“Consistent Quality EVERYTIME!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2012

We just got back from our 5th visit to our DVC home resort Kidani Village and what really makes me feel like i made the best investment ever is the consistent quality of this resort! Clean as the first day it opened and everyone is very helpfull! The decor and the grounds are kept up extremely well and I think that makes the BEST disney resort out there! The only downside you will hear people talk about is that there is no quick service option at this location, you have to either walk to the jambo house which isnt as bad as people make it out to be, or take a complimentary shuttle. Weve always done the walking option as the walk is a nice scenic walk of the grounds, full of lush greenery and is lit and actually pretty relaxing. They have ICE machines nearby every hallway and the pool is absolutely beautiful. very clean, lots of towels and lots of chairs to sit in. Overall I just thought it was worth the extra time to update my review and let people know this resort HAS IT TOGETHER! TIP: we stopped dishing out the points for a savanah view room as all the standard view rooms are still very nice. The parking is underneath the buidling so you will never get a view of parked cars and this resort is secluded and surrounded by trees and swamp and the standard views are actually very nice, besides you are not garaunteed to see any animals with Savanah View, one year we got the savanah view and only saw animals within our distance 2 of the days. I say save the points, or save the money and get the standard view! And yes...THIS IS THE BEST DISNEY RESORT OVERALL!

Room Tip: There is no quick service so you will need to walk to Jambo house for quick meals, request a room cl...

Spent a really great 3 nights at kidani village in a studio with a Savannah view. The rooms are well equipped and very comfortable, although the furniture,/furnishings etc are quite this is in keeping with the theme of the hotel . We were delighted on check to be able to see zebras, giraffes and a variety of birds wandering peacefully around the Savannah just outside the hotel reception. This is a really lovely hotel , the Disney transport to the parks means that you can park your hire car in the covered car park under the hotel ( so the car sent get too hot) and enjoy a cocktail or two in one of the many restaurants and bars without worrying about how to get back to your hotel.

We thought this hotel was going to be amazing since its a disney vacation club mdmbers only resort amazing it was not the decor in the rooms was suppose to be lion king themed it was not. Snimals were very scarce we only saw 1 or 2 but then again we were put in the front corner of the building and the safari is mainly in the back. As far as ammeneties they were nond here our room was .72 miles from the elevator the pool was a 15 minute walk and ths main reastaurants and gift shop that were advertised were not at the hotel you had to walk or take a shuttle over to jambo house the main animal kingdom resort. I would not stay at kidani village again but from the looks and the views i saw at jambo house it looked amazing.

If you are considering Kidani Village at Animal Kingdom Lodge...you must also be wondering what the differences are between Kidani & Jambo, right? Here's a summary:

1. Kidani is on the opposite side of the Savannah, across from Jambo

2. Kidani is newer, and consists entirely of DVC (vacation club) villas rather than hotel rooms

3. Kidani may be booked directly through Disney or through private owners

4. Kidani has most of its parking underneath the building, so its convenient for people with cars (as compared to Jambo's sprawling parking lot)

5. ALL Disney buses stop at Kidani first, so you want to stay here if you have kids in strollers (first dibs on seats).

6. Kidani 1 bedroom & 2 bedroom villas have an extra bathroom in the living area that Jambo villas do not have.

ENJOY your stay!!

We stayed at Kidani Village from Oct 6-13th. We had a standard view room, but had a view of all the animals, as they fed them right in front of our balcony. Room was very large, a 2 bedroom villa. Very clean! The only con of our trip (if you could call it that) was the walk to the lobby and especially over to Jambo House, where the quick service food option was. The only quick service dining option at Kidani was the pool bar, which had two options that didnt change.

Room Tip: Ask for a room close to the lobby if you dont want a long walk to the bus, lobby, pool, etc.

Rooms with Savannah View Balcony are fantastic! What a wonderful treat to sit and enjoy the animals from your very own balcony! Downsides were distance to Downtown Disney & Magic Kingdom and no quick service on property.

Room Tip: Request a room close to the lobby...can be a long walk to room after a long day at the park if you a...

I was traveling with my partner and a few of our friends and we stayed a few nights here at Kidani Village and we didn't want to leave!! lol The lobby is pretty big, but is sort of cramped with couches. They have a store right off the lobby which is convenient because it stays open until 11pm and has food, drinks and of course Disney merchandise. There is a huge window that looks out into the savanna where you can see giraffes, zebras, etc. If you go down the stairs right there you can go outside and get closer to the animals. Also down those stairs is Sanaa, the restaurant at the hotel. (I didn't try it so I can't give a review) The hotel is shaped like horns around the savanna. Our room was near the end, which seemed to be about a mile walk. It wasn't too bad until you got home from the parks and had been walking all day and just wanted to get to your room. :) So, a room near check in area might be more convenient.
We stayed in a two bedroom where one room was a master and the other had two queen beds. There were actually three bathrooms which was convenient because each couple had their own place to get ready!! There were sliding doors off each room and the living room which made it very easy to get out to the balcony and snap pictures of the animals! They were out all the time so if you miss them, don't get discouraged. They'll be around again. :) There was a dining table in the living room plus a comfortable couch and chairs. There were also chairs on the balcony so you could sit and watch the animals. It was such a beautiful room and very clean. Each room had it's own AC, which was nice too because we liked it cold and the couple in the other room liked it warmer.
One night we decided to go swimming and the front desk said it would be okay. The actual pool hours are 7am - 11pm but we went about midnight. It was nice though because NO ONE was there. We were told to be quiet but the hotel is set away from the pool enough even though we were pretty quiet. We used the hot tub after the pool and it was so relaxing. I don't know how it is during the day but there are water slides for the kids and the pool slopes up and has a little place for babies to swim too.
I feel like I'm forgetting things but if you can stay anywhere at the Walt Disney World Resort I would say stay at Kidani Village. It is a beautiful place, great for families and who doesn't love to wake up to see a giraffe out their window? :) Thank you to the staff for making our trip so enjoyable!

Room Tip: Best rooms have views of the savanna and probably try to get a room closer to check in area if you h...
