“Hilton brand on Disney property -- advantages of both”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2010

Stayed here four nights while my spouse took part in a convention at the hotel. Total cost for the stay, including parking and wi-fi, was $726 -- thus about $181 a night. Room featured two luxurious beds, quiet air conditioner, hair dryer, in-room iron, mini-fridge, and TV with about 20 channels.
The mini-fridge is separate from the stocked mini-bar, one of the biggest rip-offs in lodging history. Unless you enjoy paying $4 for tap water in a plastic bottle, state clearly at check-in that you do NOT want access to the mini-bar. That way, you won't have any arguments at check-out on whether you drank that $4 water bottle.
Internet is $10 for 24 hours of use -- thus, if you plan well and don't need to be on for more than an hour a day, you don't need to buy Internet every day of the stay.
On-site parking for guests is $7 per day. For this, you get a ticket that you input into the machine as you enter and exit. Choose your space wisely -- it's worth the time spent to find a space in the shade!
Amenities include business center, two pools, game room, on-site shopping, and a few restaurants in the hotel. About a mile east of the hotel is a mall with several low-cost chain stores and restaurants, including a full grocery store. About a mile west is Downtown Disney, with just about every store you could imagine.

A HUGE perk of staying at this hotel, or any other along this drive, is that you can use your hotel key for Disney "Extra Hours." Each day, one of the Disney parks will have extra time for visiting (either morning or evening), during which only those people staying on Disney land get to attend. And, yes, the people at Disney DO check for your room key. At $80 a day for admission to these parks, an extra hour with smaller crowds is quite a bonus.
In addition, there are free shuttles between the Hilton and the Parks. This saves $14 per day for parking at the Disney parks, and allows to go back to the hotel for a few hours without you fighting the traffic. They pick up and drop off at the back door to the Hilton parking lot (ask any employee) about every thirty minutes, and run from about thirty minutes before the first opening and about an hour after the last park closes. PAY ATTENTION to (1) which park the bus is going to and (2) where you will be picked up to go back to the hotel -- the bus lot at each Disney park is HUGE. Ask the bus driver is you have any questions -- Disney employees, even at customer service, were not very helpful about buses to non-Disney hotels.

Although Hilton welcomes families with children, their chain is not built around them. If this is a kid's vacation, the lodgings operated directly by Disney are closer to the parks and (many, at least) are more designed with children in mind. But this hotel has almost all of the advantages of a Disney property without the sense that you are cornered within "the biggest human trap ever built by a mouse."

In the heart of everything a toursist could ever want in Orlando. On Disney property, you get the perks of a Disney resort, minus the sometimes killer prices.Being on Disney property made the difference, the service was top notch and the lobby was grand. Not to mention the several resturants on site. This resort is a great choice for anyone from the solo traveler to the family of four....Oh! I almost forgot, the beds are to die for...

Good rooms, good hotel and restaurants, conveniently located right across the street of Downtown Disney and has some of the benefits only other Disney-branded hotels offer, such as extra magic hours.

We came across Hilton in Walt Disney World Resort quite accidently on the net with an unbelievable price! The location was superb and the Hilton quality sets a standard in itself !
The staff was extremely polite and helpful (at times going out of their way) to help us. Also since the hotel was within the Walt Disney World we had extra Disney hours called magic hours to beat the rush hours!
The swimming pools were fabulous and so was the gym well equipped. We only had breakfast at the hotel though there were 3-4 speciality restaurants..
The rooms were spacious with natural light though I desired little bigger bathrooms! The bed linen and bath linen were spotlessly clean and the maid who cleaned our room daily did a fantastic job. In case I were to visit Orlando again I would definately stay at the same place!

Just returned from a week in the hotel. It worked well for both Disney & Universal. Normally we stay at a Disney Property but with the Hilton points it was a good deal. We were upgraded to a Jr. Suite and since we had our 12 and 16 year old daughters with us the extra space was very welcome. We used the sleeper sofa to give us extra room in the small beds (they are fulls not Queens!) and found it to be very comfortable (firm mattress) when compared to other sleeper sofas. We took advantage of the free Honors members continental breakfast. Nothing special bagels, cereal, fruit and pastries ( no hot food). It was quick and easy then off to the parks. Shuttles worked well and you can walk to the Downtown Disney bus terminal if you prefer. (across the street from the hotel). We walked to Downtown Disney the first night had dinner and of course did some shopping easy walk.

We used the Meers car service to and from the airport found it convienent and easy to use $75.00 to hotel & $55.00 back. Ride is a town car. Driver was kind enought to let us make a quick stop to pick up some basics at a near by grocery store. We also used the cars to go to Universal since there is always one out front and then road a cab back. $37.00 to Universal cab back will vary based on traffic we had a 27.00 fare back. About a 10 - 15 minute ride.

You can get half day tickets in the hotel disney store. This is great if you want to take a break from the Disney parks and just go after 4pm. These are for the convention
participants but all you need to do is tell them you are with whatever convention is at the property that week. $48 bucks for these tickets nice savings.

Did not eat much at the property had the breakfast buffet one morning it was large with plenty of choices. Kids eat free with adult purchase. There is a store open 24/7, The Market Place that we frequented every night for snacks before bed.

Two pools, two hot tubs and a kiddie pool nothing special but they were welcome after a day in the park. They closed at 11:00PM.

Overall the Hotel worked fine for our needs we will use it again if we have Hilton Points.

After checking in and returning from lunch we discovered that the carpet was so wet we could not place anything on the floor except our wheeled luggage. We called front desk and were told there was no comparable room to move us to. [This hotel was by no means full]. They said they would send us a fan to dry it out but it never arrived. We had to wear shoes in our room for 2 days. It never dried out completely. This is a very shoddy way to treat any guests but inexcusable for Hilton Honors members.
For the most part the people were very friendly and the location is great bot i cannot recommend this hotel to anyone now.

We stayed at the Hilton as they offer the Disney Extra Magic Hours and we got a decent hotel without the disney prices. Previous reviews had been a bit hit and miss so i was a little wary but could not have been more wrong.
Check in was smooth and efficient, we got a 10th floor room with a view of the contemporary resort in the distance which meant we got to watch the fireworks at Magic Kingdom from our room every night it was great. From John the valet and Matthew the bellboy the staff could not have been more helpful and informative. It gave me a good feel about the place from the start.
The room was clean and tidy, yes you could say the hotel is still in the 80's in certain parts of the internal decor but our room was fine and modern. Cleaned evry day and toiletries refreshed as we would expect.
Location was excellent we walked over to downtown Disney. Really not as daunting as some of the reviews make the experience sound !. It was a stroll through the lovely gardens of the Hilton cross over the road using the crossing and you are on the Disney Marketplace.
We used the Shuttle buses to get to and from Disney, always on time and as the Hilton was the first pick up seating was never an issue. On the way back from the parks they could get busy as each bus picks up and drops at two parks. We had one really cramped bus ( and i mean they crammed us in !) but once out of about 16 times is really not bad.
We ate in the Andiamo Italian Restaurant. The staff were very attentive and the food was excellent and lots of it, so i would recommend this. Prices in the 24 hour market are somewhat expensive, we used the Winn Dixie a mile up the road to buy necessities. If you dont want to eat in Disney or the hotel there are an abundance of restaurants a short drive up the road.
The pools were fine, lovely and warm and quite quiet. Our 3 year old loved the kids pool and the 2 other adult pools were great. No problem with getting beds or towels, and the pools are open till 11pm.
We would most definitley return to this hotel, great value for money !
