“Very Nice Resort...Except For The Beds”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2014

My wife and I stayed here for a three night getaway and were very happy with the resort. I have a lot of good things to say about it.

Doing research...I read a lot of reviews saying that the walks to the rooms were horrible because the resort was soooo big. Yes...the resort is large. But what do you expect when there is a big, picturesque lake in the middle of it? I didn't find the walk bad at all. It's Disney, after all, and I expect to do a lot of walking when there. And if you want...they will give you a ride to or from your room. We called for a ride once...as my wife (who is pregnant) caught the flu bug and was so sick we thought it would be good to go to the hospital. The bellman came in a matter of minutes to give us a ride to the front of the complex.

The resort itself is very nice. There is a nice running or walking path around the lake. The pool is also very nice. There were a good amount of kids there...but it wasn't overwhelming. So if you're going there with only adults...you will be fine. The market restaurant in the lobby was great. It has a lot of different stations...so you can eat there every night and eat totally different meals each time. And the prices were very reasonable. One night I had a huge chef salad and it was like $10.

I can't speak highly enough about the people who work there. The lady who checked us in was nice and answered all questions...as did the concierge. There were two VERY sweet ladies in the market who gave me saltines and ginger ale when I was on a search to find something for my sick wife to stomach. The cleaning service ladies were also very nice when I asked for extra towels for my wife.

The bus transportation was also great. We stayed in a cabana room...and were a minute walk from bus stop #4. We never waited more than ten minutes to get the bus we were waiting for. One suggestion...if you're headed to the Boardwalk...take the bus to Disney Hollywood Studios. From there you can either walk along the river...or take a boat. It is much quicker and easier than taking a bus to Downtown Disney and then the Boardwalk (which we did!!). Also...the free Magical Express to and from the airport couldn't have gone smoother. My opinion...you have to factor the money in that you save by getting a free ride to/from the hotel when pricing out hotels.

The only bad thing about our stay (other than my wife getting sick)...were the beds. The bathroom was small and the rooms were a little dated. But really...we didn't plan to be in the room that much...just sleep and shower. You can have busy long days...so sleep is in important in Disney. But these beds were pretty bad. The pillows weren't much better.

This was a moderate resort...and also the first time that I have ever stayed on property at Disney. We walked around the Yacht and Beach Clubs and the Boardwalk Villas and they were awesome...with probably more comfortable beds. But the premium resorts like these simply weren't in our budget.

I will say that we will stay here again. Overall we were very happy with it. The grounds were very picturesque and the staff was very, very accommodating. I just wish they beds were a little more comfy.

The Coronado Springs resort is classified by Disney as one of their 'moderate' resorts, as in a step up from their budget 'All-Star' resorts, offering a reasonable price for pleasant accommodations. The facility is quite large and spread out, which means it was never truly crowded or uncomfortable during our stay, but additional planning had to be made regarding travel times by walking or bus. If you take the Disney's Magical Express Motorcoaches to and from Orlando airport, the drive is reasonable, and there are no other stops between the airport and the resort, although you will have All-Stars resort guests joining you on the ride. Location of the bus stops should also be noted, if you are taking the bus service to the parks or other resorts; Stop 2 is probably the best, as you are the first to get off when returning to the resort, and you can easily walk to Stop 1 for pickup to go to the parks or elsewhere, without spending additional time on the buses. The pools are all clean and well maintained, with plenty of chairs and towels. The grounds are well maintained as well, which allowed for many pleasant walks around the facility. Staff was pleasant and helpful throughout the stay. The hotel gift shop was one of the more extensive ones compared to other resort gift shops that we encountered, and was helpful to get items we missed during our days in the park. I went on my most recent trip as a couple, but I can definitely see this resort as a great place to bring a large family or group, as the flexibility of the resort allows for parts of groups to all find something they enjoy; plenty of parking allows for easy car transportation if you choose to forego the Disney buses (which has its advantages and disadvantages). The price is also non-prohibitive with larger groups. Unfortunately I cannot speak for the dining in the resort, as we were either eating in the parks or in some of the other resorts' restaurants to experience different parts of Disney.

We have tried many of the WDW resorts and this is a good mid-price with big resort feel. The rooms were comfortable but water view means step out on the walk way and look for the water. Check in was a bit too long but the new fast bracelets are great. The food court was just that - a food court of basic offerings. Taking the bus - remember your station. If you get off at the wrong stop - it will be a very long hike. Room service was about an hour. The grandkids liked it but preferred Saratoga springs and of course Grand Floridian. However, if going to the parks all day - this works well. All in all - it was very good.

Room Tip: Go for basic room and save money for the parks.

We stayed here for our 5 year anniversary and had a wonderful stay! We have stayed at a variety of Disney properties and have now found our favorite. We stayed in the business class section and it was definitely worth the upgrade. We had a fantastic breakfast in the morning and snacks, beer, wine and sangria in the evening, the servers in the lounge were fantastic! Our room was spacious, nicely decorated and very comfortable. There was plenty of room in the bathroom, I loved the shampoo, conditioner and shower gel that were provided. The pool and hot tub were gigantic! The waterside was a lot of fun, way better than any of the other resorts we have stayed at, we only wished the pool was open later. The best part of our stay was the bus transportation, Coronado Springs is the most centrally located hotel in Disney! We never had to wait more than a few minutes for a bus (at both the resort and the parks) and the travel time to the parks was really quick, even to Downtown Disney. I still want to stay at every Disney property, but of all the ones I've stayed at so far, Coronado Springs was my favorite!

This place was awesome. The rooms were excellent and the pool and gym were very impressive. We cant wait to go back. The free shuttle to all the parks and everything was really really nice. We used it all the time. Make sure you get magic bands for the rooms :)

This is Disney so you pay a premium. The room is outdated and felt dirty. The bathroom wasn't clean, with a dirty floor and the walls seemed yellowish. Our beds appeared quickly thrown together, and we couldn't adjust the temperature so we had to pull the blankets from one bed onto the other. Received a wake-up call we did not request. The outside walkways were wet and very slippery. It took well over an hour to check-in and the staff was generally unfriendly. Disappointing for Disney.

Very clean, nicely themed hotel. We frequently stay here. Ample bus stops, nice outdoor bar, numerous pools, and the Pepper Market is a nice QS dining experience. This hotel is def. an upgrade to a Value Resort.
