“Great location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 6, 2014

Nice hotel, very friendly staff and the location is great close to everything in Orlando. Our room was very big with a king size bed, living room area with a mini fridge and microwave. Our room had a balcony facing the pool (very nice pool area). The bathroom was also a nice size and everything was very clean. There is an Applebee's next to the Hotel and is stays open until 2:00am and the tiki bar until 11:00pm. There is also an arcade, movie room, gym, business center and the pool has a section for kids that includes a playground.

We stayed for 4 days and loved it!. We will definitely stay here again when we go back to Orlando.

We stayed one night before a week on Disney property. The rooms are really big and comfortable. Updated decor and very clean. The hotel is right in the middle of everything. Perfect if you are visiting Disney, Universal or SeaWorld. They have lots of nice touches, secure parking an Applebees on site and a nice gameroom and movie theater for kids. The pool is amazing, on par with a Disney pool. They have ping pong, a splash pad and bar. The pool is in the courtyard, beutifully landscaped, comfortble and plenty of seating, the layout is such that you have some privacy and feel like you are at a pricey resort. They have towels available and a schedule of games and such. This would be a great hotel to spend a week at and have fun.

We didn't go in with great expectations, having read the reviews. However, the hotel (I agree - it's not really a resort) served our purposes really well. The room was a decent size, there was a fridge and a microwave, plus a small dining table apart from the desk. Wifi worked well. Parking is free - that's a rarity these days! Proximity to I4 and Disney was great.
We weren't looking for the Waldorf Astoria and found the property to be just fine for the price. We made our own breakfasts (thanks to fridge and microwave) so didn't have the bad experiences with the buffet that others have mentioned. In fact, we just went to Appleby's for the very enjoyable 2 for 1 margaritas.
Our only complaint - noise. Our room (246) overlooked the pool and music is blaring until 11 PM. Our upstairs neighbors either had an elephant in the room or a child that had been fed way too much sugar and was running laps around the place until late at night and from early in the morning. We were there for 4 nights. After the second night, I invested in ear plugs and all was well.
We'll go there again because we really don't want to pay for the Waldorf Astoria. We want somewhere clean, not cramped, with fridge and microwave, free parking and wifi, and proximity to the attractions. We got that!

Room Tip: 246 overlooks the pool and is noisy. A parking lot view would probably be quieter!

Green Features: I hung towels the first day in accordance with their "green" policy and would have been glad to reuse them but they were replaced every day. The bars of soap are so small, we needed one per day which means that packaging was wasted. Glad to see there was recycling on property.

We stayed here for 2 weeks in May, we travelled 2 adults & 1 child. On our arrival because the room has been booked on IHG platinum reward points they had automatically upgraded us to a kids suite. The staff were so friendly, and if there is anything you need to know the concierge are so helpful - and local so they know the area really well. Our room was clean, it had a kingsize bed, a seperate small room with a bunk bed inside as well & tv for our 7 year old who loved his own little den! Also a microwave, coffee mashine & fridge we had a Poolside view. We loved the fact Disney was right on the doorstep as were all the great restaurants & the pool was fab we would absolutely recommend this place if you want somewhere close to Disney but don't want to pay Disney prices. Also short drive to seaworld and universal. Theres a gift shop on site, film room for kids - there is applebees onsite but we found this quite pricey so drove a few yards to one of the other places nearby, also the pool is fab. Theres a shuttle bus service from the hotel that is complimentary & runs to Disney, seaworld, universal - we didn't use this as we hired a car. But what a fab holiday we had - and the hotel was definiteky worth it.

Room Tip: Pool view rooms are good - definitely recommend the Kid suites as well

Stayed here for the first two nights and last three nights of our Florida stay.
Couldn't complain about the first part when we were allocated room 679.
However, allocated room 286 on our return, which was in a block outside the main hotel building. This room is right next to a massive air conditioning unit and adjacent to the lift shaft, so you can imagine the noise.
Requested an alternative room to no avail. I was told they were fully booked but can't believe they didn't have one unoccupied room for two successive nights. Eventually got moved for the last night.
Overall, hotel was good value but insist on a room in the main hotel building and avoid rooms which end in 86 at all costs.

