“Mickey's Not So Scary was Crazy Good”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2012

I went to Mickey's not so scary Halloween party on October 5, 2012, with my five year old my good friend and her six year old daughter. We had every intention of arriving early but arrived inside the park around 6;45 pm. We had the goal that we were going to hit all the rides and trick or treat last. We headed right for splash mountain. Walked right on. Big thunder mountain railroad. Walked right on. Pirates of the Caribbean. Walked right on. Notice a theme here? needles to say as we realized the lines were not going to be long we did trick or treating as we went through. We skipped the first parade and missed the shows and the fireworks, but the kids were most interested in riding. We arrived at the 10:30 parade right as the headless horseman was riding down the parade route so we thought we will not get a good spot. Surprisingly, we walked right up to the ropes in Frontier Land and the kids had a front row seat. This experience was so great I am thinking about skipping Disney during the regular times and only going to the special events.

“some issues this time”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2012

On the Magic Kingdom's exact 41st anniversary, too many of the rides were broken down. We had to be "rescued" off of two of them, whichi is highly unusual. But too many of the more popular rides (Splash Mountain, Space Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain) were closed either due to mechanical difficulties or refurbishment. With the exception of the nighttime fireworks and parade, this trip to MK was a big disappointment.

“Definitely a child's paradise”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2012

The good: Electric parade, fireworks, fastpass, all rides (if you are traveling with a child)
The not so good: all rides (if you are an adult traveling alone, with friends or as a couple)
We traveled as a couple for the first time in Sep 2012. Being our first trip, we really had high expectations, but at the end of our day long trip, we did leave with mixed feelings. Undoubtedly the kids were having a ball out there will all the kid friendly rides and characters. But we, as a couple, we're definitely looking for areas of interest, after spending just 2 hrs in the park. Make sure you use the fast pass system and make lunch/dinner reservations if you want to enjoy a meal at a table. The wait times could be up to 90 mins. For the electric parade, if you want the best view, then block a streetside pavement an hour before the parade since it fills up very quickly. The fireworks were awesome, don't miss it for the world. Be ready to wait for many mins to get a picture with Mickey and co. All in all, a child's paradise.

“Happiest Place on the Planet”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 6, 2012

As you walk through the gates and see the castle, a smile comes over your face. I've been there on days when it is so crowded that you can barely move and also on days where we are the only ones in front of the castle. Both ways are magical. When you go to Magic Kingdom, you have to spend more than just a couple hours. There is so much to see and do and there is something for everyone and every age. The new FantasyLand will be fantastic when it opens next year. And, if you have grandkids and can afford to take them....do it while they are young! We took ours (ages 4, 4, 2, 2, and 6 mo) for a week and we loved watching their expressions as they met the princesses and characters.
