“Can't wait to get back here!”

After a couple of years of waiting we finally got to go back to Disney and decided we wanted to stay at the Wilderness Lodge. From the second we walked in we were amazed. It so represents what grand lodges used to be. The front desk people were great and so helpful.

The room was a bit on the small side but just fine for our family of four. Bunks for the girls and a queen for the wife and I. The transportation was so easy, we could take a bus or one of the boats to Magic Kingdom. So much fun for the kids. The lodge has two restaurants, the Artist Point (Pricey but soooo worth it for one family meal), or the Whispering Canyon. The staff are great, the give you a hard time about everything in a fun and kidding manor. Hint, ask for ketchup.

The grounds were fantastic, the pool was awesome and my daughters didn't want to get out of it. Can't say enough great things about the Wilderness lodge.

Room Tip: Try to get a room with a view of Lake Buena Vista

My family of 3 (husband, self and 4 yr old)have just returned from 5 night visit. This was our 1st WDW trip as all went very well. I normally do not write reviews, but after months of stressing about the right location, I wanted to share our experience.
We selected the Wilderness Lodge due to the MK proximity and transportation options (water taxi and monorail access via the Contemporary).
The rooms are small, but it seems, aside from the Villas or Suites ( which are advertised as such), this is the standard room size. The features in the room were nice and our expectation was to not be in the room much. We had a balcony, which didn't seem to be standard at lower level resorts, so this expanded available 'living' space.
The food on property was good/average. We did not select the dining plan so that we had flexibility to eat where we wanted. We did have breakfast at the Whispering Canyon Cafe and several meals at Roaring Fork grab and go. Again all were good, pricey, but good. My comment about being pricey isn't hotel exclusive, but just part of visiting a theme park.
The most positive part and the reason that we would return again was the extras. My son loved the kid's play area (his version of a waterpark). After visiting the parks, he would ask to go to the play area and he loved it! The pool was nice with a larger water slide, that again, he loved. Each night the staff had a marshmallow roast and movie night on the beach. We had the quick service meals on take out at the beach so that he could enjoy the movie. This was a nice, relaxing end to busy day.
The electric water parade was a great surprise. On our last night, rather than fight the hustle bustle of watching the fireworks at MK, we took the water taxi to the Contemporary and watched from the Sky Bridge. You do not have the same experience of the fireworks (down-side) nor the crowds and traffic to leave (upside). This was a great and quick option with a small child.
Overall, very positive experience. This resort worked well for our family and I will definitely recommend this resort to others. Convenient, kid friendly, lots of activities.

Enjoyed the resort, too costly for the value, expected with disney, from cost of room to food cost, the travel from theme parks are convenient using boat , buses or personal car, we would stay there again

Room Tip: 3 rd or higher floor facing pool

The best thing about this hotel is getting to the Magic Kingdom via the Boat Ride - Room was just ok. I would choose to stay at a moderate again- Riverside perhaps. Would not pay the extra money for this deluxe hotel because it is not very deluxe. Lobby is great to look at....but pool was so crowded, no place to sit. Kiddie pool was closed one day due to construction (lots of construction going on). Beach area was nice. Room needed to be upgraded major. Rooms are same size as Port Orleans and not as nice. Food Court small. We have stayed almost everywhere on Disney property - I would opt for a moderate unless I could get into Grand Floridian or something.

Room Tip: We did have a room on the 6th floor - in the lodge itself. So the location was good but the view wa...

My sister and I spent months reviewing Disney hotels and deciding which one to choose. The Poly was our first choice, but due to the pool construction, we went with the Wilderness Lodge. Overall, we think we made a pretty great choice!

We stayed in room 5006; a woods view. The room is pretty hotel "standard." One plus for us was that the bathroom was just big enough to wedge the pack n play in at night and nap times for our 15 month old. A quiet, dark, separate place to sleep is a must for her.

Pros to the room and hotel: Could see some of the Magic Kingdom fireworks and Cinderella's castle lit up at night. Close to amenities (laundry room, Roaring Forks, pool). The transportation to and from other resorts and parks was pretty easy and quick (my biggest concern with a 15 month old). The ferry boats to MK were great!!! Quick and easy. Could get to AK in about 20 minutes via bus. The pool was enjoyable and the atmosphere was family friendly. The food and staff at Roaring Forks were great! Helpful, friendly and pretty good food. (With a little one, I ate multiple meals here and was always pleased)

The cons to the room and hotel: Room 5006 is LOUD! Forget about going to bed early, you will hear every note of the Water Pageant, every boom of the fireworks. Housekeeping is LATE. We stayed 7 days and they only were able to clean our room 1 time. With a little one, a mid day break was necessary. By 3 pm (naptime) the room was still not cleaned. Most days I would just call to exchange towels and empty trash since they were so late to arrive. Pool area construction was a real downer. Like I said, we opted out of the Poly due to "advertised" pool construction. For the duration of our stay, the kids area of the pool was closed for repairs. I am annoyed this was not advertised. My only other minor complaint is that boat and bike rental is only available until 5 pm. It was way too hot to get a bike before 5, but could have made for a fun pre-dinner activity around the property.

I would definitely stay here again because the pros outweighed the cons. I think this hotel is great for those with smaller children that need a mid-day break because the transportation is easy. Also a great family hotel!

Room Tip: Another member in our group got a Disney discount to upgrade to the Old Faithful club level. TOTALL...

I have stayed here twice and it's beautiful. It's a deluxe resort so a little more expensive but worth it. The standard room was big enough for 2 adults and we were right next to the pool. The atmosphere and staff were great. I definitely recommend this resort and plan to stay here again in the near future.

Room Tip: We booked through AAA and our travel agent got us a preferred room near the pool for a discounted pr...

We just returned from a 4 night stay at the Wilderness Lodge and it was very nice. We had a deluxe suite which was a great size for a family (room 1003). It had 2 queen beds and a pull out couch in a separate room with a mini fridge. The staff were all extremely nice and accomodating. The pool area was nice but not very big for such a large resort. Also, if you don't like listening to or participating in pool games don't go in the late afternoon since that is when they are occurring. We also had access to the concierge level on the 7th floor but due to our room being on the 1st floor this was not very convenient.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 1003 which was very close to the pool and getting to the boat docks. It also was...
