“Great experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 18, 2012

We stayed at Staybridge Suites last week. The location was excellent. It was right next to a grocery store and a Walgreens, so we could pick up groceries very conveniently. We had a one bedroom suite in the guest house. It was so quiet at night and the bed was comfortable. It was plenty big enough for our two children and us with a well stocked kitchen and two TVs. The breakfast buffet was huge with lots of variety. Having one meal a day looked after saved us a lot of money. We ate a big breakfast, and made lunches for the park, so we only needed to eat out once a day. We rented a car and found the drive to the parks to be about 10-15 minutes. There wasn't much we could complain about - probably just the fact that our room wasn't ready when we checked in at 4. They were super apologetic and gave us a discount. I would recommend this hotel with no reservations.

We visited Disney parks for a week and stayed at Staybridge and here are our experience:

Things we liked:
We booked a one room studio, which was decent sized and well furnished. It is a good location for both Disney and Universal parks, both are 15 minute drive away. Walkable to Supermarket, Walgreens and whole bunch of restaurants. Good shuttle service(tough we never used it. The front desk staff is courteous and the pool is nice with kids toys. We got to meet a diverse variety of people during our stay. Evening happy hours is a good idea serving free beer and wine with snacks. Although they are so early that if you are doing parks it is hard to catch the time slots.

Things that we not liked:
There are three floors but no elevators. It is little hassle to drag suit cases up and flight of stairs. (Although it is nothing compare to pushing 2 kids strollers in Disney parks in 95 degrees)
There is a strange smell when you enter the room, which you get used to fast but you encounter it every time you enter the room.
The Mattress on Sofa bed is end of life so is the carpet in the room.
The rooms are not sound proof, we sometimes woke up as our neighbors came late into the room or our upstair neighbor opened his sofa bed.
One of storage shelves in our room fell off the last day.
Not much variety in breakfast if you stay for a week, there are two types of eggs that are cycled (omelet and scrambled).
If they buy a Mickey Mouse Waffle maker it may add more fun to breakfast.

There is a renovation under way and I hope they address the above issues or I will not come back.

Room Tip: Go for the first floor if you have heavy suitcases and kids.

Friendly staff. When I needed to print boarding passes, desk clerk made sure I has immediate access. Pool was large and for kids and adults. Game room, exercise room, yummy breakfast with a different variety each morning. They also served until 10:30 which was great for sleepy teens.
Full kitchen, comfy beds, laundry...hotel has begun a remodel however that didn't interfere in any way with our stay.
Although we had our own transportation, the hotel has a service to the Disney parks. They also sold tickets.
We had one problem. After a long day at Disney the maid had left our room door not closed all of the way. Nothing was taken however it did give me an uneasy feeling. Hotel apologized and paid for a nice dinner for us.
We would stay here again. So close to everything and price was perfect. No elevator and three stories all with outside entrance.

This is our first time using Suites, we had a 2 bed suite. Worked out cheaper than 1 hotel room in the 4 star hotels in the area. We would recommend this wholeheartedly, young or old. 24 hour reception with very helpful staff; no request was too much trouble at any time, day or night. Sayonera was so genuine, that our stay felt like it was a home from home. All staff were courteous and helpful. Free breakfasts are outstanding too with fruit, cereal, egg, meat, cake, coffee and waffles. Sets all the family up for a busy day at disney. Midweek there are 'sundowners' around 5pm, with free beer/wine and snacks. Donations are helpful for staff tips.
No bar, however you can sit in the smoking area and take your own drinks. Rooms have a kitchen, living room and separate bedrooms c/w en suites. Ideal for children too.
Winn-dixie supermarket is 200 yard walk away, loads of restaurants within walking distance, chemist and petrol station opposite the Suites. Easy to navigate between Disney parks and Suites as the I4 is only about a mile up the road. Staybridge Suites are quietly situated, but on the doorstep of Buena Vista. Safe to walk around here, this is a tourist area.

Room Tip: Buildings away from Swimming Pool are quietest. All rooms very spacious. Suites on three levels. We...

Although we had to move from one room to another, the overall experience with this hotel was great. Because of this move they rewarded us with a dinner, so we forgot this bad moment very fast. In addition, it's located near to Disney and outlets.

This hotel was great. There were 2 adults and 2 children in our family. We booked a 2 bedroom suite. Our accommodations were just what we expected. The staff was great. The breakfast each morning had an excellent variety and was a great start to our Disney World day. If you are doing Disney, this is the place to stay. The full kitchen gives you many low cost options for your evening (Post Disney) meal. There is a Wal-Mart Super Center nearby for groceries.

Recently stayed here with family visiting Disney World. Location is ideal for getting to and from parks with bus service available from hotel. Kitchenettes make staying with children very convenient and local stores within waling distance are a great plus for stocking up on snacks and supplies! Staff was helpful when needed for assistance. House keeping could have done a little better job but other than that would choose this place again if going to Disney World with children!

Room Tip: Next time I would request room closer to poolside since we took advantage of pool as much as possibl...
