I stayed at the Florida Hotel for 7 days and I loved every minute. The hotel is of course attached to the Florida Mall, not only a shoppers dream but extremely handy for everything from your morning coffee to your late night snacks. Additionally it is an easy driving distance from most of the usual Orlando destinations e.g Universal, Disney, Seaworld and it is literally round the corner from International Drive.

Checkin was fast and efficent. My bags were taken right away and another member of staff hopped on to the desk right away when we arrived to save us waiting behind the customer being served (dispite quite a late check in - 9pm ish). They were also very helpful when we needed something and just as efficent on check out, even giving us a little extra time when we were running late for checkout.

The room was well furnished (better quality furnishings than i expected) with nice elegant touches, good quality bed and linens and a nice big TV and desk to work at. The bathroom was also very nice with plenty of space. There was two of us staying in a standard king room and we had more than enouugh space between the bedroom area, sofa area, bathroom and desk.

Housekeeping came regular as clockwork each day and did a great job at cleaning the room, even on a day when we were rushed leaving in the morning and had left things strewn all over the floor!

If I had to find a fault with this hotel it'd be the very very minor complaint that the walls were a little too thin. We had some children in the room next to us who we could hear at times but given the great experience we had otherwise it was hardly worth mentioning.

I'd recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the Florida area, it's akin to some hotels which cost far more and has an amazing location and very well furnished and spacious rooms. It seems the negative reviews I see are all related to a 'bad incident' people have had which may or may not have been related to the Hotel itself so my personal opinion is that you take those with a pinch of salt and don't pass up an opportunity to stay at the Florida hotel. I've spent all my time since my trip to Orlando trying to find other hotels attached to malls!

i was staying at this hotel for a business trip.. at first it was stunning i arrived on tuesday.. wednesday when i woke up i had a bite over my right eye and two one my left side.. really didnt think anything of it..

thursday when i woke up my eye was swollen shut and the bites on my side were swollen to the size of golf balls.. the hotel called an ambulance and sent me to the hospital..and they changed my room.. i spent the next few days in bed missing work because i was deathly sick and on 3 different medications..

i checked out on sunday and still was extremely sick.. havent returned to work yet because i am still ill..

and the hotel is doing nothing about the medical bills or the time i have to be out of work because of something at their hotel biting me..!!!!

  • Liked — they are crooks
  • Disliked — horrible service.. crooks..

My wife suggested that we attend the Pepsi 400 NASCAR race at Daytona this year so she asked me to make reservations and get the tickets. Well I contacted Race.com for our tickets and the packaghe that we got booked us into the Florida Hotel. When my family and I which not only included my wife and I but our 2 daughters 18 and 16 pulled up we were impressed at what we were looking at. Then we went inside and was immediately greated byv there desk staff who were very friendly and curtious. He answered all our questions and even had a message for me that was left earlier in the day. We entered our room and it was perfect. I turned on the AC and withing just a coup;e of minutes the room was cool. We did have one small issue in that when we took our shower it would not drain properly. So I advised the front desk as we were leaving for the race and when we returned that night I had a message advsing me that the drain in the shower had been fixed. I have nothing but good things to say about the Florida Hotel in fact we stayed there an extra 2 days and I would most definitely stay there again as well as recommend others to stay.

There is something I should let you all know about so you do not get ripped off. The first is the restaurant 'Cricket" what ever you do I would not recommend that you eat breakfast there. It is $13.95 for a buffet breakfast and the food is not that great for what you have to pay. I made the mistake and ate there with my 2 daughters and with just the 3 of us and one of my daughtets just ordering breakfast off the menu our bill was $46.00 and the daughter who ordered breakfast did not gte her meal until after myself and my other daughter ate our breakfast and got seconds. And secondly do not buy your tickets to any of the venues from the ticket agent at the main desk. I should say tyhis agent is not an employee of the Florida Hotel. But what they do is presure you into trying to get you to buy property and a vacation home. Now if you sit throught their 90 minutes brainwashing you can get a fairly good deal on tickets. But if you just want to buy the tickets so you do not have to stand in the ticket lines I suggest you stand in the lines. The cost to get into Disney World through the person selling tickets at the hotel is $77.00 but when yoiu show up at the park you will see that the day ticket is only $67.00. So I suggest if you do not want to sit and listen to their speech and show and tell you buy your tickets at the parks.

But for the hotel itself it was a great pleasure instaying there as my wife can attest since she and the kids visited the mall several times. As I stated above I cannot say nothing negative about the hotel or its staff. It also provides a free shuttle to several of the Parks such as Disney World, Universal Studios, Epcot, etc.

  • Liked — The friendly staff and their eagerness to help or answer your questions.
  • Disliked — The Cricket Restaurant is a rip off as is the person selling tickets to the amusement parks. You have to listen to their show and tell speech to get abreak on the tickets but if you just outright buy the tickets from them they pressure you to listen to their shown and tell and when you tell them

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in mid-June. The hotel is centrally located and it was easy to get to all the attractions. We liked that the hotel is connected to the Florida Mall. The food court is right outside the lobby entrance and there were plenty of restaurant choices as well. The room was very clean and comfortable. There is a nice sized refrigerator. The pool was big however you had to get there early in the morning if you wanted chairs. I would have no qualms about staying at this property again.

My husband was attending a conference at the hotel so the kids and I joined him for what we thought would be a relaxing few days. The lobby is very nice and the pool was small but pretty. We went to our room which was not very big and it was hot. We turned the air down to 65 and left for a while. When we returned, the hallway was still colder then the room was. We called the front desk and the said they would send someone to check on it. We went out for dinner and when we came back it was still not cool. We called the desk again and they sent maintenance up. The man explained to us that the units are set to only cool when they detect body heat in the room, the rest of the time they don't blow cold air. He opened up all of the vents to help circulate the air. He said all of the rooms were like that and many people had been complaining. It was very uncomfortable sleeping in a warm room, not to mention the beds are only full size and don't really accomodate 2 adults. The next morning we asked to be moved to another room but their weren't any available. They had no other suggestions and didn't really seem to care about the problem. Unfortunately, we had 1 more night there so we bought an air mattress so one of our kids could sleep on it and my youngest slept with me so my husband could have some room in the bed. After speaking to other families attending the same conference, they all had the same complaints about the air conditioner and small beds. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone nor would I ever stay there again. Its only redeeming quality is that it is attached to the Florida Mall but International Drive is only 5 minutes away and full of hotels.
