“Stranded but nice”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 27, 2010

Due to volcanic ash we were stranded in Orlando for additional 5 nights and found this hotel on the Internet. Excellent choice - staff very helpful with every request. Nice pool area - enough chairs for everyone, fitness centre okay. Rooms superb - had everything you could want. Could not fault hotel and would syay their again at that price.

Great value for money.

Spent 3 nights here as part on an Orlando trip. we had a great rate - paid in advance in the UK. We booked a 1 bed apartment but were upgraded to a gorgeous and huge 2 bed which was more than big enough for the 3 of us - may daughter had a whole apartment to herself. Rooms were confortable, my only criticism is that the air conditioning does not come out in a steady stream - it bursts on and off really loudly and is pointed at the beds so we went from hot to freezing and back to hot again - this kept us awake sometimes.
Pool area is quiet and clean, bar dull and not open often.
Wouldnt come back to this hotel again - not because of any fault with the hotel - but because we like to walk to a restaurant/bar in the evenings abd I found this part of I Drive quite seedy. I much prefer the other end near to Pointe Orlando.
Overall - lovely hotel, great value but would go elsewhere next time.

This hotel is in a great location for travelers visiting Universal Studios. I chose it because of this and because they were offering a Florida Resident Rate of $84.00. The room was clean, beds comfortable, and quiet, however nothing special for a junior suite. The drawback was that after additional charges, the rate for 1 night ended up being $125.00 and the room was quite cramped (especially the bathroom). The price did NOT include complimentary breakfast, which is not on par with other hotels in the area.

My husband and I just spent a night at The Point to celebrate our anniversary. The hotel was close to several restaurants and entertainment. We spent the evening at CityWalk. We were disappointed that the hotel transportation was not available in the evening. In fact, it only provided transportation one time a day. Therefore, we had to pay for a cab to CityWalk and then back again. While waiting for cab, we had a seat in the hotel lounge. The chairs are in dire need of a deep cleaning. Many stains on the seat covers. We stayed in a one bedroom executive suite that was very clean and spacious. I would definitely stay in this hotel again and probably try the 2 bedroom unit and bring our children.

After being stranded by the volcano we came across this little piece of paradise with fantastic staff and accommodation. They bent over backwards to help us through the stress of our extra stay. We wish we had found this place at the start of our holiday as we would loved to have stayed there. It is in a central postion for access to all the parks and a two minute walk to i-drive. The accommodation was more like 5 star than 3 .5. The amenities were like home from home full kitchen with all mod cons. Living area was spacious and comfortable. The bedroom was very spacious to and so was the bathroom. Great resort and wouldn't hesitate to go back. Thanks very much for your help and understanding. Mr & Mrs W. Holley

The hotel is attractive and the room was more than adequate. Diasappointing, however, was the bar/restaurant area in which "complimentary" breakfast was served. There were only five or so SMALL tables, so many guests were forced to eat in the lobby and conference room. Two lovely and overworked women were charged with keeping up with this large crowd every morning, so breakfast items frequently ran out. There was also insufficient parking. On two evenings we, and other guests, had to park on the grass (during rainy weather). Worst of all was our experience with the housekeeping service and some management staff. Our first full day we received NO housekeeping service. We complained and they came that night while we ate dinner out. Second day we pointed out that the housekeeping staff overlooked long human hairs from the previous guests on the shower walls. We were assured it would be taken care of. Third day, they were still there. Again, mentioned to a manager on duty who said she would personally handle it. Last day of stay, housekeeping still left the hairs. At check out next morning I discussed this with the clerk and even went so far as to collect the hairs to show the manager (who was not yet on duty). Sounds odd, I realize, but I was frustrated. I was assured I would not be charged until I received a phone call from that same manger. Yet no phone call ever, and credit card charged in full. Will be writing letter.

Stayed here for our family holiday to Orlando. It was in a great location, very near Wet n Wild waterpark which the kids loved. Also easy for the theme parks and all that Orlando has to offer. The rooms were very clean and nicer in real life than the pics. A good choice for families spending time in Orlando!
