“big and loud. pick the other all start resort hotels!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 20, 2013

i will be reviewing disneys all star music resort, reflecting on my own personal experience and discussing my likes and dislikes. i am 19, who travels to disney world every year with my family. we have stopped at all 3 of the all star resort hotels, and have only been to this hotel once. we visited with a large group including elders, one of which is disabled. we truly love the other all star resort hotels but this one offers a great deal of issues which is why we have decided not to return here to spend our holiday. these are based of my experience whilst stopping there as a guest.

i will start of by saying, we stopped at this hotel during spring break, so we were already expecting crowds and noise wherever we stopped, there was no getting away from it, but mixing in the crowds with this resort became something more than a challenge!! i will begin however by discussing my likes.

-LIKES-

this resort, like the other resorts of the all stars are set out in the same way. and this is the resort placed in the middle of the 3, which is second to be picked up and second to be dropped off. so its not to bad when dealing with the disney transport, but when you visit disney world at a busy time of year, there's not getting away from the crowds you just have to grin and bare it. the rooms are set out the same in all, all star resorts, however the all star music was the first out of all the all star resorts to offer suites. we have never stayed in a suite so i cannot comment on the quality, however the standard rooms are perfect for young children and adults, the beds are comfy, the rooms are cleaned Regularly and the resort offers all you would expect from a value resort.

-DISLIKES-

as stated in the title of this review this resort is big. its the biggest of all the resorts. we were foolish not to look into the size of the resort before we traveled which is something i highly recommend you do! as we travel with elders we always request preferred close rooms on booking. on arrival we were given our room number and block and only when we started walking did we realize how far back we were! this resort stretches so far back it can become a 10 minute walk just to get to and from your rooms to get to the buses, food court and check in. we did request to be moved but due to the busy times we were denied a room change. be warned, you could be placed right at the back and the walk can become draining and tiring in the florida head!

also stated in the title is, how loud this resort is!! because its the music, they really do live up to their name. the music and entertainment, whilst its fantastic for young children officially takes away any sort of relaxation around the pool. sunbathing, forget about it, unless you love loud thumping bumping music. personally i would have set times when entertainment was set for, but it carried on pretty much all night. i would not have liked being placed in a room over looking the pool. it would have been a nightmare!! whilst other resorts of the all stars also offer pool side entertainment it is not all the time and the music isn't as loud, allowing you to relax at the same time.

those issues to me are big ones, and i was not to impressed with the customer service at this hotel either. i would strongly recommend you,

1) go on youtube and view the size of the hotel!
2) go on youtube judge the poolside entertainment for yourself
3)check what events are going on, during your chosen date of travel, be warned of the crowds in advance
4)pay or highly request a preferred room before travel!! this resort is massive and the walk is tiring! it can take it out on anyone

if you require any further advice regarding this hotel please feel free to message me. i hope i helped you decide whether this resort is right for you, but i think its aimed personally at young teens or small children, certainly not for couples!!

If you want value, the All-Star Resorts are for you. If you want luxury, don't come here. These are very basic motel room type accomodations. It was a friends long weekend away to run a Disney race so these accomodations were perfect for us. There pools are good sizes and never seemed busy. The front staff is very good and solved all our issues.

My husband and I recently spent 3 nights at the All-Star Music resort. We are Disney Vacation Club members and have been staying at the deluxe resorts for the past few years but we needed a hotel last minute that was affordable and All-Star Music it was. As a child I have stayed at the All-Star resorts MANY times. The resorts are very family friendly and oriented. The resorts are large with only having a bus stop at the front so if you stay in a back building, which we did, you have a little bit of a walk. This was not a problem for us but may be for some and this is why these resorts offer preferred buildings that you can pay extra for. Our room was clean and comfortable but compared to the deluxe resorts they were very small and the bed quality is obvious, again for us this was not a big deal. The food options at the food court were plentiful and affordable! If you have a Tables of Wonderland discount card, the discount offers 20% at the food court which was great! The pools were clean as well as the pool furniture. The only negative experience we had was when we were checking out, we waiting over an hour for bell services to get to our room to get our luggage. This was VERY inconvenient and we called to complain twice and nothing was done about it. So, if you're looking for an affordable Disney hotel, The All-Star resorts offer a great vacation but with no luxury.

Room Tip: If you don't want to have a far walk from your room to the buses pay for a preferred room.

My husband and I, were very satisfied with our room, although it is ot a superior room it is nice and clean, with little gadgets unique to Disney. We had bought the Play, Eat and Fun Package (quick meals) and were very pleased with the choice of restaurants. We had a very good deal and had a room near the restaurants and transportation. Few years ago, we were staying at the Disney Caribbean Beach Resort which is a moderate hotel, but far more expensive. The All Star suited the purpose of our trip: park the car and leave there, jump in the Disney Transportation Bus and relax. Plus, we benefited of early entrance to a specific Park every day. The only disappointment was that they had removed the Disney characters in the middle of the main pool, as shown on their web site.
I would recommend it to anyone.

