“Loved the location and the room!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 13, 2013 via mobile

The rooms were nice, neat and clean. The service is top-notch. Who doesn't love Mickey ears on their bed. We had a standard view room but requested being on the boardwalk really nice to see Fireworks every night only down part is the noise late into the night.

Location wise for Epcot and Hollywood studios can't be beat. Either walk or take the boat. Certainly beats waiting for a bus! Which brings me to only really bad part of the resort. Buses to Downtown Disney are always packed since it shares with Yacht, Beach Clubs, Dolphin and Swan. Buses to Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom shares with Swan and Dolphin to can be packed also in the mornings, afternoons usually not too bad. Also weekday and weekend crowds also vary widely.

The value really is in the location, pool and amentities. If you like the amentities this is defintely is the place for you since lots too do by the pool, on the boardwalk-flying fish, cat Cora, ESPN club.

If you are looking for just a place to rest your head for the night probably not the place for you since it is defintely a resort geared towards vacationers visiting Disney, but if these are your plans tho defintely ranks as one of the top 5 disney hotels to stay at.

We spent a week at the Boardwalk Inn for my Birthday. Loved the location, but the inn is in need of a renovation. The staff was wonderful. The room we stayed in was water view which was very nice, but noisy (and not for the reasons most complain about). First, the room is below the 4th floor concierge lounge under an open ceiling. The folks from the lounge would stand outside the lounge and talk LOUDLY and we could hear every word. It happened almost every morning. I called and complained once and even went out and asked them to be quiet myself once. I honestly believe alot of it was the staff stationed at the door greeting people. The other problem is that this room is over a hidden door that gives access to the Boardwalk and is used by staff. They would start early (5am) running carts up and down the boardwalk (no way this can be quiet) and talking under our window.

My advice - stay at the Beach Club. If you want to stay at the Boardwalk, however, avoid this room.

Stayed at Boardwalk Inn for 3 nights in early October. Not impressed. The first night we were notified that all power would be off for about 2 hours in the night due to maintenance. A bit inconvenient but I guess they have to do maintenance sometime and at least we knew in advance. The room itself was clean, but the desk lamp bulb was burned out and two of the five vanity lights were also burned out. None were replaced during our stay. I expected more attention to the details, but as a frequent traveler, this is really about average. The outside grounds were well-manicured and the common areas were clean. Staff was friendly. Restaurants along the boardwalk were convenient. Walking to Epcot was a bonus!

We decided on the boardwalk for a change from our favorite Polynesian. The resort is beautiful and well maintained. Not much of a disney wow factor. Honestly a basic hotel that is very expensive.
Check in took some time and not much help was offered upon our arrival on the magic express. Upon getting to our room the battery on the RFID door was dead so the keys did not work. Standing there with all our luggage looking for a phone to call the front desk. Long hallway walk to find a phone at the elevator and called told someone was coming right away and after 10 minutes I walked to the front desk leaving my wife standing at our door waiting with luggage. Finally got a manager with a real key to let us in. Then told if we leave hopefully it will be fixed before we return. Not pleasant start to trip.
Walking to Epcot and Hollywood studios was great. The buses to animal kingdom and magic kingdom were out right awful. Shared a bus with the swan and dolphin (2 separate stops). So the bus was always packed. 400 a night to share with a 150 night hotel. Should have saved money and stayed at dolphin. Looked very nice. We went during the so called "off season". The return bus from animal kingdom stopped at blizzard beach then dolphin then swan then finally boardwalk. Not a pleasant experience.
The boardwalk itself is nice at night. Great walking nice dinner choices within short walk.
The rooms were nice and beds were comfy. On a Saturday night getting ready for a special dinner the first time we go to use the iron it's broken. Wife then goes to use blow dryer and it's broken too! Told maybe a replacement by next morning. Not what I expect from a 400 a night hotel.
The pools were nice. Central pool was fun with snack bar but Noisy with staff constantly talking over a PA system. Two quiet pools were very quiet though.
Housekeeping was great. Rooms very clean but should check to make sure equipment is working prior to new guests staying in room.

