This is based on experience compared to a dozen US theme parks, including all of the CA and FL Disney ones. First, MGM has less to see than the Magic Kindom or Epcot. If you start early, you can cover the whole park in one day. (We always need two days for the Magic Kingdom.) Next, it is a more "grown up" park than the Magic Kingdom or Animal Kingdom.. There are only a couple of attractions for the under 6 crowd, but fortunately there are shows that appeal to all ages. Here our some of our favorites and one un-favorite:
Rock'n'Rollin Coaster: Favorite coaster of all the Disney parks
Tower of Terror: Fun, but not as scary as those rides that drop you from the top of a tower where you can see the ground below
Fantasmic: Don't mis this show. A Disney original.
Lights, Motors, Action Stunt show: Best stunt show with cars anywhere. (Watercraft part is pretty lame since the pool is so small.)
Indiana Jones Stunt show: Neat. Also surprising if you don't know what is coming.
Backlot tour. OK, but don't expect as much as Universal Studios if you don't want to be disapponted.
Journey Into Narnia: Walking into a snow (not real snow) covered forest was a surprise in the hot weather. After that, its mainly a movie trailer. Not at all like it was described, and by far the most disappointing Disney attraction we have ever seen.
