“One of the best, newest, cleanest, quietest, best constructed.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2013

When transporting service animals from overseas, I fly into Orlando Airport and then drive up to Gainesville. I'd finally had enough of the Delta Tau Chi conditions in Hilton pet-friendly properties there and discovered this new Hampton.

What a treat! Beautiful colors and a much higher grade of construction and technology amenities than found in more expensive properties. Even though the location is close to the interstate, they retained many of the old growth trees and kept the land contours instead of bulldozing and filling everything into asphalt monotony.

The staff are friendly, competent, professional and genuinely helpful. From watching them deal effectively with challenging situations, I suspect they train by juggling chain saws, porcupines and open razors. With very little attrition.

I hate to ruin the place with popularity but if you have business in Gainesville during those nightmarish times when UF has a game or a graduation; invest the 45 minute drive and stay here. The price is much more reasonable, the pace more relaxing and you won't miss anything except the Gator Chaos.

WOW thanks! You must have been here during a team weekend! I appreciate that you noticed the staff and the way they try and handle whatever is going on. At times it can be very trying. You are right about the Gator events it's not that far and you can even get seated at resturants here!!

The place is clean and confortable. It looks like it was just renovated. The breakfast was atequate. The coffee was terrible but I think the coffee is terrible in all the Hampton Inns. I would defitnetly stay there again if I'm in Ocala.

Actually we opend brand new December 5th 2012 and we have a excellant housekeeping staff that really takes pride in our hotel. I'm really sorry you don't care for the coffee in any of our Hamptons. Let me know next time you come in and I will get you some Starbucks!

A new facility. Very helpful front desk staff. King Rm was spacious. Nice sized shower but no tub. Typical mini fridge and microwave. Complimentary evening cookies and hot breakfast. King Room with tubs front the interstate; King Rooms with shower only are on back side of building, so quieter. Nice outside area with tables and chairs. Will stay here again.

Room Tip: If you want quiet, ask for a room on the back side of the building.

You are giving away all the secrets! The rooms with showers only are all on the parking lot side but they are limited so book early.

We just stayed at this hotel overnight during our drive home from the beach. I originally had made my reservation at the other Hampton Inn, which is about 10 miles away. The front desk staff were very accommodating in getting the reservation switched to their hotel with the same rate. The front desk told me they only had 2 rooms left but the hotel did not seem packed. About an hour after we got checked in, we figured out there was a state softball tournament in the area, I believe for jr high girls. I was thinking we aren't going to sleep a wink tonight.

We were on the interstate side of the hotel....it wasn't bad and they do provide ear plugs in your room which I think is "above and beyond". The room was spotless. We had a room with king bed and pullout sofa. Our 6yr old loved the sofa bed and my husband were very comfortable in the big bed with great linens. The only complaint I have about this hotel, which is not something the staff can help, is the fact that the walls are paper thin. While getting ready this morning, I could hear the conversation the lady next door was having with her husband. Also, the ceiling noise was bad....whoever was in the room above us obviously had small children but they finally went to bed. Every encounter with any staff member was always very positive. I would give this hotel all stars on the rating if it wasn't for the architectural design. It was still a great stay. We will be back.

Very satisfied with the overall of the room. Very clean, and pleasant, service was excellent and the breakfast was fine. The tv stations were numerous and the bathroom toiletries were sufficient. My mom and I would stay again at this hotel.

We spent the night here on our way down to Sarasota on Friday, June 7. What a wonderful, wonderful hotel and staff! Our room was absolutely spotless, as was the bathroom. Our room faced the interstate so there was a bit of traffic noise, but when we turned on the air conditioner, it helped, tremendously. A very nice touch - they provide ear plugs for you, which also drowns out any outside noise. We ate a light breakfast the next morning - mainly because the facility was just so clean and friendly, and we greatly enjoyed a clean, safe place to spend the night. We travel to Sarasota frequently and will be using this as our "go-to" spot to break up the trip. The managers and staff need to be very proud of themselves - they represent the Hampton Inn name, well.
