“Saturday Night Date!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 3, 2013

My wife and I visited Sanaa for a nice dinner while on a weekend trip to Orlando. We had reservations immediately when it opened and were seated quickly. The waiter was friendly and helpful especially since we have never been to a restaurant with this cuisine before. The food came quickly and was absolutely delicious! The blend of flavors was unlike anything we have ever eaten! The portions were small considering the price, but I was expecting that. The atmosphere was good even though we did not have a window seat. The only major downside of the evening was that the restaurant did not honor the annual passholder discount as shown in our booklet. Otherwise, it was a great dinner!

“Good view of Animal Kingdom”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 3, 2013

This was a very nice place to eat lunch. We chose lunch because we wanted to see the animals in the yard surrounding the hotel. It was nice and the food was really great. It not something we eat everyday but to taste and try new foods were great. Our family enjoyed all the foods we ordered. The breads were great and the beef and chicken dishes were really good.

“Second Time Even Better!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 1, 2013

My husband and I have now had lunch at Sanaa twice; our October 2012 lunch was excellent and our recent meal even better. The food, service, and atmosphere were equally great as on our first visit, but this time we had reservations upon opening (11:30) and got there about 15 minutes early. We scored a window table and were able to watch cranes, wildebeest, giraffes, and Ankole cattle do their thing.

We ordered the salad trio, keeping the Watermelon, Cucumber and Fennel Salad and the Bhel Puri we chose last time, but swapping out our previous Chickpeas with Cucumber and Tomato for the new Mango (which I think also had red onions and cucumber). These salads are so delicious and refreshing, especially with the combination of sweet and savory in the watermelon and mango choices. The Bhel Puri (red onions, tomatoes, cucumbers, crunchy noodles and puffed rice) is a great combination that we cannot get anywhere in Gainesville, so really look forward to it at Sanaa. This time we also tried the Bread Service, which includes up to three types of bread (we chose Naan, Garlic/Ginger Naan, and Onion Kulcha) served with three accompaniments (Cucumber Raita, Coconut Chutney, and Roasted Red Bell Pepper Hummus). What a treat to have fresh naan – hot, crispy on the bottom, soft on the top, and light as air. And the Onion Kulcha was a very pleasant surprise; we have had this at other restaurants and have been disappointed in the texture and oiliness, but at Sanaa it was not at all oily, but was very savory and had excellent texture. The cucumber raita and red pepper hummus were delicious and fresh, but the real surprise was the coconut chutney, which was intensely coconutty and nicely sweet. My husband ordered the Chicken Tandoori Sandwich which was served over salad greens, onion, and tomato on fresh naan, covered in a savory sauce and cucumber raita. This was a delicious and filling choice, with the chicken cooked to a smoky goodness and matching perfectly with the sauce and raita. Since I was trying to save room for dessert, I went light with the Samosas, two pastry pockets filled with potatoes and peas over a tamarind chutney – the hot and lightly spiced filling matched well with the tamarind, and the pastry was light and not at all oily. I shouldn’t have gone with dessert but the Chai Cream was calling – this creamy, luscious masterpiece was a perfect ending to the meal, with its flavors of cardamom, black chai tea, cinnamon, and vanilla.

Our server Brenda was friendly, knew the menu very well, and kept out iced teas filled (very important after a long morning in the parks). We purchased two iced teas, three appetizers, one entree, and one dessert and paid $53.08 out of pocket; we received a discount of $10.29 using our Tables in Wonderland card. We highly recommend Sanaa for anyone who wants to try something other than the usual theme park burgers and chicken (although you can get that, albeit of a higher quality, here too).

“Not to be missed!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 1, 2013 via mobile

New menu rolled out right before we visited. Do not go without ordering the bread service. It was so good we had it a second time during our stay in the adjacent lounge. Milder food flavors but still unique and delicious. Lamb shank was perfect as was the bison. Kids menu available. Well worth the visit.

“Loved the night vision goggles!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 30, 2013

Great food, and great experience for the whole family. This was our second visit to Sanaa, and we were not disappointed either time. The back drop is a savannah were zebra's, giraffe's and many other species roam. We arrived in the daylight and were treated to many beautiful views. After dinner we went out into the savannah and were given night vision goggles. What an amazing experience! Our kids are 11 and 13 and they were equally impressed with watching these animals in the dark. Definitely a note to miss disney attraction. As a side note, because this restaurant is located in the lodge, you do not need a pass to eat there, so even if you are not going to Disney, it is a must do.
