“Excellent- for Disneyworld”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 8, 2013

We have stayed at several properties in Disneyworld through the years. We are crazy Disney fans! The Boardwalk is the most like an actual hotel that we have experienced, and the position is unbeatable.

You can easily walk to Epcot and Studios and you feel as though Boardwalk is basically in the middle. Of course there are boats to both, but we never took them because it was only a 15 minute walk.

Also, now that there are new rules saying you have to use fast-passes in the allocated time, you can actually still hop between the two parks without waiting for the slow Disney Transport, which I must admit always drives us a little insane.

I think access to the Magic Kingdom will always be an issue unless you are staying at the Contemporary. We have stayed there a couple of times and Magic Kingdom is an easy walk. You cannot walk from the Polynesian or the Grand Floridian and that used to annoy us when the monorail was experiencing difficulties.

We love luxury hotels in the real world, but I have yet to find what I would consider luxury in Disney hotels and resorts in the USA. We have had the same small bathroom with a low bath and a shower over the bath in every one of the properties where we have stayed in Orlando and in California Disney hotels. Once we accepted that luxury, in the standard of let's say New York, Paris, Las Vegas or Tokyo, doesn't exist and we just have to live with it, it made it a whole heap easier to be happy.

We stayed on the concierge level which was good and I would recommend it. The staff were very helpful. There was an added security door and we had a room overlooking the boardwalk, which I enjoyed but which was noisy at times. We were there at Xmas though!

We will likely not be back in Orlando until 2014, but I would definitely choose the Boardwalk for our next trip. The position is everything.

Room Tip: Choose a room not facing the boardwalk if you want quiet.

Couldn't give it 4 stars because it is better than that. 4 &3/4 stars probably. Been to WDW 80+ times and stayed in almost all of their properties. Perfect for us,57 dad,53 mom,23,17,15 daughters and 21 son. Was deluxe club room overlooking boardwalk. Classy property with easy access to Epcot (8 min walk) and Studios (14 min) walk. Take the boat to save your feet but not quicker. Fun atmosphere right out your balcony to watch . Wasn't too loud for us but we didn't go to bed early and had a fan for white noise.would be 5 stars if had quick serve restaurant in premises like Poly, Contemp, Grand Floridian, Port orleans, etc. Also bus picksup at dolphin and swan first to go to magic kingdom and was full before gettting to us. Maybe at a different time of year it would be better but days before new years was a hassel. Did manage to get on but always packed. Can't beat convenience of epcot from here though. Very festive place for new years time. This was our third straight year here. Loved it. If you can afford a few nights here you won't be sorry. Friendly doorman has been there every year, nice fellow. Also at night it is really beautiful with all the lights , boats coming and going , and old Bing Crosby type Christmas music playing throughout the hotel.Again.... we really like this place this time of year.

My 12 year old son and I stayed at the BW on concierge level over Christmas week! What a perfect time we had! The club level staff are amazing...the best of all was Jackie!! She made us feel so welcomed and when I came down with a tummy bug she sent gingerale to my room. And an honorable mention to Jessie who always had a smile and kind words. We will definitely be back.

We stay here for 11 nights and had a great time. Our kids where 18 months and 4 years old and we stayed in a 1 bedroom villa which was good but we would not pay out again and would just get a standard hotel room and save the extra cost. The hotel has a great fill about it and you can walk to Epcot and Disney studios which was great.negatives are on most of the days we would go out early as you do with young children and head back around 3 to give them a sleep or a rest and the maid would only be coming around then. I ask for earlier cleans but they said there a lot of rooms, but this was no help to us having a child a sleep so would often not get the room cleaned. Also after stay that long you can't wait to get the kids home to give them heathy food as even the kids food is very salty and the heathy choices are limited. As always we love Disney and all the hotels we have stayed in but i think next time we will stay in the beach club or polynesian

We stayed at the Boardwalk Inn for our wedding and honeymoon and it was the best hotel we've ever stayed in. With regards to Disney, it's location is amazing as you can walk to both Epcot and Disney Studios, as well as getting the ferry. It also has several bars and restaurants on the actual Boardwalk so if you don't fancy trekking too far a field for dinner, you can pop downstairs to a variety of really nice eateries. We had booked a standard room but were given a garden/pool view room (I guess that is one benefit of having a Disney wedding!) which was quiet and we could see the nightly fireworks from Epcot from our balcony. Our room was quite far away from the main reception area and I had read negative comments about this from other travellers, but as we appreciated having a quiet room this didn't bother us in the slightest - it was only a minute or two so it wasn't really far. The room was very spacious and clean, with very comfy beds and I appreciated having a fridge to keep drinks etc in. The staff were really helpful and incredibily welcoming. I would definitely visit again.

Room Tip: We had a room which overlooked the spa which was good if you are looking for a quiet room

This was our first trip to Disneyworld as a family.
Our first choice was the Port-Orleans french quarter resort, but that was fully booked so we upgraded to the boardwalk inn.
The location is great. The boardwalk has enough restaurants and attractions to keep you busy after you return from the park. Epcot is within easy walking distance and Hollywood studios is a boat-ride away.
Rooms are small and basic. We didn't have any place to eat when I brought food up to the room. WiFi coverage was also pretty bad in our room - we could not connect from the tablet. The view was ok - we had a big tree right in front of our window, so that's all we saw.
You also need to keep in mind that the Illuminations show is really close by, and the fireworks are very loud So if you have small children trying to sleep at around 9:30pm, maybe request a room on the far side of Epcot.
Again, the number one reason to pick this hotel is the location. I haven't stayed in any other Disney resorts so I can't compare.

The best thing about the Boardwalk is its location. Now for the bad experiences 1) The wifi didn't work, it took me 4 phone calls to get this working. I talked to another guest and he said the same thing. 2) The TV didn't work, again I had to call twice to get this to work. 3) Worst of all, we wanted to leave one hour later than check out time, it was denied. I know this is really hard to believe. This has never happened to me before. 4) The maid changed the plastic shower curtain in our room 2 days into our stay, we had to air out the room for 2 days to get rid of the smell.
