“Experience dependent upon expectations”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 15, 2014

My family of 5 recently completed a 6 night stay at the Disney's Beach Club Resort. We took advantage of our passholder's discount to book at a discounted rate. The stay was commensurate somewhat to the rate but I must say that the regular rate seems really exaggerated for a resort that really only offers the benefit of proximity to Epcot. The rooms and the bathrooms are small. The reviews mentioning the poor upkeep of the rooms are accurate. Rust stains ran down both sides of the bathroom door due to rusted over hinges. Housekeeping was minimally efficient and we had to keep calling each night to request extra towels. The pools were decent with an outstanding waterside that made up for the overpopulation of the children's pool area due to the sharing of such with it's sister property…the Yacht Club. The food choices onsite were limited (and expensive) and reservations were required for sit down availability even at such casual eateries such as the ice cream parlor. All in all, due to the concentration of our trip being at Epcot, we were pleased with our location. However, I will definitely search for other Disney resort locations for our next visit.

My family stayed 4 nights in June at this resort. After reading the reviews and having stayed at other Disney Resorts we had high expectations. We utilized the online check-in option because in the past this had made getting registered a breeze. When we arrived to check in things were chaotic, After standing in line at the online check in section for 10 minutes I was told this resort no longer offered this online registration option?? After check in we parked the car, the parking lot was a long way from the lobby and elevators. The room was older but nice with an extremely small bathroom, we stayed on the 4th floor. One odd thing I noticed was when we were going to our room at 12:00 PM all the maid carts were still in the hall. If you stay here make sure you use the privacy please sign. They start cleaning around 7:50 AM and the carts are out the majority of the day. The 2nd day of our stay we left early and returned that night to find our room had not been cleaned at all (the privacy please sign was not left on the door), contacted the front desk and they sent a the cleaning lady up to bring towels and she offered to clean the room. This hotel did not have a Disney feel, the staff was not friendly and the cleaning department was borderline rude. They yelled at each other in the hall way numerous times. The weirdest thing is on the morning of the 3rd day of our stay they were using a machine to scrape up the carpet in a section of the hallway outside our room, very loud. They then proceeded to remove mattress and other items from the room across the hall? I could go on and on. The food area is very small and limited, I think they want you to walk to another hotel or Epcot to eat. My wife kept saying well this is an older hotel and that I expect too much. Well Disney has this hotel listed as a deluxe hotel and you pay a deluxe price so I guess I do expect more. We have stayed at the Contemporary, Animal Kingdom Lodge, Wilderness Lodge, Port Orleans Riverside & French Quarter, All Star Sports, Coronado Springs and Pop Century. I rate all of these resorts higher than this one. If you do not plan to stay in your room much save some money and stay at Pop Century or one of the moderate resorts or if you want a resort with a special feel stay at the Animal Kingdom Lodge The most convenient thing this resort offers is the ability to walk to Epcot however the Boardwalk and Swan & Dolphin offer the same and they look like nicer places to stay.

The room was dirty and dingy. The balcony could fit 1 person if standing, not even 1 chair would fit. I would not stay here again. If this is a deluxe hotel for Disney I'd hate to see the moderate or value level. I dont think they've ever updated this room since construction. The bed sunk down then sprung up with a clunk every time you sat on it...room 3631. Do yourself a favor and stay elsewhere. Next time we'll go off campus. Felt like cattle here, Disney has a way of doing that though. Definately not magical. The nicer pool was not worth the sacrafice of getting a dirty dingy room. Also - front desk staff were friendly, but bell service was a joke - not helpful and only wanting a tip. Here's a tip for you Disney... People want a clean room and when you spend extra for a deluxe hotel we even want deluxe accomodations.

Room Tip: Stay off campus

Could not have been happier with our choice of Disney hotels! The Beach Club was a really fun place to stay with my wife and two girls (6 &9). While at disney we passed through several other hotels and nine compared. Our "down" days away from the parks were nearly as fun for the kids thanks to the cool pools and water slide. Super quick access to Epcot and all the food and drink options in the world showcase area is an awesome bonus.

Beautiful hotel with large rooms, comfy beds. Fantastic pool, only for residents. Location wise, it is excellent, 5 mins walk from Epcot and a beautiful walk to Hollywood Studios, or a boat runs very regular.Although some parts of the hotel corridors seemed a little tired, it certainly wasn't a big deal. I loved the disney touches, like making animal shapes out of the towels, great fun.The hotel was very busy in May which I didn't like. There were a lot of functions on the beach area, but once in my room it was quiet. Overall a great hotel, although I would stay at Disneys Coronado Springs next time, just personal preference.

Room Tip: Ask for a room near a lift!!!

We stayed for 8 nights at the Disney's Beach Club Resort, concierge level. The Club room provided breakfast, and drinks and snacks during our stay. I think it is worth the extra expense to stay on club level, given the amount we would have spent at the Disney parks on snacks and drinks. The hotel is clean, and very comfortable - the pool is excellent. The location close to Epcot and Hollywood Studios was invaluable. The only fault is that the mattresses on the bed are way too hard - sleeping on the floor would be more comfortable. Please Disney, update the mattresses!!

The Concierges are excellent - and extremely friendly. They helped organise a birthday cake and birthday card, sang Happy Birthday to my 5 year old, and made him feel extra special. The wifi speed was better than our last stay (in 2012), so accessing and uploading photos did not take very long.

The bedroom was adequate - with two Queen beds, and a small desk/writing area. The bathroom was acceptable and very clean. Each day we would come home and the towels would be in a different shape (an elephant, mickey and spiderman!)

I would stay here again, but perhaps request a softer mattress (if available).

We had to really work hard to get a reservation here. The pool has a lazy river and slide (most Disney hotels have slides), they also have a sand bottom wading pool perfect for little ones or just sitting in the water all day. We stayed in a 2 bedroom. The bedrooms, esp the master bedroom and master bathroom, were enormous. The eating area was TINY. We could seat 5 for meals and we had 8 staying in the room. The hotel is a little older, but still in good shape. Nice beds. Quiet sleep.
