Great resort for the price. Great transportation to the parks and a very friendly and helpful staff made our stay very pleasant. The room was on the small side, but it was large enough for two adults and included a small refrigerator. The grounds are well maintained and the pools are very nice. We would certainly consider staying here again.

Pop Century is a great resort for families. We spent 7 nights here with our 2 children, ages 5 & 7. The rooms are not large, but had everything we needed. We upgraded to a preferred location so we would not have far to walk with tired kids at the end of the day. Check in was a breeze (we did the pre-check in online). The Disney transportation system is very slick and we loved not having to "share" the bussing with another resort. The Disney dining plan was well worth the convenience. The dining options at the hotel were very good. We loved it and would definitely stay here again.

Our family of 4 has stayed here on 3 occasions now. We have had rooms in the 50's, 60's, 70's wings. The rooms are equal in any wing. The food at the cafe is good but get there EARLY as it fills up very quickly. It is also very busy late in the evening. We have always gotten 2 connecting rooms at this value instead of staying at a mod or deluxe. 2 rooms at a value is cheaper and gives us more square footage than a single at the more upscale resorts. Plus we get 2 bathrooms. This resort is themed for kids. They love the gigantic cartoon characters throughout the property. There are kids activities led by castmembers at the 60's pool. It is a nice opportunity to take a break and keep the kids occupied. Bring Disney window clings to decorate the large window in each room. It's fun and also helps identify your room at a glance.

Our first time at the POP, but not our last. We enjoyed the atmosphere and the food court was great, no looking for a place to sit. Bus service was wonderful, hardly any wait at all. The staff was excellent, very helpful and friendly. Not what I expected at all, a real surprise!

I've stayed numerous times and love the atmosphere and the staff. The property is always clean and well-kept. Now that the rooms have flat-panel TV is a plus. The food court is close and very well presented.

We loved staying at Pop Century! We were a little different than the usual demographic (52 and 49 with no kids) but really enjoyed the theme of the resort and got a big kick out of the 60s, 70s, and 80s decor and the music playing in each area. We often sang along to the "oldies". The price was great as Disney was running a promotion for November at 20% off. Be sure to check disney's website and click on specials. The room was very clean, well maintained, and the view was great (across the lake looking at the Art of Animation resort). Our room was very quiet, as I had called the resort a few days before arrival and requested a 4th floor room with a lake view and told them we were a 50ish couple who wanted quiet. Of course, preferences are by availibility and not guaranteed. The food court was nice with a fairly good selection of food(prices were high but typical for Disney) but they give you a very large portion so we often split an entree and got and extra side. The gift shop had alot of merchandise to choose from. The arcade was small but fun. There was alot of walking because the parking lots can be a long way from your room depending on where you stay. You tend to sacrifice a close location for peace and quiet. The staff was great, very helpful and friendly. I definitely recommend Pop Century.

Room Tip: For peace and quiet, request a lake view in 70s bldg, 4th(top) floor.

Having stayed in this Hotel twice before, we chose to stay there again for 5 nights and the Hotel did not disappoint!

Our requirements in a Hotel are simple, clean, tidy and secure and although it is classed as a 'Value' Hotel, upon reading the Reviews and descriptions of the higher range ones and what you are getting for your money (an indoor and outdoor pool/gym/sauna etc) we were more than happy to book a more basic Hotel and have the money to spend in Disney!! We are the kind of people who like to be at the park gates when they open and stay until the park closes (check the park leaflets to find out which Park has 'extra magic hours' which will enable you to go in to the park before the general public - a perk for guests who stay on-resort!!) and the free and frequent (every 20 minutes to all of the 4 Disney parks) certainly allows you to do this. This Hotel does have great amenities though including a heated outdoor pool, table tennis etc but due to the reasons mentioned above, we didn't take advantage of any of these facilities.

The official check-in time is mid-afternoon but we arrived at 8am on the understanding that we could leave our bags in a locked room until we returned later and a room was ready for us. However, an extremely helpful gentleman at the check-in desk found us a room that we were able to check-in to immediately!! This might have been a case of luck but I suggest that you ask if a room is available upon your arrival (even if it is before the official check-in time) as you might be lucky like we were!

A great location to be in is the 1960s block as you are really close to reception, the Food Court (so perfect for your early morning coffee) and the extensive Disney merchandised shop (that also sells essentials should you have forgotten anything)!! Also, if you buy anything in the Parks, upon approaching the till, mention to the shop assistant that you would like the items delivered to your Hotel. They will then ask you to complete a form and the goods will be delivered to the Hotel shop the following afternoon (please ensure that you will still be on-resort when they say they will deliver your goods otherwise you run the risk of them not arriving before you leave) this is a free service (but lethal as you tend to forget what you have bought previously and end up laden when it's time to go home!!) so, by staying in the 1960s area, you won't have far to carry your purchases!!

The rooms are spacious with 2 double beds, a good size wardrobe, chest of drawers and a small but functional kitchenette with a fridge. There is also a shower and a bath, a good quality hairdryer, a small 'key locked' safe, ironing board and iron. The heating system is also very good and easy to use.

As mentioned above, the rooms do have a small kitchenette but there aren't any tea or coffee making facilities in the room. However, if I may suggest that upon arrival you go down to the Hotel Food Court and purchase an insulated good size mug. These come in different colours so that if you are travelling with more than one person, you won't get the mugs mixed-up and they have Mickey themed pictures on them. When we stayed they cost $15.99 + tax and they allow you to have free refills (tea, coffee, hot chocolate, Coke, Fanta and more) for the duration of your stay and if you consider what you might spend, the price is a bargain!! The food court itself also sells a huge array of food and drink including alcoholic beverages if you find you're peckish when you return home or need breakfast before you 'hit' the Parks!

The Hotel also offers a postal service and I can confirm that it is extremely reliable as our postcards arrived home a week after we did (unheard of on other holidays we have taken) and the concierge desk is really helpful if you have any questions about events or dining reservations.

If you book through Virgin, they offer a 'Downtown Disney departure service' whereby they will take your suitcases to the airport and check them in on the plane for you, this enables you to enjoy your last day without having to think about heaving heavy cases around or having to keep them with you. However, the free Hotel shuttles (that take you to Epcot, Hollywood Studios, Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom and Downtown Disney) do not allow suitcases so you would need to take a taxi from the Hotel to the Downtown Disney Virgin check-in desk - this will cost you approx $15 (not including a tip) but once done, you can relax in Disney and have a few drinks/a meal etc before heading to the airport in the knowledge that your bags will already be there.

The Hotel also offers a Disney Express service to/from the airport (Virgin also have a shuttle service so you can choose which you opt to do). We took advantage of the Hotel service back to the airport and it saves you approx $60 in taxi fare and gave us more time at the airport to buy the last few things (Virgin gets you there closer to the departure time of your flight whereas the Hotel provides an hourly service so you can chose which time you go). If you do decide to use the Hotel service, mention it at the time of booking you holiday as the places on the coach are limited so you need to secure your seats. Going back to the airport, you definitely get the best choice of restaurants, bars and shopping before you go through departures and the duty free shop situated through in to departures is tiny (which has never ceased to amaze us bearing in mind the size and popularity of this destination) so bear that in mind before you go through.

In closing, I would recommend this Hotel to anyone who wants a Hotel in a good location, a good price with helpful staff and tidy rooms. Admittedly it's not the most uxorious but, how long are you going to be in your room when you have Disney on your doorstep!?!?!
