We just returned from a week at the Doubletree North Redington Beach Florida. This was our second visit to this hotel. The rooms have been remodeled and were very comfortable. We had a room on the Gulf side with a balcony which you could watch the sunsets each evening. They have a great tiki bar outside that also overlooks the Gulf. We experienced great service from both the front desk and the tiki bar. One morning I needed stamps and the hotel was out, the lady "Lori" at the front desk sold me a couple of her own stamps so I wouldn't have to wait or go to the post office. We didn't eat any evening meals at the hotel but heard that the food was pretty good. They have a dinner buffet on Friday nights with Steak. Looked good but we had already made other plans. We will go back to the Doubletree.

“Great hotel”

My wife and 2 boys (ages 17 and 15) stayed at this hotel for one week. From the momment we got there till the time we left, the hotel staff was just fantstic. Everyone we asked questions of, was very friendly and helpful. The warm cookies were offered once we got in and at the time we left. The sunday brunch is great food for a nice price of about 10 dollars per person. Drinks were high like most restuarants are. Nice location easy access to st pete and clearwater beaches. Elevators are a bit cramped and hot and stuffy. Rooms were fine, maid service always there for you. Beach is right at your doorstep. Pool not that large but was ok. Never really that crowded in the pool. More than one occassion we heard people from the street trying to get a room-it seemed there was bargaining to be had, do not settle for the 1st price they give you. All in all a very nice hotel made great by the staff!.

I had to go on a business trip to Tampa and stayed at the Doubletree in N. Redington Beach. I stayed here because my partner Chris went with me and he wanted to be near the beach while I was working. His wish was granted because this is right on the beach.

The hotel had a nice location but is starting to show a bit of it's age and is not really up to Doubletree standards. The parking garage in front of the hotel was sort of creepy if you park in the lower level. I recommend parking on the upper level because that is where the lobby is.

The beach was beautiful. They also had a nice restaurant that had wonderful seating on the beach.

Overall, it wasn't bad but I would have been disappointed if I had to pay for it.

We stayed 14 nights at the Doubletree, North Redington Beach in May 2007 in a beachfront room on the 5th floor overlooking the pool. Free covered parking is conveniently located close to elevators. Front desk clerks were always friendly and gave us warm chocolate chip cookies throughout our stay. Concierge can provide a map and directions to local attractions. Also, you can get a safety deposit box at the front-desk.

The lobby is very clean and attractive with tropical decor. There is free access to a computer on the main floor to check your e-mails or to use the internet, but it's not connected to a printer. There is another computer and printer in the same room that requires a credit card. The front-desk clerk offered to print our boarding passes.

Our first two nights were on the 6th floor overlooking the restaurant. However, the sounds from the air conditioning on the roof and the restaurant below were too noisy for us, so we asked to be moved to a quieter beachfront location, and we moved to the 5th floor overlooking the pool.

For your information, if you don't upgrade to a beachfront room, then you will be looking at the parking lot, the road traffic, and in the distance a beachwear store and some local houses.

The rooms are very clean, but it's not a new hotel. Also, the rooms do not have the same tropical decorated drapes as on the hotel website, instead they are just plain looking. We were a little disappointed that we could only watch a very limited number of television channels, but we were more disappointed with the extra soft mattress--we are used to an orthopaedic mattress. Anyhow, my expectation on the bedding was way too high before I stayed here.

One other problems that we encountered is the loud air-conditioning sound kicking-in during the night. When it woke me up, it sounded like we were having a hurricane.

The view from the balcony is spectacular, the in-room mini fridge is very handy for storing cold drinks and snacks, and the beach location is extremely convenient. You can walk for miles on the beach. We enjoyed swimming in the pool and in the Gulf. Towels and lounge chairs are provided around the pool, and there are three stationary umbrellas. Also, the food in the restaurant is very good, but we found the service very slow.

There is a private company that rents padded lounge chairs and umbrellas on the beach. The price is $24.00/day. They also rent for a half-day, and I think by the hour. Since we were staying for two weeks, we bought some chairs and an umbrella at a local store because we wanted to have the flexibility of choosing a location on the beach and to take them with us to other beaches in the area.

In conclusion, the hotel is lively. They have beach wedding ceremonies on the weekends. The music is loud from noon until 11 p.m. sometimes. If you have a beachfront room, you will definitely hear the loud music in your room. There was no music on Mondays and Tuesdays or on rainy evenings. The beachfront location is superb.

“Over Rated!!!!!!!!!!!”

Doubletree Beach Resort Tampa Bay / North Redington Beach

We traveled to Florida for a wedding on the beach at this hotel. Very disappointed. We stayed 2 nights and it didn't meet my expectations for a "HILTON" hotel. We visited the pool and it was completely filled with bugs...I couln't believe people were swimming in it!!! The tiki bar was alright, but the outside patio furniture was dirty. The electric went out for two hours, there were people stuck in the elevator..... The generator woulnt even power the elevator!!! Here is the kicker....we found a roach in our room!!! The manager took nothing off our bill and did nothing to correct the issue. And for the price of 164$ a night, ocean front, it was not what I expected. The ocean wasn't even clear or clean, as it was when we stayed at the Belleview Biltmore, with its private beach.

OVER-PRICED & OVER-RATED!!!
