Typhoon Lagoon is a Disney water park located near Downtown Disney. We tend to come to water parks after hitting the amusement parks to cool off. We do not stake out a location to sit, we are on the move. We do rent a locker to keep keys and towels in. We can turn the key back in for our $5 deposit, or get a travel mug to keep. We visited with 2 adults, 2 teens, and 1 child.
This year we swam with the sharks! They have an area to snorkel surface level for free. You can pay to scuba surface level for a longer amount of time. Snorkeling was fine for us and we only waited about 10 minutes each time we did it. The snorkel and mask are provided. There is a underwater viewing area for those that wish to see the sharks, but not swim with them.
There are multiple slides, tube rides, wave pool, and a lazy river. The lazy river is a bit rough and will scratch you easily. There are a lot of tubes available as well as noodles (the lifeguard I asked did not know if they would continue to offer the noodles). There is a lot of climbing steps and you generally carry your own tube to ride. The kiddie area is great for really small kids, but not as much for the elementary crowd.
There are places for food all over. We highly recommend the mini doughnuts! We love cooling off in the afternoon at the water parks!
