Recently stayed 3 nights with three kids 6 and under. Moderate Disney resorts are definitely a step up from economy level. Rooms are bigger and grounds much nicer. Worth the extra money.
This hotel is very cozy. Lots of greenery along trails. Blocks of rooms are lodge style and feel much less motel like. Rooms are large - one of the only place's in Disney where you can have 5 to a room (trundle bed is great for younger kids- not quite big enough for an adult -trust me.)
Food court very nice if not somewhat chaotic at meal time. Food quality is good - pasta bar very nice - huge portions. Pizza looked good - individual or large pies for families. Outside dining is nice with the water and boat docks. Horse drawn carriage rides a nice touch.
Pool is on central island with a waterslide and there are smaller pools located amongst the lodges. Service is typical Disney excellent -and if not they'll fix it.
Only draw back here is lack of luggage carts and elevators to second floor. Rooms are a good walk from the parking lot. If you are on the second floor you must carry all your gear upstairs which is tough with strollers etc. While this is a negative, it nowhere near outweighs all the positives.
Highly recommend.
