“Great vacation!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2013

The Animal Kingdom Lodge was a wonderful place to stay. It was very clean, beautifully decorated and the staff was outstanding. There were many activities for children throughout the lobby, including a photographer to take pictures in front of the enormous Christmas tree. The food in the Mara cafe was very good. An example was that the turkey sandwich was real turkey, no turkey sandwich meat, no turkey loaf but real sliced turkey and served generously. We used the quick-service dining plan and were very satisfied with our variety of choices.

Room Tip: We were in 4204 and we saw no animals from the balcony but that was really OK because we were out an...

“Magical”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2013

Wonderful stay. Beautiful room (a bit small) right by the animals feeding area, where there were always animals to look at. Nice clean bathroom with cute folded towels, soaps, and the water was fine. Had a great time exploring the hotel and searching for "hidden mickeys." Only problem was that the pool was under repair, but the staff was very kind and offered to give us transportation to another hotel's pool nearby. Had a wonderful time in Disney!

“Worth every penny”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2013

Winter break with the family, Not the cheapest way to do Disney, however as the title says worth every penny.

We had a savannah room which is a must. Giraffes wandering under the balcony -- incredible!

Rooms are on the small size but to be honest we did not mind as one would expect spotlessly clean.

Staff are wonderful my wife's birthday when we where there and a card from Mickey Mouse - made her so happy.

Magic hours are great make sure you take advantage as there are no queues for the big rides.

Restaurants in the hotel expensive but there is a great free shuttle service around the parks so no need to eat there all the time even though the food is very good. Get a Disney meal deal well worth it

Pool is wonderful

Room Tip: Savannah room

“A great Disney resort if you love animals”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2013

We've stayed at Animal Kingdom Lodge 3-times before and this was the first time we didn't choose the Savannah View room. We were pretty disappointed last time as the view was not very good - very few animals to see so we decided to go for the cheaper Pool view which was a good decision - it was much closer to the lobby, some rooms are really far away from the lobby and restaurants and it can take you a lot of time to get there and back.

The breakfast-buffet is good and there is a huge selection of cold and warm food but charging $23 for kids over 10 is in my opinion too much. While Disney knows the age of your kids they won't check it for the breakfast buffet so I guess they expect you to cheat a bit with the age of your kids if they ask for it when you show up for breakfast...

Room Tip: If you're looking for rooms with a good view of the savannah, make sure to choose one in the 342...

“Disney magic with real animals”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2012

We've stayed at Jambo House many times over the years and it is our favorite. Having an opportunity to sit on the balcony outside the hotel room to watch giraffes, zebras and other animals, is something that we never tire of. Our last visit was over the Thanksgiving weekend and the hotel was decorated beautifully for the holidays. In comparison to other Disney resorts, this resort is quiet and relaxing. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: A room with a savannah view close to the main lobby and public viewing area will allow for more oppo...