Now if you are looking for fancy, do not stay here. If you are at Walt Disney World on a budget, this is one of the resorts for you. I have been to Disney World four times with my family. My family includes myself, my mom, my dad, and my two sisters. My sisters are 10 and 3. We stayed at the All-Stars Sports and Port Orleans Riverside before. We stayed from February 28 through March 8. We enjoyed getting picked up from the airport and taken to our resorts on Disney's Magical Express. I loved the video. It was very informational, yet fun to watch. Upon arrival, my father got us checked in. This was a very easy process because we had already did the online check-in. The outside of the resort was very nice looking. They took care of everything so well. The lobby was not stunning, but it still looked good. There was a big couch facing a TV with Disney Cartoons. The restrooms in Melody Hall were nice. Also, inside Melody Hall was a food court, arcade, and store. Mastero Mickey's, the store, was well stocked. My family went in there at least once a day and still found new stuff to look at. We ate at the Intermission Food Court a lot since we had quick service dining. When you exit the main building and head towards the rooms, the landscape is beautiful. Straight ahead is a guitar-shaped swimming pool. The Calypso Pool is huge. It is also heated. Even though a couple of nights it was chilly, there were still people swimming, and the lifeguards were wearing winter hats and gloves. Our room was in the Jazz Inn section. There was a fountain in the middle. The room was a family suite. It was great for our family. Mom and Dad slept in the bedroom while the kids slept in the living room. I was on the pull-out couch, and my sisters were on the pull-out bench and chair. The room was just re-painted. It had a lot of space and looked nice. The resort was crowded when we were there. A lot of teams who complete at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex stay at the All-Star Resorts. There just happen to be two cheer leading compititions when we were there. The food court had very good food. Notable Games Arcade had a lot of games. I enjoyed setting records at the basketball games. The resort also had a laundry room. The bus wait times were a little long. The bus rides were not very long except for Downtown Disney, which are also extremely crowded because they go to all the All-Star Resorts. The Disney Cast Members were great as always. Even when we needed something extra, they were there right away. The room key scanner ran out of battery at our room. We couldn't get into our room for awhile. The Cast Members helped out a lot and solved the problem. Overall the hotel was good, and the Disney theme made it better.

Room Tip: Calypso and Jazz Inn are the two buildings nearest the main building. The Broadway and Rock Inn are...

We have stayed here a few times and the price point and amenities are appropriate for the family on a budget who wants to stay inside the gates of Disney. This location gives you access to the Disney Transit system which connects you to whatever area you want to visit in Disney World.

The pools are all centrally located and the kids love getting in them after a long day at the parks. They also have a large cafeteria and games room which are very reasonably priced.

If you look for lush accommodations, this is not the place for you. It has all the amenities you need considering you are spending most of your day away from the resort and in the parks. It serves a family and your needs well based on the price point and its location.

We are a family of 5 with our kids all under the age of 10. Our youngest still falls under the 3 year old cut off for hotels/tickets however the options for families greater than 4 are limited on Disney property. We selected the All Star Music resort mainly for value as we wanted the in-park experience but didn't want to pay high prices. We were very surprised by our experience. We got to the hotel early (9:00am) and were extremely surprised to find that our room was ready for us! We were given keys and the all-important parking pass. We are Florida residents and with the stroler we find it easier to take our car versus the bus system with the exception of the Magic Kingdom. The parking pass alone equated to $42.00 in savings for the three days we hit the parks.
Our room was extremely clean and had two double beds and a pack and play for our youngest to sleep in. The room also had a refrigerator which was a nice to have. My one recommendation here, or with any Disney property is to pay for a preferred room. Unless you are in a deluxe hotel paying for a view in my opinion is not worth the cost as all value and moderate resorts have outdoor corridors and to leave your curtains open means that people can look in to your room while you are looking out. The preferred room does get you closer to the main building for drinks/food etc, and usually the pool area as well. We were in the Calypso building which is closest to the lobby.
The beds were extremely comfortable as were the pillows. The room was by no means large, but was open enough to have the pack and play open the entire time and not be in the way. There is a small table and two chairs as well.
We requested additional pillows from Housekeeping which they were happy to bring us and we came back to different towel-animals each day including a bunny rabbit toothbrush holder on the sink and one in our window. On the bed was mousears made out of three towels. This is a nice touch that the kids absolutely love.
The grounds are beautiful and the pools were spotless. At night they have a movie outside in the pool area that you can watch from a lounge chair or the pool itself if you wish. There are also scheduled kids activities throughout the day.
I am sure you can stay close to disney for a little less than the $120 a night we paid for this hotel, but adding in the extra hours you can visit the park because you are staying on property as well as the no-charge parking or transportation and not losing the Disney feeling... I truly believe this is the best value for a Disney vacation.

Room Tip: The extra $20 for a preferred room is well worth the money to be closer to the main lobby area... Th...
