“Nice Hotel. Lovely Pool”
Stayed for 4 nights (30 May to 2 June) with my husband. I had requested a king room with lake view on my reservation, but this was not visible upon check-in, so I asked the receptionist and she 'upgraded' me to a room with a view of epcot (to see the fireworks, which is a nice bonus). Room 803 was nice, a fair size with a king bed.
The bed itself wasn't very comfortable as it had far too many (feather) pillows - 6 in total and a duvet sandwiched between two bed sheets, which got very tangled up when sleeping.
We had lunch once at the pool, where the the food was good and the service was just ok. The pool is the great part about this hotel. It's huge with a large 'alcove' area, nice temperature, a number of waterfalls / spa tubs and most importantly it was clean.
Resort facilities - We only tried the driving range (not enough time), which was good, but would have been much better with some overhead cover (the sun was VERY hot).
First Negative : The in-room fridge was locked with no key in sight. We rang down twice for the key, but to no avail. On the first evening upon our return to the hotel we decided to ask reception for the key, which they gave to us straightaway and so we made our way up to our room. Unfortunately, when we returned to our room we realised we had locked our keys in the room, so my husband went down to reception. 20 minutes later, my husband returned, quite furious- reception had asked him for proof of ID (I had booked the hotel in my maiden name). It didn't matter that we had both been to see the same receptionist literally 2 minutes earlier, nor the fact that my husband had left his credit card details at check-in. Even the manager was useless at sorting this out and despite saying they would send someone up to speak to me to confirm who my husband was, no-one actually turned up.
Second Negative : The patio window was extremely dirty, especially on the outside. For a 5-star hotel, I find this quite unacceptable.
The internal walk from the self-parking lot to reception takes you through all the hotel conference rooms, which isn't ideal when you are not staying at the hotel for a conference. On many occassions we had to 'fight' out way through the crowds of people - morning, day and night.
All in all a nice hotel. It's probably only worth the money if you plan on using most of the resort facilities though.
