“Great resort, great value, great destination”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

I had booked this place to extend our Disney trip after staying in Animal Kingdom. I thought I would miss Disney but this was a great place on its own!
Cool bars, restaurants, pool, music, etc... see the pictures on Tripadvisor.

Liked it so much, we stayed again. First trip in 2013, slight construction at that time...

Room Tip: beautiful pool, restaurants, golf course. I liked high floor, balcony over pools

The first impression of this hotel is that it is very big. There are North, South, East and West towers and many restaurants. I was here for a business meeting, and the walk from my room to the meeting room was several hundred yards. This hotel also has a large pool and pool bar and it is frequented by business meetings and families on vacation.

My room was on a high floor in the East tower and I had a view of downtown Orlando. Each room has a small balcony and it was very pleasant. The room had everything I usually want in a room. It was comfortable and quiet. The air conditioning worked well. I had some difficulty with the Wi-Fi one night, it was very slow, but most other times it worked fine. The food at my meetings was good and the staff were very accommodating.

Overall, it was a very pleasant experience, although I usually avoid hotels of this size. If not for the problems with the Wi-Fi, I would have rated it excellent.

Room Tip: I expect that any rooms on high floors would be nice. The ones on the North side of the East tower...

Just got back from this big resort in Orlando. This was my second visit here and I believe this facility offers a nice package in this area. The hotel also offers two very good restaurants (Hawk's Landing steakhouse &Grille and Mikado Japanese Steakhouse). I would also mention the pool area as a must try. The rooms are large and the beds are also easy to have a nice sleep in. Last time I was here, I had the time to also try out the Hawk's Landing Golf Club witch is perfectly suurounding the hotel. The staff is also very service oriented.A

The hotel is nice but not worth the money.
Food is decent, but priced well above its value.
Parking is horrible (10min walk and $18 / a day)
While at the hotel, we lost a coat with rental car keys inside it. Hotel staff assured us the coat had not been turned in to Lost and Found. We checked in 3 locations every day. On day 4, we finally paid $300 to have the car towed and rekeyed. The following day they found the coat and keys and said it had "been backlogged in a several bins of items lost during the conference." If Marriott is going to host such large conferences, they should be able to keep up with Lost and Found in a timely manner, or should compensate quests for their inadequate customer service. The claims department said "well, if you hadn't lost the coat, you wouldn't have had to rely on our customer service." While this is true at face value, even with the best of intents, people do lose things in hotels and a high level hotel should be set up to help you instead of blaming you for the whole issue. We have received much better customer service from hotels that cost much, much less!

Dear Dawnetta W,

As we pride ourselves on delivering a memorable hotel experience during your travels, we have unfortunately fallen short of our goal during your recent stay. Please accept our sincere apology. We have shared your feedback with the appropriate hotel team to ensure that this was an isolated issue that is corrected moving forward.

We are sorry if you felt our parking fees were not a good value for your travel dollar. Our rates are comparable to other hotels in the area that provide the same quality, amenities and location that our hotel offers. We do offer a parking lot shuttle that will get guests to their cars in a much quicker manner.

With 2,000 rooms at the hotel and due to the sheer size of the property and volume of guests, it is a huge facility which requires 1,400+ hosts on a daily basis to manage it. While the hotel does its best to expedite all requests for possible lost items, it is a very large property and we apologize for the delay in both being able to locate your lost item and figuring out which guest it belonged to so that it could be returned. We realize that it was probably very frustrating for you and it is never our intention to disappoint a guest in any way. We will be reviewing this situation with our senior management to determine if there is, in fact, a way to expedite the process to ensure another guest does not experience the same issue.

Thank you for taking the time to write your review and we do hope we can welcome you back again one day.

Although the hotel looks good in pictures it is not what it seems. We booked our room through a third party and when we arrived at the hotel they refused to check us in because we did not have a printed confirmation. They had us in the system but told us without a print confirmation to get there money from the third party we could not check in. We had to email them our entire vacation reservation to prove we paid for it. Needless to say the next night the front desk manager called and apologized, waived parking, gave us a food credit, and 10000 points. Then we get to our room there is blood on the bathroom door took two calls to housekeeping and about 4 hours for a response. They finally came up and cleaned the room again. I would caution that a pool view is not the best side. They have had receptions there every night and they have been very loud. I have not slept through the night (nor have my children) since we arrived. If possible pick another hotel in Orlando.

