OK let me start by saying that we did not read any reviews on this hotel until after we had booked our holiday and after reading some of the other reviews on TA we were mortified.
When we arrived we were expecting a right shabby pit of a hotel and were looking to find fault, what we actually found was a lovely well keep hotel with exceptionally helpful friendly staff
ROOM: We stayed in a two bed suite in building 2, the room was well kept and clean.
The room was not what i'd call massive but it was more than adequate for our needs we were a family of 5 ranging in age between 11 and 64 years old.
we had two on-suites that were cleaned and restocked with clean towels, toilet tissue, and soap about every three days, although we could put out the "clean me" sign as often as we wanted and they would clean the room. we had our room cleaned every other day this included fresh sheets for the beds.
The beds were very comfortable as were the pillows. The bed in the master bedroom was a large king. There was also a large tv set in this room.
The second room had two singles which although i never slept in them myself my daughters both slept soundly after a day spent walking around the parks.
The third room was a nice livingroom with a small kitchenette to the side.
The kitchenette was not overly stock with pots, pans, cutlery or utensils, had we wanted to cook a three course meal we would have found it difficult, but come on you are in Florida with numerous places to eat within walking distance why would anybody want to cook? It also had a microwave and dishwasher
The livingroom had a small dinning table, coffee table, tv, and a large sofa bed.The decor through out was pleasent enough if alittle out dated.
We had a wrap around balcony/terrace which was BIG, at a guess i'd have to say it was between 13 and 18foot wide, the lounge furniture on the terrace was alittle old but absolutely fine and quite comfortable.
The view from the terrace was superb it looked out over a lake to Wet n Wild and you could also see some of the other parks, the view was amazing both day and night as once the sun goes down the lights of Florida come on, a must see.
We only had two problems with the room, the first was that when we folded out the sofa bed we noticed a stain on the mattress. We called down to reception to let them know and within an hour a guy turned up with a new mattress.
The second problem we had was that one night our curtain got caught on the sliding door as i was closing the door and pulled the whole curtain rail down. Called reception and within the hour a guy turned up with a screwdriver and a handful of screws to fix the problem.
The last thing i'll say about the room is this, after reading some bad reviews about the hotel i looked at the photos posted by TA members and one room stood out so i contacted the TA member and asked if they remembered what room they stayed in.
Luckily they did remember so around a month before we were due to leave for Florida we contacted the hotel directly and asked if it was possible to have the room.
They replied to our email saying that they would do their very best if the room wasnt already occupied.
We got the room we asked for and as you can see we were very happy with it, so thank you very much TA member Dawnbeverly for giving us the room number.
COMMUNAL AREAS: The grounds are well kept and neat, there is a very big car park at the front of the hotel.
There are two outside pools and one inside pool and a kids playground.
In other reviews people complained about key cards not working, we only had this problem with one of the three cards we had, this was at the start of our second week, i took the key to reception and it was reprogrammed in seconds end of problem.
There is a pizza hut on site and small gift shop that also sold things like tea and coffee, milk and other snacks and drinks.
Aswell as complimentary shuttle taking you to most of the parks there is also a family run taxi service onsite.
The hotel has 24hr security who walk around the hotel and its grounds.
STAFF: To be honest we did not have much contact with the staff (the sign of a good hotel) but when we did they were ALL so friendly and helpful giving out advise on where to go and how to ride the iride trolley and just grear general local information.
FOOD: There was a complimentary breakfast in a bag which was not to my taste but the missus liked it, it consisted fruit and pastries tea or coffee.
There is also a pizza hut onsite which we only used once or twice as we didnt really like it although there was nothing wrong with it, it just wasnt to our taste.
LOCATION: The location is second to none right on idrive it is in walking distance of hundreds of shops and places to eat with a bus stop and iride stop 30 seconds away.
A tip for choosing your room do as i did look at photos and read reviews of other TA members then co...
