I cannot believe there are two reviews here where people do not like this restaurant....the only thing that could explain them would be if they are posts from competitors who want to malign this place. I am a foodie and I eat in restaurants several times a week. My husband and I had such a fabulous lunch at this place....it was one of the best meals we have had in a long time. I recommend this place very highly for several reasons.
First -- as another tripadvisor post noted...our waiter Manuel Z was super. He was not only professional and friendly....he explained the menu well and brought us some extras to try. We went for lunch...and I was glad because there were items not available on the dinner menu....for example, I had the Chilean Salmon Burger which was a huge portion on ciabatta bread with red onions and a spicy mayo, and served with a large portion of sweet potato fries...it was only $9. (they do take out too and that seemed to be quite busy...many people dropped in to pick up their orders). My husband had one of the causas....crab salad on small mounds of sweet potato puree...plated beautifully and very tasty and fresh. We had the skirt steak spring rolls as a starter ..served with 2 great sauces. We wish we could have tried more things on the menu and will likely go back before we leave Fort Lauderdale on this trip. We had a bottle of Argentinian Brut sparkling wine that was only $24 for the bottle - a great buy compared to what you would pay for wine at other restaurants. We tried two desserts - the quinoa creme brulee is fabulous and the purple corn pudding (dia y noche) unusual and refreshing. Manuel brought us a glass of purple corn juice...order that it was out of this world....I am sure this must be super healthy and rich with anti-oxidants. It is flavored with cinnamon which is also healthy for thinning the blood.
I think it is too bad that this restaurant does not list itself as being in "Fort Lauderdale" because when people visit Ft. Lauderdale and are searching tripadvisor for restaurants...this will not pop up and it should.
If you want to go to a restaurant with lovely ambience....go here. This is perfect for a romantic date. If you want something different from your run-of-the-mill surf and turf places... go here. It is decorated with Peruvian art....quite beautiful. It is a relatively small restaurant - and they say by 7 or 730 it gets quite busy...so if you are going for supper I would recommend reserving.
