“Love the hotel and location – definitely would recommend”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 22, 2013

On the surface, the Hard Rock Hotel seems a little pricey for a hotel when most of your intention is to be in the parks. After staying the weekend at the HRH, I would say it is worth every penny. The service from the time we rolled up and our car door was opened to the moment we left, the staff was friendly and accommodating. It seemed like the staff really enjoyed working there and it showed in the treatment of the guests. We had a garden room on the 2nd floor – the room is nothing to brag about itself. I will say that the bathroom seemed child size. I am petite and found the faucet and tub very low and the toilet small in size. Other than the few rock photos on the wall, you wouldn’t think you were in the “Hard Rock Hotel”. Its once you walk around the hotel that the memorabilia reminds you were you are., whether its in the restaurant or even by the elevator on your floor – there is rock history everywhere. The hotel has a great breakfast buffet in “The Kitchen” - $20 for adults, $5 for kids between 7-9am (Coffee and juice was included). Eggs, sausage, bacon, waffles, pancakes, omelet station, etc.. all very tasty and fresh. This was perfect because it allowed us to enjoy our 1 hr early access into the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. The parks are only a 5 minute walk, much faster to walk than to take the shuttle boat. The premises of the hotel is beautiful with freshly cut grass and blooming flowers. Coming back, we had ice cream at Emack & Bolio, very fresh and creamy, unique flavors. Definitely a place to stop by. The true value of the hotel is the Universal Express Passes. The lines had a 30-45 minutes wait, however, we were able to show our pass and walk right onto the rides. Going to the parks with kids on a possible rainy day – this is a must have! If we were to buy these passes, it would be over $150 alone for my family! I will definitely be back to this hotel .

We stayed with our kids on 7th April to 10th April on the club floor and had a great time. The customer service overall was excellent.

We wanted to single out Nelson in particular who not only made us welcome but went out of his way to ensure we were happy. As a specific example he even saw us outside of the hotel walking down the sidewalk and offered us a ride in his car. This is above and beyond.

A special mention must also go to Peter and Britney who were also tremendously friendly and helpful.

We had the opportunity to stay at Hard Rock Hotel/Universal this past week. We were vacationing with 2 of our grandkids and their Dad. What a great time we had! The hotel sent an amenity up...the room had a view of the great pool area...the kids loved it all. Thank you so much Hard Rock staff and management for making it a vacaction to remember.

The pool cleanliness has much to be desired but overall the stay was nice. Rented a cabana, which was not worth it, as there are many shaded areas around the pool. Stayed on the club level rooms, which is a must, because you get a really good breakfast every morning, and snacks and drinks all day, with free beer and wine at night.

Stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel Orlando for 14 nights and my parents have already booked up for another 2 weeks next year is was that good! The staff are so friendly and nothing is too big a problem for them. Every last thursday of the month a gig is held in the velvet lounge, and as i was staying in the hotel, was allowed to watch the band playing (however not get drink as i was under 21 and did not have a ticket!) HRH is suitably situated within walking distance to Universal Studios and citywalk; and a complimentary water taxi is available for those staying on the Universal premises. If you plan to visit Universal Studios a complimentary fastpass is given with a valid theme park admission ticket, therefore can skip regular lines in all rides apart from, Harry Potter's Forbidden Journey and Rip-ride Rocket.

What's more is that they play classic rock music 24/7 all around the hotel, even under the water in the swimming pool. What more could you want!!!!
The only downside it is an expensive hotel to stay in... but well WELL worth the money.

We have just stayed at this Hotel for 2 nights as part of our 3 week honeymoon and it is fair to say it definitely had the wow factor for us.

As soon as we arrived we were met immediately and our car valet parked, whilst our bags were taken straight to our room. We were slightly early arriving but were told that our room was ready. The greeting we received at reception was personal, friendly and very welcoming. We were directed to the fast pass terminals to get our free fast passes for us to use with our park tickets. This could not have been an easier process as you just insert your room key, have your picture taken and are issued with a fast pass immediately.

We had booked a garden room which is sizeable with 2 queen beds. The only minor complaint we had about the room was that it was quite noisy with children running in the corridors in the morning.

As soon as we arrived at our room there was a knock at the door and a delivery of 2 champagne glasses filled with hershey kisses, a note congratulating us on our honeymoon and an invitation to participate in a treasure hunt which would have led us to the bar for a free drink. As we were keen to hit Citywalk we did not complete this but thought it was a lovely "different" gesture.

The shuttle boat from the hotel to the parks is excellent. It runs approx every 20 mins and the last boat is at 2 am.

We did not use the pool but did have a drink one evening at the pool bar. It appears to be a great place to relax if you are there as a family. It is open until 11 pm and clearly a number of people were making the most of the facilities after a day at the parks.

We did visit Velvet on our last evening for a drink. Again the staff were great however the ambience on that particular evening was not what we were looking for. It was full of rather pretentious business men clearly at a conference and we only stayed for one drink.

We would definitely recommend this hotel for location and service.

This was my first trip to Hard Rock and was very impressed! I took my teenage son and one of his friends to stay here during spring break. I was impressed with the pool area and the level of service you receive...I definately recommend staying club level! One con I have is that at check in no one explained the music choices you can have in your room or some of the other perks I heard being told to the other guests. So I would make sure you ask upon check in. The rooms were very clean and the ferry to the parks is nice. One thing I was impressed with was how good the food was at the Beach Club! The boys loved it! The express pass you use as your room key is the best thing at the parks as well! I tried the meal deal at the park and it really wasn't worth it, but the refillable cup is. I absolutely loved the atmosphere at this hotel and the convenience of being right at city walk and the parks! The beds in the room have to be one of the most comfortable ones I've ever slept in! I will definately be staying here again! I read where other guests complained about the music playing loud all the time, but from what I experienced it wasn't loud at all.

Room Tip: Stay at club level!