Dear John P:

Thank you for letting us know about both sides of your stay with us. We are really happy to hear that you had no complaints about room 679 but sorry to hear that you found it noisy in room 286. We are glad they were able to move you eventually so that you could enjoy your stay more as we really do try and make sure that every room in the hotel provides a wonderful stay. We are having our engineering team look at the room to make sure that it is as quiet as it can be.
Thank you again for letting us know and we look forward to seeing you again!

Best Regards,

Keith D.

The Property and our Room.
Five of us stayed here over a holiday weekend. Check in was quick. The lady who attended us was friendly and helpful. We made it to our room in a matter of minutes. It had 2 queen beds and a roll-away bed for our 5th person. The room was very clean. The furnishings were tasteful and modern. It had a mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker. My only observation about the room was that the deadbolt and door handle to get out to the balcony didn't work properly. We had to mess around with it for several minutes to get it to work. This was not a big deal to us though. You will need to ask for conditioner as they don't supply it in the room. They have a really nice pool that has games and activities for everyone. We didn't hang out there much though because we were there for Disney.

The location was great. Within 5 minute walking distance there are restaurants (Wendy's, Chick-fil-a, Subway, Starbucks and steak house) as well as stores (Walgreens, 7-11, and Disney Souvenirs). We brought a soft-case cooler on our trip. Every day we went to Subway and bought $5 subs and brought them with us into the parks. We simply stored them in lockers and when we were hungry we had a tasty, healthy and inexpensive meal and avoided paying the insane prices or standing in line. We also brought an empty sports bottle and filled it up whenever we found a drinking fountain.

Food/Dining. The hotel has a deal with Applebee's restaurant (which is connected to the property) where kids under 12 eat free. We ate breakfast here a few times until I realized I could get a better breakfast at Subway for way less. Applebee's breakfast was $9-$13 (nothing special) and Subway has a delicious 6 inch breakfast sandwich (made to order) for $3 or 12 inch for $5. We ate at the steak house that is down the street once. We waited 25 minutes for a table, after we ordered we waited another 30 minutes to get our food and it was just ok -definitely not worth waiting for. Good thing is that the prices were reasonable.

Getting Around. We chose this property because other reviewers said it was close to Disney and because it was one of the shuttle stops to the parks. We misunderstood other reviewers to believe that the parks were so close one could practically walk there but this is not the case. It was a 15-20 minute taxi drive to Magic Kingdom and Typhoon Lagoon. Our original plan was to use the shuttles to get to and from the parks but once there we were told that this property is 4 stops away from the first Disney park (which could take at least an hour to get to). Upon hearing that we changed our plan and used taxis because we wanted to spend as much time at the parks as we could (that is the reason we came in the first place). We considered renting a car for our trip and driving everywhere ourselves but ended up using taxi's to get to where we wanted. Never had to wait more than a few minutes to get one as they were everywhere. In the end we figured we spent the same amount of money but it was worth it because we didn't have to worry about driving, finding parking, paying for parking and fighting traffic (which was heavy most of the time).

Overall. This is a very nice property with reasonable prices. We would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with pool view.

We stayed here one night over the Memorial Day weekend. Because I have IHG Platinum status, we were upgraded to a suite, which was VERY nice. The facilities were great. Our room had a really nice balcony overlooking the pool. The pool was also really nice. It was overrun with children all afternoon. ( I get that, it's a family resort!). Later in the evening, and early in the morning, the pool was great. The only drawback was the Applebee's restaurant attached to the hotel. It was really not up to par.

Room Tip: Plan on eating somewhere other than the on site Applebee's restaurant.
