I stayed here at the end of August on a 'stay four, play free' package which includes admission to the two theme parks for two adults for the duration of the stay. You must stay for at least four nights to take advantage of this offer. To be honest having visited the two parks several times previously, by the end of day three, having used the room key to gain 'Express' access to the front of the line for all the big rides numerous times, we began to tire. In other words, you do not really need to tie up four days of your Orlando vacation at Universal.

Ironically on our last day, there were no lines for many of the big rides such as duelling dragons, which minimized the benefits of room key express.

The hotel itself was great. Room was clean and nicely furnished although not particularly spacious. We found the bed to be firm but supremely comfortable.

My 10 year old daughter loved the vast and very attractive pool which at times was fairly busy although never overcrowded.

As you would expect the hotel had all the facilities you would hope to find at a $200 plus per night superior quality hotel. Dining at the several restaurants was expensive and to be honest we went outside some of the time.

We loved the oppulent lobby area and bar where the drinks were not too expensive.

Location is great, just a short walk or complimentary water taxi to the theme parks or City Walk with its array of bars and restaurants. We dined at Hard Rock Cafe one evening, although had to endure an hour long wait to be seated and slow service thereafter.

Two small gripes though. One - Parking is charged at $7 per night. I have never paid to park at a US hotel before. Two - My daughter opened a bottle of water in the room and we discovered that it was an outrageous $7 per bottle. Prior to the Royal Pacific, we stayed in a $69 per night Hampton Inn and the bottled water was complimentary. (The price was indicated on a label on the neck of the bottle in small print)

Staff were helpful and friendly and I can find little to fault with this hotel. You do however pay serious money for an excellent range of facilities and benefits. If you are unlikely to use these you are probably better off looking elsewhere and saving some cash.

Stayed at the Royal Pacific 6/29/05 for 3 nights. Beautiful landscaping and breathe-taking entrance lead into a magnificent lobby area. Great service, quick check-in - reception staff extremely efficient and very friendly. Were given a 7th floor room with a view of the theme park - Dr Doom and Hulk rides clearly visible - WOW and the lake! After reading previous reviews we were a little concerned about the cleanliness of the hotel rooms, but needn't have worried, the room was spotless, lovely bathroom and the bed was firm but very comfy. Lovely pool area, although we never used it, spent all our time in the theme parks and citywalk in the evenings. We ate mostly in the parks and in the evenings at citywalk so much more choice and more cost effective (NBA City great food and service!).
The water taxi from the hotel into citywalk is very convenient and operates approx every 20 mins, but its only a five minute walk from the hotel via a lovely walkway so we mostly did this.
The hotel door key doubles up as an Express pass and this was totally invaluable - no queues the entire stay on any of the rides. We did hulk six times in a row - awesome. Universal is definitely the best theme park in Orlando we love it, and have booked to return to the RP the same time next year only this time we're staying for 7 nights. I can't recommend this hotel enough for comfort and convenience in a beautiful setting and those express passes. I'm a travel agent and was recommended this hotel by previous clients, I wasn't disappointed in fact pleasantly surprised. Will absolutely recommend this hotel to my future clients.

“Stayed August 17-21 and LOVED it”

Had a room with pool view and park view. Whole family loved the pool. There was volleyball and basketball in the pool as well as the spray area.
Boats to the park ran frequently, but during thunder storms, you can take a bus instead. Ate a CityWalk every night (NBA City, Hard Rock, Margaritaville) and at hotel's luana one night. Luau was $50/person including tax and tip. Not really an authentic luaua, though. It is basically steam tables of polynesioan-style food and a hula show on stage.
Breakfast at hotel delicious, but expensive. $10 french toast or $16.50 buffet for eggs, bacon, pancakes, etc. Front of the line privileges make it worth every penny.

The Royal Pacific hotel is a beautiful building. It has a tropical feel and makes you stay right a home. I would go back with my family anytime I could. The fast passes really worked! I didnt know that we would get through the line faster than that many people. We spent our time at this hotel the first time we went to Universal and they made us want to go back. So we are going in Sept. see you there!

I read some negative reviews after booking this vacation and wondered if maybe I'd made a mistake. Glad to say I didn't. The rooms were a normal
size, didn't spend much time in it anyway. The lobby is beautiful and the
perfect place to sit in air conditioning. The rooms were clean and the maid
service was great. Like the idea of controlled climate air......the temp was
always right!

Staff was very friendly, always greeting you in the halls. We had a room at
the very end and it was nice and quiet. The pool was beautiful and the service
around the pool was top-notch. Very relaxing atmosphere and the tropical
decor was incredible... next best thing to being on an island.

Don't like paying for parking but have done it at other hotels. Also, the restaurants are a bit pricey but, hey, you're on vacation so treat yourself
once in a while! The service and food are great!

Although nothing is ever perfect, I don't know why someone would give
this resort such a bad review. It really is beautiful.
