“Good Room Size. Lots of Families if Your Their for Biz”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 days ago NEW

The DoubleTree Suites in Lake Buena Vista is probably better suited for families than the business traveler. The older property has been updated to look more modern. The best thing is the 2 room suite where kids can be on one room and parents in another; also a great feature for business meetings or working on projects with team mates. The free breakfast was quite extensive and the omelet maker was especially pleasant. I saw a ton of families in the dining room with mouse ears on that only made me sad that I was there alone. The gift shop had a great selection for business travelers that forget stuff (like me). Parking was gated and well lit when I arrived late. Good thing since there was a charge for parking. Room was especially humid. If you are not careful the dreaded sunlight will hit you in the face in the AM if you don't close the curtains well. Great bed!

Room Tip: Carpeted halls so ask for close to elevator if you have rolly bag.

The staff at this hotel is awesome! Everyone aims to please and goes out of their way to make sure you receive what you need. Special thanks to the restaurant staff and the lounge staff! Recommendations were right on!

We spent Presidents Day weekend here and couldn't be happier with our choice. We had a suite with a separate bedroom for us whilst our daughter had the sofa bed in the living room. It was incredibly spacious and at a much lower price than we expected to have to pay for a Disney area hotel. There are plenty of eating options nearby and Downtown Disney not too far away either. The only disappointment was the shuttle buses (operated by Disney, not the DoubleTree) which were great at getting you to the parks but less reliable on the return journey.

As frequent visitors to Hilton Hotel groups, we were disappointed in this stay. The room was large and clean with a little kitchen area. The breakfast was good and the breakfast staff were exceptionally nice. The front desk staff were average. The gift shop staff were indifferent. My husband went in late one evening to purchase a snack and the staff member was of minimal help. Bus service was NOT good during our stay. We waited 25 mins for one bus, and the second time we attempted riding a bus from the park to the hotel for a mid afternoon rest, after 45 mins of no bus showing, we returned to the park. We did not walk to Downtown Disney from the hotel, but I would attempt it if I was there again. Instead we chose to drive and with the enormous amount of construction going on in the area, we had to drive beyond Downtown Disney and park in a cast members lot. There was a shuttle from there to Downtown Disney but we walked and the walk was about as far as the hotel. I would not recommend driving to Downtown Disney. Supposedly construction is due to be complete by late 2016. Meanwhile, its a mess to drive around the area. Construction is also present in the Magic Kingdom and the airport. Likely other places as well. If transportation is important to you, then I would suggest staying at a Disney property (our favorite way to do Disney but this hotel was chosen due to business obligations).

A very nice place to stay. You can walk to Disney Village, but they have a shuttle to any park. The rooms are very nice, clean and comfortable. Best of all they give you all the chocolate cookies you can eat.

We stayed here for 7 nights last week in April. We were with my sister in law and her husband. We had 2 rooms that were both beautiful. We had a 2 Queen suite on 2 floor. I have 2 boys 10 and 14 and the main living area had a pull out couch that my 10 yr old prefered. The beds were very comfortable and easy to fall asleep. We had a microwave and mini fridge. We had wonderful breakfast at the Evergreen cafe. We love Theresa she always made us feel like family. The gold members were $7 a piece for hot buffet. It included: biscuits and gravy, sausage, bacon, eggs and cheese, pancakes or waffles and they do have Mickey Mouse mini waffels that are really cute. They have a made to order Omelette station and the cooks are wonderful.
We stayed here so we could use the Disney transportation system. It was great. We did rent a car and did have to pay $18 a day, even though sis in law was a gold member. The shuttles ran every 30 mins that went to all the different parks. We loved the Disney store in the Lobby, We must have been there everyday. I liked doing my laundry up on the 7th floor. It was a charge card machine very cool way to do it. $3 a load each one.
Our favorite in the restaurant was a steak and Mac and Cheese cost $19 but I split it with my son. Mac and Cheese was $13 but big bowl and delicious. Soda pops were high price in machines $2.75 so plan ahead. My husband loved the choc chip cookies he grabbed his everyday.
The pool was a large pool outside and very beautiful landscape. I overall loved this hotel. It is great for families. Rooms were very quiet.

Room Tip: 7th floor has great view of Disney area, if you want fireworks try there. We had 2nd floor but reall...

Second stay here... Booked through Hotwire so you don't know the hotel name till afterwards. The room is pretty big and nicely updated. Booked on Hotwire for about $60/night. When you arrive they immediately ask for a credit or debit card to put on file and that's where they'll charge you the $17/night for parking, up from $15 our last stay. Oh by the way, good luck getting a space in the evening. Upon check in, there was no toilet paper in the room. Decent room, no amenities, ie fridge or microwave. They do have a buffet breakfast for $19/person, kids under 12 eat free. Its OK, but I'd rather know up front the cost, I hate getting Nicole and dined!!!
