“wow !!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 1, 2013

What a treat!
We expected to either swim in a crystal clear spring-fed river OR see manatees in the wild.
Normally, park staff keep people out of the water when Manatees arrive in the Fall.
Manatees were present in the swim area while we were swimming. What a treat to see thes docile animals up close.

A caution: It is against Florida law to harass manatees. Even if the manatees approach you, you could subject to fine if you touch manatees or follow them.

Few people ver get to see manatees in the wild, so whether you are in the water or on the public overlooks, this park can be wonderful to visit.

“Beautiful crystal clear water full of manatee's”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2013

Nice small park with easy walkways for viewing the crystal clear water. The spring is easily accessible by divers, snorkelers, or, swimmers. The big plus is the water is full of manatees and fish. We were told that weekdays are the best as the weekends are crowded. Lots of picnic tables and BBQ's. Camping sites and cabins are available. Hard to beat for $6.00 per car full!

“Very interesting!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 28, 2013

We have taken several friends who are visiting to see the manatees. They also have a very interesting boat ride that you can enjoy here. They take the time to really let you see the wildlife. It is so worth the money. We even go there just as a couple to enjoy the afternoon.

“Quiet and relaxing”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2013

ooReally enjoyed spending time at this state park. We were there mid week so there were not many people around. Lots of pavilions, grills, and picnic tables. Kayaks and canoes for rental and river boat tour on site. Too cool out to swim but would be nice on a hot summer day. Were told that manatees can be viewed during winter months but not the right season for our visit. Will return again in January or February to see manatees.

“Blue Springs Adventure!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2013

Blue springs is an amazing sight for everyone! I recommend bringing loved ones or children ages 5+ I say this not to be rude, but the water is very cold, and nobody would like a fussy child ruining the adventure. Its very calm, desolate, and shockingly clean! I recommend you NOT going during a holiday due to the fact that it does get quite crowded. I understand if the only time you can make it is during a holiday, so if you go during that time, You should probably camp out in the area or stay over-night in one of the log cabins, or maybe just go to an on-site hotel. letting you know, you should bring: TOWEL, BUG SPRAY, WATER SHOES, LONG SCUBA SHIRT, TUBES(if you dont want to pay the price), SCUBA GOGGLES ( you can rent them their too). The current does push you a little bit so youll have to kick. Being the age that I am I don't have these problems. Don't make this sound like a big to-do. Its very easy and worth it! Amazing sights, fish, manatees, and alligators.
