We had a magical experience at the Magic Kingdom. We went on a Weds. during Spring Break and the crowds were tolerable(especially in the morning). We arrived before the park opened which was key to our success there. We split up when the gates opened with my husband getting Fastpasses for Space Mtn. while the rest of us went to Big Thunder. We walked onto it along with Splash Mtn, Pirates and Haunted Mansion. Being from the OC we were curious to compare and contrast between FL and CA. (Pirates and Haunted Mansion are better in CA and Splash and Big Thunder are better in FL.) We then headed over to Fantasyland to ride Peter Pan and Philharmagic. Philharmagic was really good. We then ventured over to Tomorrowland and rode Space Mtn (better in FL) and Buzz (better in CA). The Tomorrowland Transit ride was nice to go on as it reminded me of Disneyland's People Mover. We were done with all of these rides by 2:00 (including a lunch break).
We were contemplating going back to the hotel for a nap (as so many people recommend) but we decided to do our shopping while the shops weren't that busy. My husband then stumbled onto the barber shop on Main St. and decided to get a haircut. They were so friendly in there!
We had dinner over at the Noodle Station and were able to get prime seats to watch the fireworks (be advised that they don't dim the lights there or pipe in the music). Off in the distance we could see lightning so Tinkerbell didn't appear that night. We still had fastpasses for splash mtn and big thunder so decided to head over there. On the way it began to sprinkle so we were thinking of skipping Splash mtn. We got loaded into the train at BTM and as soon as we were out of the loading dock it was coming down in buckets with thunder and lightning to boot!! Needless to say, we were soaking wet by the time the ride ended. I was not happy at the time but looking back on it I think this is one of the memories that will stay with us forever.
