We stayed at the Nick Hotel from July 11 to July 13. My best advice is to avoid the weekends there. On Saturday, I stood in line so long to get our tickets at Guest Services for the Dora and Diego Animal Jam we missed it (I had already had made reservations). There were only 2 people working the counter. Also a huge disappointment- the big slide was closed the majority of time we were there. When we checked out people were very upset about this and the manager was practically talking to every person. We ended up getting $50 off our room because of this (fair- but considering the $263 we paid per night they could have done more). Also the elevator by our room was broke about 90% of the time we were there. Be prepared to do alot of walking- it takes forever to walk from one place to another. The pools were crowded on Saturday but less on Sunday and Monday. Food was expensive and the buffett is only open for breakfast. The other sit down restraunt only has limited hours. My kids loved the Spongebob Bikini Beach show. It was worth $25. The staff was nice, but we will not return. Although my 4 year old son can't stop talking about it.
We had a blast here. There were two families of 4 four and we had ajoining rooms in building 10 overlooking the slide structure. We went on Sunday morning and left on a Tuesday. Show up early because you can't check in until later in the afternoon but you can use the facilities. Our children were ages 7, 10, 13. They had a blast on the slides and in the pools. If you are a Florida resident you can get a coupon book that is awesome for a free well drink and free kid drink of the day. The drink prices for top shelf were about 8 dollars. The food wasn't too badly priced a chicken basket, fries, and 20 oz soda was about 10 dollars. You do have a fridge in the room around 3ft by 2ft and a microwave which helped as we brought food to eat in the room to save on costs. They do have a pizza hut, Barnies Coffee and other take out foods available.
The room has a couch (that pulls out) and chair, table and chairs to eat and the kids rooms bunk beds with tv, playstation 2. The other bedroom was nice. The bed was comfortable with plenty of pillows and tv. The room was very clean and well taken care of. I did not see any bugs at all.
Helpful hints. Stake out you pool chairs early in the morning. Bring regular beach towels, old t-shirts to mark your territory. You basically leave your stuff all day so you don't lose your place. If there is lightening they will close down the pool for a while.
They do have arts and crafts, kids contests, arcades, and a few shows. The kids mostly just wanted to play on the slides. The main slide area is great. The slides end on a straight away and not in a pool so even younger kids can go on. We basically sat on the chairs and socialized while the kids had a blast. The felt free running around.
The noise level was not to bad either. We were on the 3rd floor in building 10.
We are looking forward to going back. We didn't go to any of the parks as we live locally and the kids were not bored after being there for two days. Actually they didn't want to leave.
Not enough life jackets to accomodate the families that wanted them, and we witnessed a small lifeless boy being drug from the pool, which completely tramatized our family. We're hoping and praying he will fully recover, we were told by the staff that he eventually did begin breathing.
Dirty room, many things broken (lights, phones, refrigerator, safe). Restricted shuttle hours, broken icee machine, broken coffee machine, warm beer.
NOT worth the money, not even close.
Great service and well worth the expense,The children loved every minute. The room was very well fitted for adults and awesome for the children,I am a single parent with a 7 year old girl and a 9 year old boy,1 week later they still can't stop talking about the Nick hotel.