Dear kmm82,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We apologize if there was any miscommunication with regard to your check-in at our hotel as it is never our intention to disappoint a valued guest who walks through our doors.

We are also very sorry about any housekeeping issues that you may have encountered. We are always working to enhance our checks and balances with our housekeeping and clearly we still have some work to do to ensure that rooms are 100% ready for a guest's arrival.

Please also accept our apologies regarding any noise that might be emanating from our pool. The pool view rooms are often requested by many guests who like to see all of the activities going on at the pool; however, we realize this may not be appealing to all guests. We do offer a number of alternatives for views and if there is availability within your same room rate category, we are always happy to move a guest to a quieter room, so we encourage a guest to make the request to see what is available.

our family travels to Orlando atleast 2-3 times per year (it's a quick flight from where we love and a really good escape during the winter) and I can easily say that of all the resorts we have stayed at - the service here was the best by far! Special mention to Tim F. (Manager who was attentive to guests and just overall extremely pleasant! He was just as polite with his staff as he was with guests. Jade checked us in and she was great too!)

Our check-in was smooth. I mentioned at check-in that we were celebrating our daughter's birthday and they remembered to wish her and even sent her a birthday surprise. It was a very very nice personal touch and certainly not something we expected.

The room was spacious and clean! We were there during Thanksgiving weekend and eventhough service individual had to be away from their families - Room service staff, doormen, bellmen, everyone was attentive and had a smile on their face the entire time!

The pool is beautiful and heated (As promised on their website). The slides are super duper fun and really well staffed for safety. The kids area is amazing - a legoland, splash park, and even a kiddie pool slide.

The only downside was the both their steakhouse and very famous Japanese restaurant were closed while we were there, so we'll have to try those next time. The italian place, the sports bar, and the pool bar were all good and standard in terms of what you'd expect at a resort.

We have never stayed at the same resort twice in orlando (yet) because there are so many to pick from but we think we found our favorite, we will definitely be back!

Room Tip: Try to get a room closer to parking. Since its a hotel where they host conventions too, it's pr...

Dear kslota,

We really appreciate your high praise for our hotel and are pleased to know you are already planning to return to stay again with us! We value all of our guests and thank you for taking the time to share your review with us.

Our guests always come first and we are pleased to hear that from check-in and throughout your stay you felt you received excellent service, you were always greeted with a smile and that you were well taken care of. Glad they could make your daughter's birthday special, too!

The pool area and fun slides make family time at the pools enjoyable and we are happy to know you were able to enjoy some of the restaurants and bars located right here in the hotel. Thank you for also sharing that your room accommodations were comfortable and spacious.

We are so happy you had a great stay and look forward to your next stay with us.

I attended a convention held at the Orlando World Center Marriott at the beginning of January. It was great to stay at the same location where the conference was taking place. There were no buses or taxis to arrange. I was there for 3 nights. I assumed that the noise that had continued throughout the first night was an anomaly. Unfortunately, it was worse the next night. I finally had to change rooms but only after two sleep-deprived nights. The problem is that my room faced the atrium and soundproofing seemed nonexistent. If you are going to stay at this hotel and if sleep is highly valued, make sure you do not face the atrium. Other colleagues had issues as well. I enjoyed the quality of the food and the wait staff at the Italian restaurant for dinner but the casual, takeaway, faster food meal choices are limited. Starbucks for coffee was great, but they seemed understaffed. Lines were always long and slow-moving. Their breakfast and lunch offerings were often limited or sold out. To end on a positive note, the fitness center was very good. Better than a lot of hotels.

Room Tip: do not face the atrium - too much noise at night.

Dear Linda L,

We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay at our hotel for a convention and loved the convenience of being able to attend the convention right here and not have to deal with transportation issues.

As a comprehensive resort and meeting facility, each of our 1,400+ hosts works hard to ensure that each guest find everything they need and are satisfied with their service and accommodations during their stay. We apologize if lines were longer than usual and your wait time was effected.

While it is never our intention to disappoint guests in any way, we are sorry that you felt the atrium design of our hotel resulted in a noisy experience for you. Many guests do like the vibrancy of the atrium and the ability to look down from the guest room hallways to see what is going on, yet it impacts the serenity of their experience once inside the guest room. However we do recognize that it may not appeal to all guests and we are sorry if this inconvenienced you in any way.

Thank you for sharing your review and we hope we will welcome you back again one day.
