“Ram Sea #403”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2013

They recently redecorated unit #403. Very nice furnishings. Pictures on website accurately represented the unit. Loved the location and beach view. Extra large balcony that spans the master bedroom and living area. Had some trouble with one of the tv remotes but programmed it ourselves and was fine after. Only complaint about inside was the sheets -- very rough/itchy. Excellent free wi-fi. Large jacuzzi outside and good pool. Independent concession (I think affiliated to DoubleTree Hotel next door) for beach cabanas (with 2 padded lounge chairs) are about $25 per day, but they will negotiate for longer rentals. This unit has a few beach chairs but no beach umbrellas (Feb 2013). Only disappointment was lack of shells on beach. We've been to Sanibel and got spoiled with the shells so I don't expect anything to compare regarding shell searches. :) I would rent this unit again.

Greetings from the Beaches...so glad you enjoyed your stay. Ram Sea 403 is great. The double balcony spanning the master bedroom and living room is especially nice. Cabanas, beach chairs, umbrellas, sea kayaks, jet skis, etc are all offered by the beach concession that is partnered with Ram Sea and the Double Tree next door. Our guests do enjoy the concession or the use of deck chairs and sun lounges provided on our pool and Jacuzzi decks.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write and we hope to see you again soon...

4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 4, 2013

We returned a week ago from a week long stay at Ram Sea condos and were very pleased with our stay in Unit 509. We found Terry, the onsite manager with JC Resorts, great to deal with prior to our trip. She was very helpful with our booking.

The overall complex was very clean and we enjoyed the pool and hot tub areas. Onsite staff were all very good. We also liked the location, close to all kinds of restaurants and activities. Some local restaurants we enjoyed were Conch Republic, Crabby Bills, Salt Rock Grill, Dockside Daves and Ricky T’s.

Unit 509 is a 2 bed/2bath corner unit condo. We found it perfect for 4 adults (2 couples). The unit is modern and clean and is exactly as shown in the pictures on the JC Resorts website. The view from the balcony is spectacular, great view of the beach and sunsets in the evening. Living room had lots of comfortable seating. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you can think of. We would suggest that they upgrade to a 4-slice toaster, rather than the 2-slice they have, but it’s a minor item. Bedrooms were nicely furnished with lots of room and storage. Daily newspaper at the door was a nice touch.

A few items of note for future renters:

Beach chairs and beach towels – we were surprised the unit didn’t have them, as we’ve had them included in other units we’ve rented in the area. We were able to purchase inexpensive ones at Walmart and Winn-Dixie, so again, only a minor inconvenience.

No Blow dryer(s) – I had brought my own just in case

As advertised, this unit doesn’t have an in-unit laundry facility. We used the building ones on the 2nd and 4th floor. Machines and laundry room were clean and well kept.

As stated in the previous review, we too found the internet to be extremely slow and a little frustrating at times. The internet is our main method of communication with family and work while we’re away and at times, this proved to be difficult.

We were also surprised with the phone plans that are available that there was a charge of $0.50 for local calls from the land line. This likely wouldn’t be an issue to someone with a US cell phone but because we are Canadian, using our cell phones in the US can be expensive. The $0.50 charge would have been less expensive than our cell phone but still surprised by it.

Overall, we were really pleased with the condo and the complex and we’d highly recommend it.

Greetings from the Beaches:

So glad you enjoyed your stay in Ram Sea 509. The view from that corner is fabulous. Thank you for your comments and suggestions. We will make sure they are passed along as needed.

We continue to work to improve our wi-fi service. This is an ongoing effort. Especially now that almost everyone travels with multiple devices.

The local call charge will likely change soon as well. It has become almost a moot issue as most people now use their cell phones.

We hope to see you soon and thanks again.

Stayed in condo 509 over the New Year. The place was huge, newly remodeled and had wonderful views. We highly recommend RamSea. The staff is wonderful and very helpful.
We enjoyed the fact that it was close enough to Clearwater Beach but not nearly as crowded. The only reason for the 4 instead of 5 rating is that the wireless internet could be stronger and altho they have new flat screen TV's in the living room and bedrooms they don't have HiDef service - - just basic cable. Normally a Florida vacation wouldn't involve so much computer and TV time but we did have a few cloudy days. We highly recommend this place and would love to go back!

Dear Kristine:
Greetings from the beaches and thank you for taking the time to write a review. 509 is in deed fabulous. The condo is so very comfortable, spacious and the sunsets at night from the balcony are world class. We are in the process of updating our internet service (again). With so many devices and users it is hard to keep abreast of bandwidth needs. Thanks for letting us know and hope to see you soon.

We have stayed several times at the Ram Sea but the first time for this particular condo. The condo was updated and very clean. We stayed 18 days and what we received condo wise for the money was a great value. Already planning trip for next year.

Lots of places near by to walk or drive to dine or shop. Very safe area!

We stayed in condo 111 which is in Ram Sea II during the week of 9/22 - 9/29. Everything was perfect. Check in was quick and easy they even let us check in early. The condo was nicely decorated. The Beds were comfortable. Each Bedroom had a flat screen TV. Beautiful Kitchen. Wireless internet worked as it should. The pool area was nice and was cleaned every single day.We also loved this unit because it was on the first floor up so we never needed to take an elevator. Also great Tiki bar right next door to the Ram Sea II

Room Tip: We stayed in Condo 111.

We have stayed several times at the Ram Sea condos and have always enjoyed our time there. Our most recent stay in unit 312 was the best yet with the cleanliness, standard and quality of furnishings etc. excellent (most of them looked brand new). After our most recent visit, I was puzzled by reading a review that criticized this unit. I can only assume they either got the wrong unit number or were having a bad day! The staff were always friendly and eager to help and the position of the unit (and especially the balcony with its swing seat, lounger and dining set) was perfect for enjoying the stunning sunsets, lapping up the sun and even watching dolphins, several times, swim past right in front of us, once from our bed in the morning. The beach and pool area have such a relaxed atmosphere and most of the restaurants up and down the beach are top quality. Ram Sea and especially unit 312 is a definite recommend from us and we can't wait to return.

Dear StephenIrene:
Greetings from the beaches and thank you for taking the time to write a review. Lots of people really love 312. The owners spend quite a bit of time here and spend lots of that time working on the condo. The direct Gulf view with nightly sunsets from the porch swing is a favorite of many.

Thanks again...

We were very unhappy with our stay in Room 212 in July, this year, 2012. Nothing has changed from the other reviews that I had missed, unfortunately. ALL of the beds in this unit are like plywood, ALL of them. The dining table sways back and forth. The TV stand was broken and the TV was leaning at an angle. The purple carpet was absolutely filthy, vacuuming did not and will not help,at all... PVC pipes used for hanging towels in the bathrooms. Yes, mold in the corners of the master bath along with a broken exhaust fan. There were also broken fluorescent light tiles in the 2nd bathroom. We stay one week every summer with a few other families and this is the first time that I have been completely unsatisfied.

Dear Seffner Steve:

Thank you for taking the time to write. We are so very sorry you did not enjoy 212. The owner has since replaced furniture in living room and replaced all beds in the condo. Carpeting has been cleaned in the bedrooms. Living room, dining room, kitchens and baths are all tile. Bathrooms have been re-grouted and caulked. This condo is now rented as a two bedroom. As you may know, you can visit our website to select a condo of your choosing. Thanks again for giving us your feedback. We really appreciate it and... it is very helpful in letting owners know how their guests are faring.
