My family and I stayed here from 12/9-12/15, in the Magnolia Terrace building, room 8607. The grounds and buildings are beautiful, and I definitely recommend the Magnolia Terrace building, as it is so close to a bus stop, pools and the main building. This resort is VERY spread out, and a walk to a bus stop or the food court could be quite long, so make sure you request certain buildings if you go.
The food court was great, lots of choices, lots of seats and prices were average. No complaints at all, but this food court can get very busy at breakfast time. We did not try Boatwrights, but it looked nice.
Check in was smooth, and CM Vicky was more than helpful to us, we were very pleased. We had no lines at check in, and the only rude person we encountered here worked in bell services, everyone else was excellent.
Housekeeping was great, our rooms were very clean and replenished daily. They did a wonderful job.
We also loved the quiet pool, there was hardly anyone ever there and it was so peaceful and relaxing!
Here's why this resort is just okay in my opinion. The bus situation was awful. We had no problem getting busses within 15 minutes to the parks from the East Depot, though about 50% of the time it was standing room only. This by itself would have been fine...however, at the end of the evening, even before closing, when you need a bus back to the resort, GOOD LUCK. This resorts bus stop was ALWAYS the longest line, and at one point, we waited an hour and a half for a bus. Other nights we waited 45min-1 hour. It was terrible. People were taking taxis back to the resort because of the long waits. No other resort had lines like this, not even close. I have stayed at several Disney properties and have never experienced anything like this. There really needs to be something done about this. Because of this, we will not stay here again.
If you have a rental car, this would probably be perfect otherwise, but beware of the transportation problems that come with Riverside.
