I love themed everything, so Disney is perfect for me. I had a blast at MGM. The Tower of Terror, which I had always been scared to go on before, and the Aerosmith rollercoaster, which was new to me, were both awesome. It's just the little details that Disney puts into everything that make it. Of course, everything's overpriced, but you just have to expect that. But who can put a price on ambiance? Oh, Disney, right. Whatever, I still had a great time!

The Disney MGM was a nice park in October. Not real big, but lots to do if you take the time to do it. Of course everyone goes to Tower of Tower which was fantastic as always. I recommend the fast pass to get in line. With that, we were on in only five minutes. The Indiana Jones Spectacular was excellent. They do a tremendous stuntshow that takes your breath away. The Backlot Tour really wasnt very good. They didnt show much and basically it seems if they were just trying to kill time. Skip it. We ate at the Prime Time Cafe, which is modeled after a 1950's kitchen and the servers act like your parents! The food is 1950's fare such as Meatloaf, Pot Roast, etc... Our sever was Tommy and he was great. We also watched the High School Musical production...it was just okay. It was a nice park, but Universal had more to do.

All the interesting bits I remembered from previous trips years ago had gone when we visited in September. There was hardly anything to see apart from the few larger rides/shows which haven't been updated. Everyone was just walking around the shops and restaurants until queueing for the next show started.
Considering Universal is only up the road, I'm surprised that the MGM Studioes haven't been revamped to keep pace with the better film theme park.

The best "ride" at this park has to be "Tower of Terror". The walk up to the ride, and the inside of the "hotel" is scary in itself. It is by far the best attraction there. The Rockin' Rollercoaster is a great hit too. Other than that, I think this park needs an update. The Star Wars, Indiana Jones and all the other "older" hits are no longer interesting. C'mon Disney-change it up!!
Loved the Sci Fi restaurant and all the "actors" roaming around.

As for the heat---pick a cooler month people!! August is going to be H-O-T.

“Just okay unless you are big into Hollywood”

I thought MGM was just okay. If you are a big movie buff or love Hollywood, then I could see how it would be really enjoyable, but otherwise, I think it's just okay for Disney. The highlight of this park for me was the Lights, Camera, Motors Stunt Show. I'd recommend this for anyone, even those who are not into cars. It can get pretty hot, so I'd sit up high or by one of the fans, as the flames and pyros can make it even hotter up close to the stage. Also, this is a *loud* show, so be prepared if you have young kids that might be bothered by this. Star Tours is a good thrill there, without being quite as intense as other rides like Tower of Terror. The park seemed small compared to the others, and the theming not quite as nice as some of the other Disney parks. I'd say you could do this park in a half day, unless you are really into the whole movie/Hollywood scene, in which case, you'd probably really like this park.
