“The Dam Diner”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 13, 2014

If you want to dine in an elegant environment, the Dam Diner isn't for you. If, however, you're interested in having a good, reasonably priced meal at an off the beaten path local restaurant, the Dam Diner is a good choice. The servers are friendly, and the food is served promptly. Both the reuben (the corned beef is at least an inch thick) and the fish sandwiches are very good. By the way, the diner is the Dam Diner because it is quite close to a dam on the Ocklawaha River. There is a well - maintained county park at the dam too.

“It's a diner, folks”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2014

If you looked in the dictionary for a definition of a diner, the Dam Diner's picture would be there. Therefore, it may not be for everyone. But, if you like biscuits and gravy, or very big, fluffy pancakes, stop in for a visit. They are open for breakfast and lunch, and on Friday evenings. Breakfast is served all day, but some of the lunch sandwiches are worth trying, too. Good Rueben, good fish sandwich, and a fresh made hamburger, not some processed patty. Located in front of the Moss Bluff Dam, on Highway 464C, my GPS doesn't have the diner listed, but it has the park/dam in the database.

“Yeah Lost In Time”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2014

But that's really the point here. Guess it's not for everyone. No franchises here. Good food reasonable price, quick and friendly service. Agree that it's not great but good works for us. Guild the lily with paint etc. and it would lose it's identity.
Ate there this morning and we'll go back again in the future.

“Yes!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 31, 2014

Outside, it looks a little run down. But inside it has a nice old charm. Breakfast was perfect, with delicious biscuits-n-gravy! I wouldn't hesitate to return next time I'm in the area.

“Lost In Time”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 11, 2014

The Dam Diner may have been a neat place way back when, but at the time I visited, the diner had seen better days, it needs a coat of paint outside and inside, the floors need to be cleaned and swept, the counter and dining room need a major over haul, and the parking lot needs to be smothed out. This diner could be a major destination for old florida charm if taken care of, fixed up and get a consistent menu and price list. Not sure what the kitchen looks like, but if it is anything like the counter and dining room, there is a problem. The food served me was ok, not good, just ok, the price was ok, but nothing served would or did take me back to the Dam Diner. Put some money into the place and keep folks coming back.
