My cousin and I met at the Hyatt for a weekend together of rest and relaxation. The property was a perfect for our goals. As others have stated, the grounds were beautiful and the amenities were plentiful.
Our fourth-floor room was of average size, and we had a beautiful view of the lake. While we were located near the elevator, hallway noise was minimal and outside noise was nonexistent.
The pool area was fabulous and not nearly as crowded at one would expect. Plenty of chairs were available in both the sun and the shade. Saving chairs was not a problem, as the staff was alert to removing towels used for this purpose. Rafts and float toys were available for use with no additional fee.
The $15 resort fee includes the workout room, pool, lake recreation (many styles of paddle boats, and sail boats), bikes, tennis and racquet ball courts. This fee was well worth it for the amenities we enjoyed.
Due to the hotel restaurant reviews on this site, we tried to avoid eating at the hotel. However, on two occasions, a lunch and a breakfast, we ate at Cascades. We found both meals to be above average. For lunch, I enjoyed a salad topped with a nice piece of salmon. For breakfast, we both ordered off the menu (a breakfast buffet was available), and I had a breakfast burrito with sides of asparagus, potatoes, and tomato.
We are already planning a return trip this summer with the kids in tow.
