“Great Yearly Getaway”

Sandalwood Beach Resort

Sandalwood is very relaxed and very family oriented. The pool is great just what my daughter loves with enough sun to keep mom happy. Sand castles and shell hunting just steps away with 5 Major league spring training sites within 25 miles for me. The building is older like a Fifties style hotel. Clean but older. The staff has always been very helpful and accommodating with my family. We have stayed there for 3 consecutive years and will make it 4 unless Mickey Mouse's siren song calls my youngest....We own a business and realize what a gem it is. It's not a party hotel. They do not put up with Loud raucous behavior around families. :) It's not a Five star hotel with all the amenities. It's on the beach, it's clean, and it's a great price. Sorry I never even thought about looking inside the oven...We were too busy having fun on the beach and in the pool !!! Minutes from John's Pass. Dolphin cruise is great. With 3 decent restaurants a short distance from the resort. Hotel next door has all the ocean toys you could want to rent. I love falling asleep to the crashing surf. We have stayed in different rooms and have never been disappointed, but I have to say the third floor over looking the gulf is my favorite.

“Great Place”

Sandalwood Beach Resort

We recently stayed at the Sandalwood and was very impressed. Although it's an older facility and rather small the rooms, pool (heated) and grounds were immaculate. There is a beautiful beach and it's great not to have to cross the street to get to it. Staff were very helpful and friendly - eager to please. The efficiency we stayed in was tastefully decorated, well furnished and even had a small kitchen. We were somewhat skeptical about staying there after reading some of the reviews but liked the looks of the place after seeing pictures on the web and bottomline..... the prices were too good to pass up. So, we took a chance and are glad we did. We will definitely stay there again and are looking forward to returning.

“Good Value - Nice Beach - Nice Room”

Sandalwood Beach Resort

Pleased to say we had a good stay. The price was very reasonable. The
pool was heated and the beach was nice. We were lucky the weather was beautiful. It sure beats paying 150 a night - perhaps those complaining are expecting a new place. It is older but thankfully it was clean and we had no problems. we will return next year. All the past reviews had scared us some. I'm glad we went ahead and stayed there. We stayed in an efficiency 233 - it was pleasantly decorated in
palm tree themes. I didn't take a picture of the room but it was nice.

We were very pleased with our stay. From reading other reviews, they must have gotten new management or something because everyone was friendly to us. We had a good experience with the Sandalwood. The rooms were clean -no problems- our efficency had a kitchen. The complex is smaller , like 40 or 50 rooms and an older complex but it looked like new decks on the beach side. The pool was very nice and very clean. It sure seems like something must have changed from the other reviews. We were pleased. It was VERY affordable- our efficency was only 75 per night. The beach is very nice and they had a small restaurant on site that was convient too. We will go back.

“Worst place we have ever stayed!!”

My family and i including my father -in- law and mother - in- law go on vacations every year. We normally always book our reservations thru internet while looking at it carefully at pictures and asking questions. Well when we got there the pictures on the internet were nothing like the the place.. the first two bedroom which was room 343 was the nastiest, it had bandaids over sockets that they didn't want you to use, there was a bandaid hold the romote battery for the tv in, the furniture was tore up, my husband got locked in the bathroom while checking it out, the stove hadn't been cleaned, the referigator stunk. It should of been pool side view, in order for that to have happen you would have to sit on the railing on the back of the two beds when we said something about that, the lady said its pool side not pool view. ok! It was awful. my father in law went down to complain and they said sorry no refund with out a 30 day notice, what the heck, they said we can give you a different room, so not willing to give up our 140 dollars in money, we tried another room it was room 243 it was almost as bad, stove filthy, this was only a one bed room and they said we had to pay more money for it, there was two beds in the room with no walking space between the beds and the light switch was found written in small lttters in pen on the wall behind the head board saying "light switch" with a arrow.. All this for 140.00 a night.. Beautiful motels on both sides of us and this dump in between, must say one thing the man did keep up with the pool, every morning he was cleaning the pool, not taking care of the rooms but the pool, oh yes and the banquet room no such room it was a junk room it had two tables, some broken down ceiling fans and other junk in it and the laundry room was in there also it had one washer and one dryer and it was filthy you had to walk thru the nasty banquet room to get to it. Also, paint coming off the walls everywhere. And yes i did take pictures of this, but not sure on how to put them on here but if interested i will find a way! We informed the staff of our unhappy arrival and departure and didn't matter to them they had there money.
