“nice place, but...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 2, 2004

We have stayed at the Royal Pacific before. It is a very nice hotel with good service, clean rooms, and an easy walk to Universal. We like to stay there because of the Express Pass you get with the room key. That is worth the premimum you pay for the room. I would advise that anybody coming in the summer be prepared for the pool water to be HOT!!. The water temperature in the pool was near 100, it was not in the least refreshing. Also, we had a room in Tower 1 on the same floor as the lobby. Don't get these as any noise in the hallway is amplified straight into the room. We told our son who is 5 to be quiet in the halls as a common courtey to other guests. I guess other teens and adults don't practice this.

We stayed at the Royal Pacific mid April of 2004. We stayed for 4 days, and took advantage of the "front of the line" with your keycard at Universal Studios (that alone made the hotel worth it). We had a standard room with two double beds. The room was adequate size - we overlooked the pool (very nice view).

The pool here is great for kids - it has a gradual incline and allows the kids who can't swim well to play without parents in the water (still nearby). They also have a "water park" type of ship that lets them spray each other and get soaked (very cool).

If you are going to the Universal parks, this is the place to stay - you can easily walk to the park, or take the complimentary boat shuttle which takes off pretty often.

There is also a pretty good game room for after hours fun.

My daughter is young, so after a day at the park, she was spent. I stayed in the room and ordered room service every night - the food is excellent! They even made some things for us that weren't on the menu (excellent for kids!).

I can't say enough about this hotel. They definately make you feel like royalty when you stay there. We will be back!

We spent four nights -- June 6-10-- at the RPR. The resort is beautifully landscaped with nicely appointed rooms, half again as big as those we had at Disney's All-Star Movies Resort, which we loved too. The staff at the check-in desk is superb. Our room was on the 6th floor of Tower 2 and overlooked the front of the hotel with a view of IOA and CityWalk. We really enjoyed the lush surroundings, the great pool and the boat ride to the parks. One warning: the use of the room key cards as "Front of the Line" (FOTL) access cards at Universal Studios and Island of Adventure will spoil you; you won't be as satisfied if you go without this VERY VALUABLE perk. We had 5-day passes to USF/IOA (the hotel card IS NOT a ticket to the parks) and spent every minute bouncing from one ride to another with a very minimum of wait time, even on the new Revenge of the Mummy which had lines outside and down the block. Speaking of perks, we received our Loew's First perks of wine and nuts a day late, but no big deal. We did not get an upgrade because the place was booked solid, not because we had booked at a very good rate through Entertainment. The restaurant prices are high, but not unexpected for a high-dollar resort. Emiril's Tchoup Chop had its flaws, particularly the hosting staff, but the food was delicious if you fancy the cuisine. I'd have lopped off half a star from this rating if the waitstaff hadn't treated us so royally. Overall, I'd go back in a second if I could. I'll simply have to wait until Christmas.

We stayed for 2 nights at the RPH at Universal Studios.
I want to say how much we enjoyed the room and the service at this hotel.
Everyone was friendly and warm with all the information needed for any question I had.
The hotel was spotless and very beautiful.
I saw 2 dogs but never heard a noise from them.
Being a dog lover I was impressed to see that they were allowed here.
The front of the line entrance to the rides was worth the cost of this hotel. As some of the waits topped 70 minutes or more.
I will be back to Orlando and this hotel again

Overall, the stay was pleasant and the express passes from the hotel made the vacation wonderful because we didn't have to stand in line. However, I joined the LoewsFirst program for a few extra perks and one of the hotel clerks told me because I booked my vacation through a third party (SWA vacations) I got a special rate and didn't get the perks. Also, they didn't have our room ready at 4:00 and so we didn't get our free upgrade to a pool view room. This was disappointing. Also, several rides were closed on and off during our stay, and some broke down more often than I expected. Also, the food in the hotel was very pricey and not really all that good. Overall, though, not having to stand in line was worth the price of the room.

My Wife and and two Boys (13 & 15) stayed for seven days in the first part of June. The view from our room was great and we loved the tropical theme of the hotel. The staff were also very friendly. We used the services of the Concierge quite a bit. The express passes were great both at the parks and the restaurants at CityWalk. This is one of the best vacations we ever had and the Hotel had a lot to with it.

My family stayed at the royal pacific in march of this year and we loved it. The express passes were totally worth the stay. The short walk from the hotel to both parks was very enjoyable. The walking path was lined with beautiful flowers and foilage. the islands dining lounge was wonderful. The food was fresh and cooked to perfection. The spinich cheese omlettes for breakfast were wonderful. Had a beautiful view of the pool from our room. Would definitely stay here again.
