We recently returned from a trip to Orlando and divided our stay between the wilderness lodge and the animal kingdom lodge. My brother in law is a castmember for the Disney company and therefore gets 50% off hotel rate. Because of this, our rate was $200 a night. The room was excellent, it had a small living room with great views (no savanah view though). Compared to the wilderness lodge (see my review) this is a much better choice. I couldn't se myself paying $600 a night during high season, but it is still a very nice place. As far as the hotel grounds, they are great and you really do feel in another place. The restaurants (with African food) are excellent, and the lounge is very nice, my wife and I found a nice couch and had a great time over drinks. At night, disney staff is available for nightime animal viewing, it was great!! You can see animals through night vision goggles!! Overall, the animal kingdom lodge experience is one not to miss when in Orlando.
