“Nice Resort for family of 4”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 28, 2012

This resort is lovely , lots of walking is required. We are a family of 5 and it was a tight fit for 8 nights. I know even a family of 4 felt it was small, but really if you are only sleeping there than its not too bad for a budget . The food area was nice and we felt it had a great selection of foods for all our tastes. The pool was nice and warm ...as the weather was a bit cold .
Our biggest problem was the distances we had to travel from our room to a bus area, our son is in a wheelchair and we had asked prior to arrival that we may have a room close to the main entrance, well we were not so fortunate and had to walk about 5-7 mins to get to the front were we learned very quickly we would need to board all buses , especially in the morning as this resort is also one of the biggest and buses fill up at the first stop leaving many people waiting for a long time at the west, north and east depot. The north depot was great for us to get off and get to our room within 2 mins. The up side with the walking is its great exercise and the grounds are lovely .
rooms were clean , we did not have the nice housekeeper that made towel animals , but thats ok it was clean . We had to request more pillows X2 before we got them , no big deal . Staff was always cheerful and helpful . Our waitress Jenny at Boatwrights was fantastic!
I would stay here again if it was only 3 of us and make sure we were closer to the main entrance, although I will most likely splurge again and stay at Wilderness Lodge especially with my whole family.

Royal, rooms are magical! We had adjoining rooms, as requested. Fridges were handy.
We were in Oak Manor...very close to bus, restaurants, and pool. Outdoor movies were fun. Staff was outstanding and housekeeping well done!

My family of 5 spent 9 nights/10 days during Thanksgiving at the Port Orleans Riverside in Aligator Bayou #34. We have stayed here 3 previous times and will continue to book this resort. Our room was big enough to accomadate our family. The updates to the rooms make you think you are staying at a brand new resort. Bus stops are conviently located and did not have to wait over 15 minutes to head to the parks. Room was cleaned spotless everyday. We ate at the food court a few times and never had any issues either. We utilized the "Online" check in for the resort and was in and out in about 10 minutes. Even though they list check in time at 3:00 pm, we checked in at 1:30 pm without any issues. Definetly would highly recommend this resort.

This was our third trip to Disney with our children, but our first time staying at Port orleans Riverside And we WILL NEVER stay there again and I will never recommend this resort to anyone! Not only was our room not cleaned well and food choices for kids awful!!! BUT WE HAD MY DAUGHTERS I POD TOUCH STOLEN FROM OUR ROOM! It was on the bed when we went to breakfast and when we got back housekeeping was finishing up and the I pod was GONE!!! We searched the room from top to bottom several times it was gone!!!!!!!!! How awful to steal from guest! We put a claim in and hopefully hear something soon!!! Ohhhh and we were on the dining plan and at dinner one night at the restuarant we had a balance of 15.00 plus a tip we left 40$ in cash and the waiter kept cash and still billed our room!!! Seems to me there is a lot of stealing going on at this resort!!!! I truely hope we get reimbursed for my daughters I pod !! But the experienced has left us very unhappy and agian will never stay there and if any one asks us we will tell them not to stay there!!!! If u want bad service , bad food, and things stolen then this is your place!!!!!!!

We stayed here the second week of September and it was an all around good experience. When we arrived and found out this place has 2000+ rooms we were a bit concerned with noise but we didn't hear anything once inside our room. The room was clean and the a/c worked well. The transportation from the resort to the theme parks was fairly regular and we never waited more than 15 minutes for a bus or boat. We had the Disney meal plan but never ate at the resort as the food area was always so busy and we preferred a quieter atmosphere. No complaints about this resort although we will probably stay at a smaller resort next time.

Nice place, had the king single and there was lots of room for 2. A little more of a kitchen area would be nice but it's not like there is anywhere to buy groceries anyway. You do have to be prepared for a good bit of walking. Older people with bad backs like myself might consider a closer resort. 7 minute walk just to get a coke refill. The fishing hole is a joke, dont waste your money. The kids playground was nice for the grandkids, and the hammocks are a nice idea except some smaller children may fall through the gaping holes in the fabric slats. Room cleanliness was nice. Prepare for some 15 minute waits for buses going to parks. Nice place, but if I did it again I would just spring for a litttle more money and get one of the closer premium hotels

We just returned from our Disney vacation and I'm pleased to say we were beyond satisfied with our hotel, the service we received and even the food selection offered at the counter service in the hotel was good. We stayed a total of 6 nights. Our room was very roomy and accomadated us nicely. The only downfall was the weather was a bit nippy during our stay so we did not get to utilize the pools!! Oh well I guess that means we must book another trip soon!! I would definitely choose to stay here again! We had a very nice family vacation!!
