So we booked this stay and weren't expecting much at all--right?! Well, we were surprised. The room (2 bdrm) was great. It was clean and had a great layout. The housekeeping called us to let us know we could call anytime if we needed something. The staff at the bar and grill and the coffee shack were very friendly. There was a staff member, Don, who was very helpful and gave us tips on beaches that were nice and was just very friendly. He threw out the "pirate coins" into the pool for kids to find and then on check out redeem for free gifts. There were plenty of activities--my girls loved karaoke night and band night. We didn't do any kids activities, but everyday something was going on. They have free table tennis, pool tables, basketball, volleyball...There are 2 pools--one with a big slide and it is a zero entry pool and then right next to that is a big splash area--reminds me of the Great Wolf Lodges--but outside. Then across the "street" there is another pool with the pirate ship (4 slides on that) and lots of squirting things and then the pool is attached to that. It was just awesome.
I did have a two "negatives". First when we checked in Chris from concierge was not aware of what the word means, I guess, because we had a package to include the Sea World tickets but he couldn't find it in the system and told us to call Marriott to get the tickets added on. We paid for this trip back in July and were convinced that we pd for tickets so I had to have the front desk help me get on a computer (b/c I was not going to pay to use one) and I was able to show that we did pay for this thru the Sea World package. He had to be asked to do things--he wasnot willing to offer himself. We called down later and had him call S.W. to make sure the tickets were there so we didn't get over there and have problems. Second, we asked for towels from housekeeping b/c we had used up all our towels and had not washed them yet. It was late in the afternoon, however, to give them the benefit of the doubt and so we did not get new towels until the next day when the came in and cleaned our room--that was partially our fault though, b/c we didn't have them cleaning our rooms every day.
Overall, this was the BEST vacation that our family has had so far. We thought the girls would want to just hang out at the pools on site, but they loved Sea World so much that we ended up going to Sea World for 4 whole days--yikes....Anyway, If you are thinking of this hotel I would highly recommend it. Other than concierge (who should have had the best attitude) every other staff member we met was extremely friendly and helpful and kind.
