“Animal Kingdom Lodge ******”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 16, 2013

My family and I stayed at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge in May 2012. Our party consisted of 2 adults and 2 children aged 7 and aged 5.
The hotel is a fantastic hotel and everything we hoped it would be. It is not the cheapest hotel on the block but I guess, in the main, you get what you pay for.
The room, although not the largest, was very well decorated with the Animal Kingdom theme and our balcony looked over on to a near by watering hole where we could see numerous wildlife.
All the staff were very good in the typical "Disney" way.
All in all a great place to be based!!

“Very Nice, But you have to walk a long distance from the parking lot to the room...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 15, 2013

Me and my daughter, stayed at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge in January. Our stay here was fairly good. The theming is fabulous. It really is a beautiful resort. The hotel is spectacular, but t has very little to do with Mickey Mouse and Disney. The bedroom, was very clean and well decorated. A litlle bit darker though. Food options at the resort were also a bit limited in comparison to some of the other Disney resorts. It's very far from the parks, and you have to walk a long distance between the parking lot to the bedroom. One time is enough to stay there.

“Dream come true”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 15, 2013

I have wanted to stay at the animal kingdom lodge for many years. I'm enamoured with anything Disney and Animal Kingdom Lodge livied right up to my expectations. Beautiful hotel, amazing lobby, fantastic staff, amazing view, a room that was exactly what we asked for, incredible pool, awesome decor. Not to mention my now fiance proposed to me the night we were eating at Jiko, and since learning the story of how it all happened i can tell you the staff at the hotel, not just at Jiko but at the front desk, concierge, cleaning staff and at Boma all went above and beyond. thank you for making such an amazing experience even more memorable. <3

Room Tip: spend the money and get a room that over looks a view of the savannah with the animals, so worth it

“Unique Resort As Only Disney Can Do It”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 14, 2013

Animal Kingdom Lodge is a resort like no other. Every other resort, you walk into your room and check the view: will it be of the pool? Will I be stuck looking at a roof top?
At Animal Kingdom Lodge you can walk into your room, spread the curtain, and see giraffes, zebras, Ankole cattle, Thompson gazelles, and so on. I watched 2 Roan Antelope butt heads right outside my balcony!
This was my second stay at Animal Kingdom Lodge-Jambo House. I stayed in a studio, room 5435. It was a fine size for 1 or 2 people. I think 4 would be crowded.
From the moment you enter the lobby, you will be transported to Africa. Disney has pulled out all the stops. From the African art work in the lobby and the hallways, to the Cultural Ambassadors from Africa, to the savannas, to the piped in music, everything is geared to transport you to another continent.
Yes, it is a bit more distant from the center of Disney World. However, it took me just 10 minutes to drive to Magic Kingdom. Yes, due to the animals it is not as brightly lit at night as other resorts. But if you love animals, you will be enthralled at this resort. And with all the activities they have, you can stay a week and never leave.
A couple of tips: If you have small children, head next door to Kidani Village, as their pool has a great splash area. Also, check out the activities and savannas available at Kidani Village, which as a guest at Jambo House you are allowed to use.

Room Tip: Pay extra and get a savanna view!

“For Animal Lovers.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 12, 2013

I am really enjoying my stay at Animal Kingdom Lodge. I got a good price...so price is not a factor in my review. I am staying in an ADA room on 3rd floor Arusha view with club level amenities. I saw an ostrich lay an egg right in front of my balcony today. Also, zebras, giraffes, antelope, pelicans, flamingos, African hogs, guinea fowl. Bring binoculars to see the pupils of their eyes! If you can afford it...get a Savannah view room. If you cannot...get a non-view room and check out the action from Arusha rock and other places around hotel. Go during off season for even better rates. People are friendly. Have not eaten at any of the restaurants, so cannot review. The animals have really been a treat.
