If you can have only one meal in Ocala, make it here. This is, by far, the best restaurant in town, first class all the way. The portobello mushroom soup, which comes free with most entrees, is the single best taste of food you will find in this community.
While not cheap, the prices are very reasonable for the quality.
I've been up and down the menu and, while I have my preferences, I've never had a bad meal.
My favorite go-to dish is the chicken and shrimp pancetta -- in a brown garlic butter sauce with pancetta and sundried tomatoes over angel halr. With the soup (or salad) that costs only $17. I've enjoyed the duck here, and the chicken and veal parmegian. My wife likes the eggplant parmegian and the Spaghetti Puttenesca. The meal-sized salads are wonderful. On the lunch menu is Shrimp Salad Karina, which is my favorite, with an aged balsamic dressing. They will make this for me at dinner if I'm eating light.
I don't have a single negative thing to say about this restaurant, and I am very picky.
Note: This same restaurant appears twice on the TripAdvisor list, once highly rated and once, misspelled as "messa" instead of "mesa" much lower rated.