Overall a nice hotel but would not stay again. Honestly not a good value. Location is very good, Swan and dolphin much better value. The central bus system was terrible. Would recommend renting a car if staying here to avoid the long hassling rides. The magic express was great though.

Room Tip: The boardwalk view rooms are booked months in advance so no chance of getting lucky and getting one...

My husband and I decided to stay here for our honeymoon, we booked a standard room with a dining plan. When we arrived we were so surprised and delighted that we had been upgraded to a club level cottage suite!! The room was beautiful and the staff was so friendly and helpful! We had access to the club lounge and it was so wonderful and the staff there were accommodating and so nice! We woke up to a message on our hotel room phone from Mickey and Minnie, chocolates on our pillows at night, towels folded like Mickey ears and a clean well stocked room everyday! Disney truly goes the extra mile and treats their guests like family, even saying "welcome home" and "congratulations" when we walked by. The hotel itself was beautiful and the boardwalk at night filled with fun things to do and see! I can't wait to go back to the boardwalk for our 1 year anniversary! By the way, it was so easy to get to Epcot, Hollywood Studios and other close by hotels from boat access! Love this place, had some wonderful memories and can't wait to return!

We spent 7 nights and 8 days at the Boardwalk. The location was perfect. We could walk in 5 - 10 minutes to Epcot, the Beach Club, Yacht Club, the Swan and the Dolphin hotels. We could take the bus or boat to and from any of these properties. Hollywood studios was only a few minutes away. We also walked to Fantasia mini golf that was close by too. The pool had a nice hot tub and water slide. We stayed on the 5th floor and were able to see some of the nearby parks' fireworks. We wish there was a restaurant inside the Boardwalk so on a rainy morning we might have breakfast inside while waiting for the storm to pass. On 3 mornings we bought breakfast at the Bakery on the Boardwalk and sat at tables outside for a relaxing enjoyable breakfast. We had many enjoyable meals at restaurants and hotels around the boardwalk. We also had fun renting a surrey bike and riding around. The Boardwalk had some families staying there but we have stayed at other Disney properties and noticed there seems to be many older couples, newly weds and families with older children in comparison. The Dueling Pianos and the Atlantic
nightclubs are fun for grownups.

My 15 year old daughter and I stayed here post cruise for one night. We arrived in Port Canaveral and rented a car and drove directly to the hotel. Though it was only 10am and we had no expectations of a room being ready, we were swiftly given keys to a beautiful room with an oversized water view balcony. I was worried we would not be given a good room because we booked through Travelocity (which was $50 dollars cheaper a night than Disney, who would not match this price when I called them directly) but my fears were unfounded. From the moment we entered the security gate with a "welcome home" from the gate attendant we felt happy to be there. Our rather flamboyant check in agent (not a complaint, we loved him) asked us if we believed dreams come true and when we said, "yes" he said, "well get over it!" My jaded teenager laughed at his tongue in cheek humor and we felt instantly at home. We did a whirlwind tour of three parks in one day and came back exhausted with thunder and heavy rain. When I called to the front desk to ask where we could get water they directed me to a soda machine in the hallway that was inoperable. When I called again a room service attendant brought up a large carafe of water and two goblets wrapped in saran wrap to keep them sanitary. He refused a tip (a first for me!) and apologized for the broken machine. That's service! We loved being able to charge things back to the room with one key card (pin protected by a number you select at check-in) and were even able to charge souvenirs from Downtown Disney to the card after checkout the next day on our way to the airport. As for the room it was very clean and spacious. I frankly can't wait to stay again. The self parking is a bit of a jaunt with suitcases, but otherwise not bad. Everywhere we went on property we were greeted, offered help and frankly made to feel like valued guests. Even when we toured the Grand Floridian Hotel we were welcomed though we weren't staying here. The people here made all the difference. Disneyland in California could take some tips from these cast members! After staying at the Disneyland Hotel in July, I now see the BIG difference in service here.

Room Tip: Pay for what you want, book a water view and ask for a larger balcony, not all are oversized.
