Some of these reviews left me wondering. This place was great and we are coming back next year with more families. We had about 10 families with us. We got some dirty looks from only one camper who complained about us but the staff worked with us. They have a great club house that you can rent which we did to help keep the park quite. The only complaint was that the bath showers were not as hot as we would have liked, even cold water at times, but not bad enough to keep us away from this beautiful campground. The campgrounds were CLEAN. We even took a dip in the heated pool(or at least the kids did w/no complaints)

Room Tip: Some of the sites are pull in and back in make sure you know which to get.

My wife and I were wandering through the Steinhatchee area in early January. We stayed there for a couple of days but there were few campers (us and another couple). We saw Yellow Jacket on the I-net and gave it a try.
We had a week before we were to meet my brother-in-law in Perry. We stayed for a week and wished we could have stayed longer. The hot tub and pool were wonderful and we were able to fish from the boat dock. Our sight was a pull through and gave us plenty of room and privacy.
The best part of Yellow Jacket was the people we met. There were people from all over the east U.S. and some from Canada. We were welcomed at Yellow Jacket's planned activities and Sunday services. The staff were helpful and friendly.
We plan on going back this winter for a longer stay.

a while back we rented a poontoon boat from this camp ground. they tell you 5 gal of gas will get you to the gulf & back wrong it will only get you there then you have to fill the fuel tank with the other 5 gal can & that,s the one that costs an editional $25.00. the steering was so hard on the boat that it could hardly be turned. if you break down there is no cell phone service anywhere between the gulf & the yellow Jacket camp ground. & beware be sure you follow all of there rules are you could be sued or who knows what I love to be threatened buy a camp ground that i just paid a lot of money to.

Room Tip: what ever you do do not bring your own firewood

We stayed 3 nights, very nice. Nice view of the river from our site and close to bath house, which was clean and well kept. Staff was very friendly as well as the other campers. Great place and we will return. Just a two hour trip from our home.

Room Tip: Get a riverside site if you are RV'n. Its worth every penny! Oh and if you have one be sure to...

Great Family location, we booked a fabulous riverfront location #12, close to everything, very quiet, very clean, great views and friendly campers. We rented the YELLOW pontoon boat and drove 1 hr up the Suwannee River to Fanning Springs - WOW - pack a lunch, spent the day, boating, fishing and chilling - http://www.floridastateparks.org/fanningsprings/default.cfm
the springs are at ?72 degrees - fun high jump - bring your snorkle, goggles and fins to check out the fish - we loved YELLOW JACKET - for its CLEAN clean laundry, bathrooms and pool area - our campsite was perfect with a charcoal grill and wood fire pit, pet friendly and respectfl campers - come prepared to stay and not drive for a couple of days with all your supplies - to avoid a trip to town. Can't say enough about their friendly professional staff and team. - yes they have wifi - but enjoy the disconnect for a few days - it can all wait!! cell phone spotty - plan ahead and enjoy the peace and quiet - we did!

Room Tip: We RVd, so cannot help with that one.

stayed here with friends for the New Years weekend camping in a pop-up camper. We both had a "premium site" directly on the river with a spectacular view especially the sun rises and sun sets. We were greeted very kindly upon check in and were allowed to check in a couple of hours early with no problem at all. The entire population this weekend was a mix of all ages with a family with three kids right next to us. there were several children that I noted playing in the playground as well. The park manager lives on the property with her family and children as well and is very friendly and accessible.
The sites are all quite large, very clean and well maintained. The bath house has individual private bathrooms with toilet, sink, shower, mirror and outlet. These are immaculately cleaned and well maintained. The same applies to the laundry room that has laminate wood flooring, several newer washer and dryers, a table for folding as well as a TV for your entertainment.

There is a written note mentioning a $25.00 fee for not returning your pic nic table to where you found it. I am not sure if it is enforced but who really cares? Just put it back where you found it. They do sell their own fire wood for $5.00/ bunch and it is probably the largest $5.00 bunch you will find including off the side of the road. I find it hard to believe that they would harass you if you were unaware that they did not want you to bring your own. Everyone there was very friendly!

My friends and I are definitely planning to return there and consider this campsite one of the best we have stayed at. The premium river sites are $44. Off river sites are $36-44. RV sites have water, electric sewer hook up and additional 110 socket. There is an additional $2/ night and $6/ night fee for pets and additional people respectively. We stayed on lots 16&17 and they were fantastic.

I must wholeheartedly disagree with the entire post from the person stating that they were treated so terribly. I never once witnessed anything even remotely similar to what was posted.

This place is so serene and lovely - the cabin was clean, and very nicely decorated - the trip up the river on the pontoon was amazing and gorgeous! However feel the owners need to brush up on why they are there - we were there as their guests to enjoy the peace and quiet away from busy, hectic, noisy everyday life - yet every morning the grounds man was out with the extremely noisy leaf blower from 9 a.m. until mid afternoon - we tried having coffee on the porch to enjoy the serenity and quiet but ended up with splitting headaches from the awful constant noise of the gasblower. There must be a way and time to do this so that the guests can enjoy the quiet of the morning - or sleep in - without that loud blasting constant noise of the suburbia that they escaped from! It is the woods - so let the leaves fall - use a rake?
