“Nice Hotel in Good Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 28, 2013

Nice modern hotel for price paid in good location, rooms have a contemporary feel and feature walk in wardrobe, separate bathroom/ toilet, microwave, fridge, free wifi, iPod dock alarm clock and study/ suite area.

Only disappointment with room was that maid service is hit and miss, towards end of our 2 week stay we went 3 days without any service and had to obtain towels and other amenities from reception. On first 2 occasions we put it down to bad luck on time we were in room even though this was less than 60 minutes on both occasions, however on third occasion we had been out of room from early morning until after 17.00hrs and our room had not been serviced.

Complimentary breakfast was a welcome surprise and included scrambled eggs, waffles, English muffins, bagels, muffin cake, cereal, toast, yoghurt, fruit and soft cheese. Breakfast area can become busy however it was never a problem finding a table and the team that supervise breakfast are really nice and do a fantastic job keeping everything in order.

Pool area is nice especially the hot tub although can become busy at times, snack bar offers daily specials on food and draught beers, free poolside towels are provided. Gym seemed quiet on the few occasions visited (plenty of exercise on other days walking around theme parks), it has cross trainers, running machines, bike and some weights.

On site Expedia desk provides fast track passes for Sea World (these are available to everybody staying at hotel even if you've already purchased flexi tickets from elsewhere), I Trolley passes can also be purchased from Expedia desk and worthwhile if staying more than 1 week especially if travelling to restaurants along International Drive and do not want to drink and drive.

Hotel also provides courtesy bus to Aquatica, Sea World and Universal Studios and we did occasionally use however you're restricted to schedule of timetable. Bus is also provided during day for Magic Kingdom however this chargeable and from memory leaves hotel 10:00am and returns late afternoon /early evening.

Within walking distance of hotel is TGI Fridays, Buffalo Wild Wings, Wendy's, KFC, Taco Bell, CVS and Walgreens pharmacy. After 21.00 domestic draught beers in TGI are $2.25 and a glass of White Wine $4.00, they also have daily specials on cocktails.

If dinning along International Drive then we had nice meals at Outback Steak House, Olive Garden and Brick House all of which are next to I Trolley stops.

Overall we had a great holiday and would consider using this hotel again.

The staff was friendly, the location was fine (you can see Seaworld from the parking lot), you're not far from all the restaurants on International Drive. The pool was nice and sunny, and the breakfast was typical Marriott hot continental. We stay almost exclusively at Marriott properties and this location was just a little older. The bed was not new, the pillows a little firmer, the bones of the building a little older than many we have stayed at. The water had a smell to it, and we wondered if it was well water - not quite that distinct but certainly a smell.

Fine for families and better than a lot of hotels, but not quite up to the standards of other Marriotts we've stayed in.

Thank you for the information you have shared from your recent stay at the hotel. We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed the pool area and weather in Orlando. However, we regret that we did not meet your expectations of the hotel. Your feedback is greatly appreciated as this will help us re-evaluate the maintenance program of the hotel . Stayed here for a business conference held in a different hotel that was already booked up. This place was half the cost, but was clean, in a safe area, and very close. It had a very clean, comfortable appearance, with professional, friendly staff. The reception staff were very accommodating, allowing my travel partner to keep the same room for an additional 2 nights, while I checked out. Although the initial reservation was under my name, they seamlessly transferred the additional 2 nights to my travelling partner.

They had an excellent hot breakfast every morning. They also had a concierge desk; unfortunately I did not get to take advantage of this as I was simply on business. It did seem to be family friendly with a family-style pool. The workout room also seemed to be well equipped. The only negative was the "oceany" smelling water in the room, although this is not unusual in my experience with other Florida hotels in this region. I would stay here again for either business or pleasure.

Room Tip: The third floor was very quiet at night, despite having many families with children at the hotel.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 21, 2013

Our famiy stayed at the Springhill suites for a week in April 2013. The location is awesome: close to Seaworld, aquatica, restaurants, Disney, outlet malls, Universal. The rooms are in great shape, decor very modern and simple. The rooms have 1 1/2 baths so great when multiple people want to use the bathroom. There's 37"(?) flat screen tv that you can rotate between sleeping area and the couch area. The only thing i didn't like is that the beds weren't comfy. Very squeaky and hard. If they could upgrade the beds i would give it 5 stars.

The hotel provides free breakfast in the mornings but it's simple items like toast, muffins, cereal, oatmeal..ect. There are only 2 hot food items (usually egg and sausage). I agree with some other posts that it is like a zoo in the mornings. Everyone's trying to finish breakfast and get on with their busy day. The last few days i just grabbed some essentials and ate in the room. There's a star bucks that opens only in the mornings so coffee peopel can get their fix.

You can get room service from their pool restaurant, Pizza hut, or TGI Fridays!

We took the free shuttle to Sea world and Aquatica. It's very convenient BUT they don't come very often! If you miss the 9am one you'd have to wait till 11 or 11:30am-which means you will waste all of your morning...

I'd stay there again for the convenience, but if they would upgrade the beds that would be awesome!

Room Tip: get the double Queen room instead of King. The double Q rooms are way more spacious (extra closets)

4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 19, 2013

My husband and I stayed here for 5 nights. We were a little concerned when we checked in that the place was going to be noisy because of the number of people in the lobby area. Much to our surprise it was amazingly quiet during the night. The place is large and has a number of amenities. The pool area is nice and has a great area for smaller children. There is also a poolside bar and cafe. It is right across the street from Sea World and offers a shuttle even though we did not take it. The breakfast area is large and handled a large number of people quite well. The food was good and they offered a variety of hot and cold foods. The bathroom set up is a little unusual and it you are a stickler about complete privacy in the bathroom this may not be the place for you. The bathroom is about 3 feet from the foot of the bed and only has a frosted glass pocket door. The shower is in a separate area. Our stay was quite comfortable. I would recommend this hotel for a family with children.

Stayed for 4 nights. Early access to Sea World excellent with front of line pass meant no waiting for any rides. Water park good and walking distance. Also handy for Disney, easy drive. Breakfast good but busy. Shower good and room good size. Would stay again.

Friendly front desk and very helpful concierge service. The free breakfast was a godsend on mornings when you need to be in the parks early. I often popped down to grab coffees and muffins and took them back to the room. Very relaxed atmosphere, kids in pyjamas and no-one complaining. The staff at breakfast are incredibly friendly and talk to you about your day. The pool isn't large, but the kids loved it after a long day in the parks.
The rooms are really spacious and the beds are comfy. We had a minor mishap when the room above ours flooded and all our belongings were moved to another room. Apart from having to unpack all our clothes again from large bags, this was handled efficiently and our clothes mainly escaped the water.
One minor complaint would be that you can hear other people's toilets flushing in the middle of the night. This noise is actually quite loud and woke me up a couple of times. Very strange.
Overall a fabulous hotel right in the centre of all the attractions. The fast passes for Sea world were also very welcome.
