“Great Holiday Experience in Relaxed Environment”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2012

My partner and I investigated several Disney Hotels before selecting the Port Orleans French Quarter.

Our room was in building2 on the top floor with a view of the pool. The room itself was very spacious although had two King Sized beds rather than one superking, but they only have a few of these rooms and they were occupied. The double sinks were great and the condition and cleanliness was very good. The room offers a coffee maker (essential for us) and a fridge which we found to be extremely handy.

The maid service was very good and our room was cleaned fully daily and we were left with a couple of towel decorations a bear and a wedding cake! They were very cleverly done and a nice touch.

The location of the room was great to all the facilities including, boat pickup, bus pickup, resturant, swimming pool and shop. Our travel agent made an error with our room, however the reception staff were exteremly helpful and tried to rectify the issue as best as possible. If we had any questions over our two week stay all the staff were great.

The downsides that we found were that in fact the French Quarter isn’t as close to downtown Disney (short walk) as we initially thought. It’s not really worth paying extra for a River View room as the boats are extremely noisey and tend to beep none stop when travelling.

Overall a good choice and we would return to this hotel and certainly recommend it to friends.

Room Tip: Buildings 2 and 5 are central to all facilities

“Good Resort, easy to get around disney”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 14, 2012

We stayed here for 5 nights in November and the resort was pretty much as expected. I gave it three stars not because of a bad experience or something nit picky, but because I think it is good but not great place to stay.

Rooms: Motel style layout where your rooms open outside. Clean rooms and bathrooms, 2 double beds, free wifi. Good Rooms with the standard offerings. B+
Layout: Area was cute, not too crowded, easy to get around. B+
Food: Food court that was ok for what we needed, but as others have said, no sit down restaurants. Food court is more like a college kitchen. C - but expected
Location: Location was great, easy to get around disney, close to downtown disney if you want to go out there. B+
Buses: Overall we had good luck getting to the resorts, had to wait maybe 15 minutes twice, but overall pretty good. However there was a morning where we went to Hollywood Studios and noticed that the line for Magic kingdom was about 100 people long and people said there hadn't been a but in 20 minutes. A bus came for them and only about 40 got on so it must have been an even longer wait for some people. B
Staff: Was friendly and helpful, although I didn't talk to them too much. A-

Overall impression: Great place to stay, but I think if we went back we might try one of the budget resorts as this resort didn't really offer much more for us. If you book here though you won't be disappointed. Just know what you are getting. Have fun!

“Another wonderful vacation at Disney's Port Orleans FQ!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2012

We just got back from another stay at the WDW Resort in Florida - staying at Disney's Port Orleans, French Quarter Resort. It was FANTASTIC. We had a party of 13 and although we had different check-in days, the front desk did everything they could to keep us close together (within the same building/floor/etc).
The resort had been refurbished since our last stay two years ago and what an improvement! Now there are two queen beds (vs the previous two double beds) and the bathroom has been upgraded to include pedestal sinks with much more storage room for toiletries. We thoroughly enjoyed the space and additional shelf space!
The resort is just beautiful, kept remarkably clean and landscaping is just lovely.
The pool area is perfect for kids (and adult-kids, too!) and they have pool-side activities daily - so there's something for just about everyone. The lifeguards came up to my family and told us that we could "rent" lifejackets for our little daughters so that they could enjoy the pool more during our stay, which was awesome.
Our Mousekeepers were fairly good - some days better than others. (they didn't replace our soap or tissue boxes so we had to take care of that ourselves which was the only bad part - and that's a very minor issue)
The location to the parks is ideal at PO - only a couple minutes to each park, especially EPCOT and MK - the farthest park is AK, and even that is only 5 more minutes away.
I would highly recommend this resort to any family looking for a wonderful, on-property stay (with out breaking the bank!).

“Moderate priced beautiful Disney Resort. A+”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2012

Visited the French Quarter in early November. First off we used the Disney Magical Express which means that once we checked our bags at the airport Disney made sure they arrived in our room once we arrived. It's a great service coming and going home.
As far as the French Quarter, as expected it was amazing. Even though it is a typical shape room it was nicely laid out. Every thing was clean and cared for. Our room was relativily close to both the pool, lobby and food court. The grounds were very well manicured and like most things in Disney was clean and maintained.
I would recomend this place to friends and family. We had a magical time!

“nice hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 9, 2012

the disney french quarter is a very nice and clean hotel , the room was fine and clean but the furniture was stained and dated the check in was easy and fast but the concierge was of no help when i asked to make reservations at schulas steak house they wouldn't help me ( the dolphin hotel is on disney property but not a disney hotel) i was told to take the bus to down town disney then transfer. There is no direct bus service there you must take a boat or walk through epcot i learned this after being stuck on a bus for two hours yes two hours a bus hit a tree in front of us and all bus service was halted tou could not board or exit the bus until the accident was cleared. i would however like to thank wadson the bus driver who took time to speak with me and my wife and explain how to get to the restaurant he even called dispatch and asked if he could take us, dispatch said no. i would also like to thank chris woo was a bus escort who helped us get a bus on a sat night at 12 pm leaving pleasure island ( bus service is horrendous ) .
