“Enjoyable and look forward to future stays”

Our third time staying at Disney's French Quarter Resort. It never disappoints. Quaint grounds and friendly staff. The onsite cafeteria-style restaurant has a good selection and ample portions. Even though the resort has over 1000 rooms, it never feels crowded. Good access to Downtown Disney with the ferry boats. Disney Transportation buses worked very well: comfortable with frequent service. Airport bus was prompt.

We've visited Florida ever since I was a young girl and have always stayed in villas. I will now always stay in a Disney hotel especially the French quarter! I was so amazed when we walked through the doors into the main lobby and was greeted by the receptionist to check us in. I was amazed at where I was! We had the advantage of using the magic bands and had no problems at all! After a long day walking around the parks I would definitely recommend taking a dip in the hot tub next to the pool! Makes you relax to the max! Only thing I would say is that the canteen doesn't have much of a variety for dinner meals but I have also heard that the Riverside has a better selections. We took the boat to downtown Disney and would definitely recommend this rather than the bus to downtown Disney purely because it can get really busy at night (we waited 30 minutes and 5 buses to try and get back). Also top tip if you want to beat the queues, you can fast pass+ at the reception desk so when you get to the parks you can do all of the rides you wish too with your selected times :)
Staff are lovely, hotel grounds are beautiful, service is outstanding, would definitely go back!!

We went in January when the cold front hit. The Dragon pool was closed but they were so nice and had a golf cart to take us to a different pool/hot tub/play area Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside and WOW we loved it more than the dragon so ended up happy it was closed. And the pool slide was awesome, not scary for kids but u go down fast and our 5yr old had not 1 bit of fright and the pool was warm. Very good life guard workers. Our 1st time at French Qtr we had a corner room, by stairs..........that was so noisy so we had much more peace this time. What is so amazing at French Quarters that we LOVE is queen beds and not a far walk to bus station. Great shops even if your kids get a fever they have meds there. Great cafeteria, very affordable. I like to try new places but hard to find queen beds so if that's a must quit looking and book this plus it's worth the money, and very clean and u don't feel like it's cheap, u get your moneys worth. Wish it had more elevators but rather not deal with construction so forget I said that lol.

Room Tip: Choose top floor and not a corner room.

Good hotel, it would be fantastic with some renovations. Bed was a nightmare, saggy and so uncomfortable. No soundproofing what so ever, I could hear every toilet flush. We stayed on the river side, so you can hear the boat horns till about 11:30, I'm a river rat so I didn't mind that, but others may not care for that. On to the good! Room was very clean and a decent size, although i could see it being a tight fit for more than 4 people, bathroom was small but I didn't stay at the hotel for the bathrooms! The grounds were just beautiful. Didn't get to see the pool, it was closed for maintenance, it was very cold when we went, so had no intention of swimming anyway.Staff was very pleasant and quick to respond to any needs, the bus to Disney and boat to downtown was just awesome! Food court was nice, quality of food was pretty good, it was expensive, but you did get a LOT of food! Overall I enjoyed the hotel, and if they ever refurbish with new beds, I would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: Try to get a room on the top floor to avoid noise!

Port Orleans, French Quarter at Disney World is a great place. The Grounds are small, but you will have no problem getting to bus or boat. Rooms are always very clean and the staff were excellent. Always ready to go out of their way to help with anything requested. Stayed here one other time. So worth staying on the property. The food served on the property was a counter serve, but always hot and good. Large pool with a great slide.

Room Tip: Corner room by boat. Best!!

We stayed here for the first time in Jan. 2014. We had two fears about POFQ: (1) the allegedly long bus routes through PO Riverside; and (2) the rooms at POFQ open to the outside rather than a hallway. Those fears were unfounded. Over 6 days of riding the buses, we never once stopped at PO Riverside. Most of the time we had a dedicated bus that went only between POFQ and the parks. As for the doors, it was a non-issue. We never felt unsafe at all.

The room size was as expected. Not great, but we knew that going in. Biggest complaints about the room: (1) safe was only big enough for a tiny laptop or iPad, which prevented me from bringing my regular laptop or leaving an expensive camera in the room [nitpicky, I realize]; (2) the walls are thinner than I would like, and we heard a lot of conversations by the family of 13 (or so it seemed) in the room next door; (3) the toilets are powerful and loud, so you will hear your neighbors' (particularly above you) flush in the middle of the night; (4) there is no door between the sink area and the room, only a curtain to draw closed; and (5) there are no extra sheets handy because there is nowhere to store them in the closet less room. But…we knew these limitations going in, and I think the price we paid was very reasonable for a clean room on a lovely property with frequent buses to the various parks. We would easily stay here again. Might get 2 rooms next time though.

Final notes: I would not suggest paying for an upgraded view. Ask for a corner room to limit the number of neighbors. The food court was much better than I expected -- friendly service, limitless refills, and pretty good beignets. Theming of the property is well done. POFQ is fairly compact, so it is easy to walk anywhere.

We stayed here in late January. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. A couple of attendants outside actually entertained our kids with jokes while we waited for our airport shuttle on the way home. Speaking of traveling home, our boarding passes were printed for us and were waiting outside our door the am of our departure. Little things like that were common at this hotel, and I really appreciate these little guestures. Our room was ready upon our arrival at 11AM. I would agree with other travelers about requesting a third floor room. We found the hotel to be very quiet. We never heard another guest. However, the toilets do flush loudly and I can only imagine that our two kids must have sounded like a herd of elephants to anyone staying below us, despite our efforts to keep them calm. The room was clean and we didn't personally have any issues with odors or squeaky mattresses/floors. There are a bunch of shelves in the bathroom area which made it so easy to keep everyone's stuff organized and accessible. Great for a family of 4. Everything is close enough. We used the bus and boat shuttles and unfortunately found them to be unreliable. Instead of rambling on with shuttle gripes, I would just recommend that you be able to roll with the punches. If you are adamant about getting someplace at a certain time, either get to the shuttle an hour early or pay for a taxi. Otherwise you are taking your chances. We were able to catch a shuttle within the 20 minute cited window about 60% of the time. On two occasions we waited 35-40 minutes and not because a shuttle was full...it just wasn't showing up. Game room is overpriced and some machines didn't work. We had a voucher for 100 "plays". The majority of the games "cost" 50 "plays" or more. Bottom line, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. With the new magic bands, I don't think would ever stay at a non disney property again. Your band is your room key, dining plan, spending money. I didn't have to carry anything!

Room Tip: Top (3rd) floor
