We stayed at the Sheraton Vistana with our two children ages 3 and 5. We had a two bedroom suite and the kids loved having room to run around and really enjoyed the main pool.
...However, we had to switch rooms three times due to terrible odors and worn and downright dirty rooms (I attached some photos). The third room deserved the 1 out of 5 rating the previous two rooms deserved 0 out of 5. They smelled so bad it lead to gagging and headaches almost immediatly. The smell was of something used to try and mask the smoke (there are no non-smoking rooms). The third room was tolerable, but only barely. It was also dirty, old, broken down, moldy and smelly.
The front desk claimed that the cleaning staff had tried some new cleaning product illegally imported from Haiti. The staff laughed when they recounted how they thought it smelled like stale urine. They offered no cleaning service or discount and were unable to move us again due to being at capacity.
After a week we checked out early and went and stayed at a really nice Holiday Inn Express about three miles away. Thanks goodness we did...it rescued the rest of our trip.
