We had booked a one bedroom unit, and upon arrival found it to have a mini kitchen not a full one as promised. It was very small and dirty. There were only two of us but there would not have been any room for anyone else. We called to say that this was not the size of unit we had booked through RCI but they said take it or leave it. I had to call three times about the fridge leaking and once after calling and leaving when we returned, there was water all over the floor and our towels laying on the floor. When we called the desk to complain about this they were not interested. The pool near our unit was not clean. I would not reccomend this resort to anyone.

We stayed at the Sheraton for 3 nights. We had a 2 bedroom condo in the cascade section of the resort. It was more then adequate for the 3 of us. Our room had a jacuzzi tub and a King bed. The Jacuzzi was great after a day of walking at Universal Island of adventure!!! My son's room had 2 doubles/? queen beds and his own TV. We had a pond to look at from the porch and it was great watching all the animals outside. The condo was clean and housekeeping was very effecient. The pools were clean and the larger pool had more people in it. We bought food at one of the local grocery stores and cooked in our condo to cut down on costs. The location is excellent for shopping and close to the parks. We would definitely stay there again !!!!

We visited Vistana Resort Aug.5-12. We have been timeshare owners there for several years. We love the location - always lots to do. Disney Village is nearby ,as are the theme parks and the outlets.
The quality has seemed to slip since Sheraton took over a few years ago. We has asked for a 3rd floor room in a certain section, but away from I-4. We got the 3rd floor. The building was older. We were probably 20 yards from I-4. Needless to say, we were disappointed. The trash compactor was falling out of the wall, not enough towels, and it took 2 phone calls and 3 hours to get extra pillows.
I think we will try someplace else next time.

Stayed at the Sheraton Vistana Resort from Aug 10th to the 18th via a RCI exchange, plus we added one night to make it a 8 night stay. I had requested the Cascades or Lakes, the 2 newest sections. We were placed in the Lakes, room 1903, 2 bedroom on the 1st floor. We were very close to the Lakes pool, Fountains pool. Both of these pools were very nice. We also visited the Super Pool in the Spas and the pool in the Courts and the Cascades. All pools were very nice. We went to parks every other day so we had a lot of time in the resort pools. The food was ok, bar type food and there was a Pizza Hut on property. A Bennigan's right next door. Also Bahama Breeze about a mile out of the resort which was great (left out of the resort, on the right.) Also, do your shopping at the Walmart, about 2 miles away (make right out of the resort, on right side), also great for Disney stuff.
Our room was very nice and spacious. Great for families, as my small kids (3 & 5) had a blast at all the pools and activities. Staff was very helpful and overall this resort is very nice. And you can't be this location. But this resort is big. You need a car.
This was my second time staying here. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

“Would be almost perfect if they had internet connectivity”

Sheraton Vistana Resort - Lake Buena Vista

We were placed in Fountains II in a pretty quiet section. Very spacious suite. Good appliances. ok cleanliness. Our spa apparently flooded the room downstairs after my 2 kids and then myself enjoyed a hot bath. (We didn't let the water overflow... the gaskets were apparently leaking - really). Maint guys came banging on our door around 9:30pm after the kids were put to bed. They fixed it the next day while were at SeaWorld. (I feel sorry for the people downstairs - that must've really sucked)

Although the room suited us fine, my biggest disapointment was with their lack of internet connectivity. Here is what they offer:

- in-room access via the telephone line (56k). You'll need a service like AOL (which I don't have). I don't use AOL, etc.. so I wasn't able to use this. I guess I'm spoiled with a cable internet connection at home.

- They have an "internet cafe" near the main pool in the recreation building which was a hike from my room... about 300 yards. There you can use one of their computers after buying a vending card with pre-allocated time on it. You pay what you want at $.20 per minute. Their PC's are locked down and activex/java, etc... are disabled. I wasn't able to do remote control via LogMeIn.com which was a bummer for me. They DO have memory card slots, SD, CF, etc... Printing is .90 per page.

- WIFI (which is advertised as "high speed internet") is available although: $10 for 1 day, $45 for 5 days, $50 for 7 days. Although my wifi card was showing a solid 54mbps connection, internet connectivity was 40K-70K (NOT HIGH SPEED). There was nobody in the cafe while I was here. I'm guessing that they have the whole resort hooked up to very humble internet connection.

Don't expect to use the internet here to upload all your vacation pictures from your digital camera... instead buy that extra big memory card.

May sound silly but I probably won't come here again because of the internet connectivity issue... I depend on it to check my business and my home network, etc... Perhaps most of you won't care about the speed that much.
