I booked this hotel about two weeks in advance through the Best Western website. I printed confirmations, and had all the necessary numbers, etc.
As always, I called the hotel directly the day before to confirm my reservation. I was put on hold 12 minutes! I eventually hung up, and called back about 6 hours later. After being put on hold for 6-7 minutes, I was told my reservation hadn't been made. I told the clerk that I had confirmation numbers, and other information if he needed it. He said it wouldn't matter, that the room was not booked for me, and told me to called 1800WESTERN, and he couldn't help me.
I called the 800 number, and spoke to a man who said the reservation was made. I asked him to call or fax such confirmation to the hotel directly, and he said don't worry about it, the reservation was made. I called the hotel to relay this information, and was put on hold for (17 minutes, yes 17!), before hanging up. I decided to take my chances, and when I arrived, the reservation had not been made, and the staff I dealt with was very rude. I called the 800 number, and told them to cancel the reservation, and I found another hotel.
I honestly don't expect much, but I have stayed in hotels for many years, and the staff, both local and corporate, were by far the rudest and most inconiderate I have ever dealt with. For this reason, I plan on avoiding the Best Western change altogether in the future.
